Panama gains independance from United States forces...

"The last five years have been long, and I think it is time Panama once again gained its independance from United States forces," commented a high-ranking United States military official, "We believe that with the modernisation of Panaman society, they have achieved what we hoped they would, and with the signing of the 'Treaty of Panaman Independance', the people will gain what they have sought after for so long."

The media was excited as behind the official, several diplomatic leaders sat in the room with the introduced government of Panama. Like the United States, Panama would be a democracy, based on the ideas of Liberty, Freedom, and Life Under God. Since the occupation had began, the Panamese people had been more than co-oporative with United States forces, since they were thankful for the removal of their dictator.

In the streets of Panama City on this proud day, citizens watched dozens of television screens as the official documents were signed. Today would mark the beginning of Panaman independance, and although they officially had it back in 1907, they had become a protectorate of the United States after the war in the late 1980's. Now, with the signing of the Treaty of Panaman Independance, the nation would become a fully independant nation, and United States forces would be withdrawing over the next month.

A cheer came from the streets as the document was officially signed, and the new President Andrew Chavez was declared as the official President and Leader of Panama. Boldly, he would soon make a speech to the people of Panama, in pride of the national achievement. Over the next few days, messages would be sent all over the globe, inviting nations to establish diplomatic relations with the newly independant country.

From: President Andrew Chavez, United States of Modern Panama
Subject: Our independance, and diplomatic relations with others
----------------------------------------------------

As the first official leader of Modern Panama, I greet you all in pride to announce the official signing of the Treaty of Panaman Independance. As you could probably assume, we are very excited to be new on the international scene, which is why I am contacting you today.

Since we were invaded by the United States in the late 1980's, we have been unable to build diplomatic relations with any countries whatsoever, there being no actual United States of Panama at the time. Under the new leadership of myself, I will be representing the United States of Modern Panama, as we are now a new nation, both in historical age, and on the international scene.

Therefore I extend this invitation to establish diplomatic relations with you all, so that we can meet and discuss matters of varying importance. You are free to contact our Ministry of Foriegn Affairs if you do so wish to meet with us, and we are sure arrangements can be made.

Thankyou for your attention,

President Andrew Chavez
