OOC: OK, here the deal. There is a new region and a new alliance that has been formed. see the details at http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=351950&page=1

We have "room" for one more nation to join us in our alliance. A map of the territory is attached to this post. DO NOT POST HERE OR ASK TO JOIN US IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS

Only one nation will get it. To do so you must:

1. Have a population of at least 250 million

2. reasonably request to join the alliance and respect our aims

3. Engage in dialouge with us and let us know why we should let you join us (in other words RP a dialouge concerning the admission to the alliance)

4. Be voted in by a simple majority of us

5. recognize our tech levels of 2015 or so, max.

look at the map and read the thread noted above. If you get in though, you'll get control of Florida and Alabama, former states in the Antebellum South which has collapsed.

(hint: it might be good to address us by name and also know who we are or are not puppets of, as you make your pleas for admission)

OOC: Seeing as it would be rather convenient to have a Mediterranean base, I guess I'll apply for the Florida territory.

Turkmeny is a puppet nation, my real nation is Tokarev.

My pop is 1.648 billion, so that isn't a problem. I have modern tech-level, so that isn't a problem either.

Major-General Shun Akifusa, the Chief of Staff for the Bureau of North American Territories of the Tokarev Ministry of the Territories, was a rather miserable commander. After he had been promoted to General and assigned what seemed to be a prestigious career, he had gone downhill. Tokarev no longer had any North American territories, having been forced to sell them all after World War IX.

Akifusa had observed the fall of Antebellum South with little interest, know full well Tokarev couldn't intervene due to the escalating war with Russia and China. However, the offer of Florida was too good to turn down. It would provide Tokarev with a Mediterannean base once again. He sent a message to one of the Parliamentary Secretaries of the Ministry, Admiral Tamon Yamaguchi, asking him to forward the official request for the territory to Lieutenant-General Minoru Eda, the Director-General of the North American Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to be sent to the government of the Grand Duchy of Norleans.

Greetings honorable representative of Norleans,

As the representative of the Thalassian Confederacy of Tokarev, I would like to extend to you a warm greetings and a request to open formal relations between our two respective nations. Long ago, we lost our Mediterranean bases to an aggressor nation and are interested in renewed access to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

We are a powerful nation of close to two billion people, with a strong, growing economy. We can aid you in the military, as our navies are some of the most powerful in the world, and our major industries are uranium mining and arms manufacturing.

We eagerly await your response.

Your application is under consideration, as part of that consideration, we'd ask to know how Florida fits with your plans to exercise some control over the Mediterranean. Since the Mediterranean is all the way across the Atlantic from Florida, we are curious about how you connect the two in your mind and future plans.

Tokarev is a Pacific power, and having some amount of control in the Mediterranean will allow us to react faster to threats on the opposite side of the world, and will hopefully deter any attempts at closing the Panama Canal to our shipping.

We don't meet your stated qualifications to join or apply for the land, but we'd be willing to enter into some sort of political relationship with you if you are interested. We control the former state of Texas (which like the Antebellum south broke for the Union grip after the civil war).

OOC: Please note, that while a small nation and newly formed, I am an experienced RP'er and not a total N00b.

OOC: If Turkmeny/Tokarev ceases all hostilities with Granzi/Tyrunia and agrees to not side against them (or us) again, We and the Duchy of Norleans, agree to allow him in to the TSA and grant him Alabama and Florida per the map.

As to Texarkania, absolutely admit him as an associate member, between Tyrunia, Norleans and now, seemingly, Turkmeny, we, in association with Texarkania could eventually sieze control of the entire Gulf of Mexico, Cuba, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, etc.

OOC: What hostilities with Granzi/Tyrunia? I am an ally of Granzi and I have never encountered Tyrunia.

In that case, welcome to the The Southern Alliance Turkmeny. Your forces may begin moving into Alabama and Florida to bring them under your control. The only request that the alliance makes is that you do not fortify your borders. The South is an open land where there is no distrust. We espouse free trade and movement. Again, welcome.

We also welcome Texarkania to the Alliance as an associate member, when your nation has matured enough you will be accepted to the Alliance as a full member. As an associate member you are accorded all the rights of a full member, just no territory in the South.

OOC: Am I permitted to construct coastal defenses?

Will you be doing a repeat of the wall in Japan?

OOC: I will have to consult the other alliance members, for now hold off, I'm pretty sure they will say yes, as they only fend off outside attack. This all hinges on whether or not you allow other alliance memebrs to use the coastline.

Thanks for letting me in. I've moved my country to the Southern Alliance region now too. Is Turkmeny and the other puppet countries going to move in. I like the idea of having our own private region to RP in and plan Co-ordinated efforts in RP's with other countries.

TO: Turkmeny and Texarkania:

Welcome new members and associate members of the Southern Alliance. Glad to have you aboard. As with the original members of the Alliance, an antebellum home in the ritzy part of New Orleans has been set aside for your use as an official residence & embassy in Norleans. Please feel free to staff it as you see fit.

Turkmeny, please don't fuck up the really nice beaches in Florida with your coastal defense systems ;) Also, we have recalled our troops in Southern Florida that were there maintaining order. We've left a carrier at Tampa Bay awaiting your officical arrival in that part of Florida to take part in the ceremony. Once that is over we will recall that Carrier back to our port in Mobile.

Texarkania, we look forward to working out a joint economic venture on the production of oil and natural gas. Between your west Texas reserves and the combination of both our offshore reserves in the Gulf of Mexico, we could become an petrolium producing powerhouse (what does the rest of the region think about that? I'm sure we could work out something that is to everyone's benefit in one way or another in this regard, like reduced prices for members of the region, etc.).

The Iron Concordiat wishes to bring to light the Inactivity of two member nations, the New jersey Counties and Serti, if they are to be part of the Alliance they must participate,we hope they break theri dormancy.

The Concordiat would like to draw up a charter as well.
