New metal to revolutionize space travel!

Today, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources issued a joint report discussing their ongoing research into the newly discovered metal Braezilon.

http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=347788

The report indicates the development of a "Braezilon Reactor", which uses the resonance qualities of Braezilon to generate energy, and, under certain circumstances, cause bends in space.

"We do not completely understand what causes the metal to react in such strange ways yet, but it is under investigation." says noted geologist John Bames. "In the mean time, our military counterparts on this project will be moving foward with the perfection of the Braezilon Reactor, hoping to use it as a more efficient means of interstellar travel."

So far, neither the metal nor the reactor are for sale on the international market. However, this promises to change in the near future.

The Alexian Emperial Goverement has expressed interest in your reaserch,as the emperor has a soft spot for progress.

Some questions directly from his emperor ship,(who wouldn't be surprised should you chose not to answer)

1.Could this phenomenon perhaps be harnessed in some way as a more efficent, cheap, eviremental(or any of those things) way to genrate electrical power?

2.Could it maybe transport people and objects safely from one place to another on earth?

3.Could it maybe be used as some sort of weapon?

The emperor would appreciate if you kept him informed, and wishes he could contribute some funds to your reaserch, but unfortunatly cannot.(see The Alexian Empire thread)

OOC:
Befor pulling a new element out of that mysterious relm knows as 'ass space', please do a little research to atleast come up with something plausible.

No, I don't particularly care about it's properties, so much as what it actually is; unless, of course, you've already come up with more depth to the explination than you're letting on.

yah,how about first making a convincing thing as to explain everything

OoC: Don't be too hard on him guys. As long as he didn't use this in any too god-modishly way, just remind yourself that he's giving a whole lot more explanation then all those future tech nations who just rip-off Star Trek without knowing anything of the physics behind any of it.

true.I just don't want to see him turn into one.

OOC: If you read the link I posted, you'll see that I've outlined the more important aspects of the metal. I could develop a whole periodic table listing for it, but its not really worth my time, and you probably won't care anyway.

IC: Yes, the Braezilon Reactor can and most probably will be used as a way to generate electricity. Using it for transportation on Earth however, is not safe, as the gravatic fields it generates will most likely cause cataclysmic seismic anomolies. As for a weapon, its possible. More information on that later.

OOC: Pay close attention; you may be suprised just what you can do with these things. ;)

OOC:
I read it befor posting; fact is that any new element would have to be a stable superheavy, and that would requior a massivly energetic event to produce in any quantity; the explosion of a super massive star being the absoloute bare minimum, IMO, tho that would scatter it across a great many lightyears.

Alternative explinations are fairly easy to come up with, however, both for what it is or where it came from; the simplest explination would be to say it was some stable superheavy that was deposeted in the system when an alien superfreighter carrying it was destroyed back when the planets were not but a ring of dust and ice, still coalescing around their star.

yah,see thats the thing..........alien superfrighter?Really man.

well if thats what you want to do.

OOC: No alien superfreighters for me, thanks. As for the formation, "research is ongoing" ;)

Well, it was just an example of a plausible answer, not to mention the first thing to pop into my head.

Tho from that answer, I take it you already have one of your own?

OOC:He says the strange metal with energies great enough to bend space were formed due to the fact that its system was formed strangely................

IC: Ageaol has developed an interest in the new metal hopes one day that it will be open to others.

Last time I blamed something on an Alien Superfrighter,I was arrested for gangsterism.

But science fiction is great.
