The Armour Logistics Reduction Program, otherwise known as ALREP, is an effort to reduce the steadily increasing fuel logistics, which is mainly due to the roughly 30,000 tanks and nearly 45,000 fighting vehicles operated by the Imperial Army. Although the Imperial Marines plays a part in this logistics handicap, their total forces are much lower than those of the Army.
The only way that the Imperium Armed Forces can hope to reduce the logistics load is to create a long-term solution to the problem. What has been proposed is to replace the current methanol turbine with a QNFR turbine. Although the new turbine is smaller than that of those fitted inside some UAVs, it provides the necessary power for an armoured vehicle admirably. After a few tests the project has been deemed a success and the replacement of the turbines is commencing post haste. Although the price for the ALREP is predicted to reach as high as ten billion, the long-term savings in material and lives has been deemed to far outstrip such monetary concerns.
