IMO you should have waaaay more individuals in the Federal Supply Service.

All they do is fly supply ships. It doesn't take many people to sit in chairs and fly enourmous cargo ships for minutes at a time.

The way I perceived the post was that part of your forces supplies the rest of the military, from the frontlines to stationed units. If that's the case, my comment still stands. If the case is that you have more logistical units that make up large parts of other sections, then its fine.

Here's what happens:

Federal Combat Fleets always carry supply ships with them. In case of extended deployments, the supply ships carry all the needed supplies for the fleet. THere are enough supplies for years. Federal Ships carry all the neccessary supplies and resources for years away from Federal facilities. The Cargo ships are for transporting supplies between worlds and installations. As well as permenantly forward-deployed fleets/vessels. The supply service just oversees machines that load/unload supplies, package supplies, and fly cargo ships. THat's all. The force that produces the supplies is not military. The supplies are purchased from civilian businesses.
