Ok, I just wanted to announce this as my Future Tech nation, and see if there is like any thing that I should know before I start making stuff, so I dont screw up too bad. Any Help is much Appreciated.

Well, some important things to know at your size, you might want to make at least one friend that's something like twice your size. Shivans and Shivan wannabes make a habit of attacking smaller space-nations.
Also, you might want to watch the numbers you have. Again, though you are decent-sized, but not big enough to field massive fleets. For now, I suggest concentrating on defensive ships to be placed in whatever systems you may control.
Lastly, WORK ON YOUR OWN TECH!. Everyone and their mother uses Star Trek, it seems, and you'll not only get a lot of respect for technology of your own thinking that is actually grounded in modern and theoretical physics, but you'll get plenty of originality points as well.
However, I'm a relatively new future-tech nation as well, though larger as I have a backstory that involves nearly a thousand years of constant expansion and warfare, my advice might not be the best.

Whats up with the whole systems thing, like do I just make up one and say its mine or are there like some rules about that sort of stuff?

You also wanna carve out your own little corner of the galaxy, work out an original Faster-than-light drive (because warp is ollllld) and start working on weapons. And you WILL want to find an alliance and stick with it. Not only will it provide you with protection from bullies *cough*Shivangodmodders*cough* but on their forums you can get inspiration for technology.

Basically, you can make them up as you go.
Me, for instance. My homeworld is located in a system with a medium-sized yellow sun not all too disimilar to Sol, with 9 planets orbiting it, which by some cosmic coincidence are called Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, but it is NOT the Sol system, not matter how much it may seem like it. It is, in fact, located on the exact opposite side of the galaxy.
I control something like 27 other systems. All made up.

Actually most people use SW tech here.
Theres nothing wrong with useing the base of it. But you don't need to copy everything on them.
I use ST like ships. The Engines and weapons are like nothing you'll ever see on an ST ship. I do reccoement that you use somthing you can get a pic for.
How is the fold drives me and GZ use "old" Better than warp :P
OOC:
Just to let you know, EVERYTHING in star trek is based on modern and theoretical physics, everthing in it is theroritcly possible.

One of the first things I'd rp is discovering FTL, then getting yourself the heck outta Sol - it's overpopulated and everything is already claimed many times over. Claim yourseld a planet or two, for a nation your size, I'd say only one (I have only one inhabited planet). You can use other planets in your system for resources, but claim to only have a couple habitable ones.
Read a couple ft rps, then join one as a minor player.
Use your own ships designs if you have an imagination, but be sure either to post a storefront you can link to or be ready to explain everything. ST and SW are for people who can't think of anything original. Get yourself some friends, try looking at some outside forums to find people to rp with. I first got into FT throuigh an outside forum, and now that's all I do.
