[OOC: I make a modest proposal to reorganize the OMP with Doujin leaving NS. We should pick a new leader of the alliance and that person should serve as board admin (or have the two positions separate?).

Well, the old boards are still there, as are all the members (aside from Doujin), so I dont think we're quite sunk just yet. :)

We could always have a Triumvirate (oh I like that word), but we should not change the 'loose' spirit of the OMP.

To be honest, we dont really need to change the organisation of the structure of the OMP. This was only meant as an alliance rather than a federation of states and so a leadership position isnt really vital.

I should point out there is a natural heriachy within the OMP anyway that sorted out the decision making, so any leadership is redundant in itself.

But I agree with SS that some rules do need to put into writing.

[He just lost motivation to be on the computer, much less play NS. Oh well, it happens. Personally, my own motivation for staying on NS is to become so large that when I start my military campaign I'll be unstoppable.

But I agree with the idea of a triumvirate. I would say Scandinavian States and the Freethinkers would be good candidates, and maybe Clan Smoke Jaguar or Hamptonshire for the third.

As far as me leaving, I lost motivation to be on the computer due to the fact that I have... oh, I don't know - school... among the various other organizations that I have been involved in for the past year that are starting up again for the fall school year.

The OMP is not like every other alliance - not made to be something like UnAPS, or whatnot. The leadership style that existed was chosen because that was what worked best. And, SS, if you didn't notice - when a poll was taken to see wether or not those that are in the OMP wanted a change in the way the OMP was led, it was something like 9 to 4 3 - 9 being don't change it, 4 being change it, three being some stupid other option.

Mind you, the post wasn't made by me - yet after several days (About a week) of it being up, it was obvious the majority of the members didn't want the style of leadership to change.

As Freethinker acknowledged, the OMP is an alliance - not a federation. You are more than welcome to leave it if you don't wish to uphold the ideals of the organization - To keep the seas free from piracy and all people who wish to hamper maritime commerce.

SS, I'm sorry that you don't want to uphold the ideals of the organization 24/7 and that you dislike being called on some of your choices - but that is what happens when one goes against said ideals. If you can't uphold them, then why the hell are you in it?

Now, I got class at 12, another one at 2, a meeting a 3, a meeting at 5, a meeting at 7, another one at 7:30, another one at 8:30.. the joy of being me.

As for the new boards, I guess by default we have to go to http://s7.invisionfree.com/OMP/. We will have to start from square one, but the OMP will be free from the whims of a single member.

Praetonia, SS, Freethinkers, Sarzonia- register on the new forums and for a limited time (until we can work it all out), you'll all be given Admin access so we can get everything up.

Account doesn't need to be "Activated", you just need to be moved from the Members group to the OMP Members group, which I did.

OOC: Doujin and I weren't ICly allies on NS, but OOCly I respected him. I enjoyed talking to him and his ship designs could beat the best at Newport News. I wish him good luck in whatever he does (probably the Internet Business he wrote the business plan for.)

Doujin will be missed on these boards, but I'm sure he'll succeed where ever else he goes. I admit that the IC problems with Doujin and myself were the result of sin on my part. That sin was jealously. I was jealous of his ship designing capabilities, even though I realize it was foolish. I expect to see Doujin in 10 years designing ships for Lockheed Martin.
