that is the old HALO thread. I made a new one because as new leader, i can control the front page
ic- HALO is an orginization comprised of nations who have seen the rise in slaver nations, and wish to free the opressed peoples of those nations. They will follow the motto De Oppresso Liber.

Guidelines to join:
~MUST NOT PERMIT SLAVERY INSIDE THEIR BORDERS
~Will not use HALO members to wage war on other countries, regardless of actions against them.
~Must have a sizeable military of any tech level, unless joining as a diplomat

RULES:
~WILL NOT PERMIT SLAVERY ANYWHERE
~If slavery nations are found, they must be reported to the councel
~Will not engage any other member, regardless of their actions
~Will not engage a slavery nation without the councel's permission
~Will not join their puppets along with their regular nations

OOC: As intelligence chairman of HALO, I feel that it is primarily my area of responsibility to learn of your slavery IC if you approve of it. Would you allow me to start a thread later about an attempt by a multi-national HALO intelligence team to infiltrate your nation and determine if you keep slaves? And if yes, would you mind posting any information about your nation that is public knowledge, ie if you're future tech, modern tech, approximate military numbers if those are public, etc?

Orange state uses slavery, for criminals.

We admit to it, they serve their term and go free. But its slavery. And life inprisonemnt is lifetime slavery. The worst offenders are brainwashed and made to do dangerous and menial tasks, like a death penalty but we do something productive with the body and kill the mind.

(OOC: i think that that behavior is pure evil and would never condone it in RL, but im just playing the bad guy and i love it! Thats the point of RP afterall.... escapism and realsism rolled into one...)

Oh and we are future tech, please dont bother us. We wont bother you or spread our slaves outside our system anyway (and maybe a few allies and anyone who pays enough... ho hum)

Hadula can sentence convicts to periods of menial labor, but does not go to the lengths of slavery or brainwashing, we hardly condone this action. However, we do not consider this punishment as slavery in our nation, it is just that, punishment. It is unpaid untrained labor, construction, roadworking, cleaning, and other such lower tasks are usually given to these laborers as punishment.

Oh thats fair enough, once born, unless orphaned (and so trained for the army from birth) people are free to rise and fall on their merits.

OOC: Oh, and by the wayif you want to RP having spies active in my nation and stuff keeping slavery from crossing that line, thats okay. Like i said Im just not too keen on a series of wars for my sovereignity, i just wanted to help your RP.

OOC: I might write up what I hope to be the first part of the proposed RP tommorow. I'll send it via telegram over to you for approval, along with a proposed initial outline of somekind if I go ahead with it. Now, I say "if" because I don't think the RP would really have alot to work with if it was only Sdaeriji RPing himself and me RPing the entire recon team. I think the only way the RP would actually go anywhere is if a few other HALO nations would be willing to enter into the RP by assigning a few people (ie hackers, spies, commandos, etc.) to the team. Any HALO nations feel up to it? Right now, I don't imagine the team to be over 18 people at most, with the final number probably being less. I was hoping for volunteers when I mentioned that it would be a "multi-national HALO recon team", as opposed to something more along the lines of "a Colonial Intelligence Team".

Oh, and I'm sorry I was off-line for a few days. I left town to see my sister for a few days, just got back.
