Lorkhan

The Order had been planning this strike for decades. Their mastery of staying in the shadows and the hardships that they had suffered were finally about to pay off. Verkinova had been a part of The Order since birth, being born to parents who were founding members of the reborn cult. For two decades he had waited for this moment, and now on the twentieth anniversery of Kain's benevolent rule it was finally time for The Order to strike, and Verkinova was honored to know that he would deal the venom that would kill the nation's so called hero.
Verkinova mounted his gas powered sniper rifle and settled it down on the window sill that overlooked Revolution Square, the large park that twenty years ago to this day saw the end of a climatic rebellion between the tyrannical Akarthian Ruling Party and the several freedom fighting factions. It was here twenty years ago to this day that Erik Kervell leader of the coalition for freedom became Erik Kain, Prime Minister of Lorkhan. It was also here that Erik Kain would fall, and The Order would finally rise to power.
Verkinova had been instructed to cut off all communications with his surperiors. There would be no green light or go sign from the high clerics. Verkinova had to time this precisely or ages of plotting and manipulating would be lost, and Verkinova would be a hunted man both by his masters and the government.
The angel of death waited patiently in position as he looked through the scope. Prime Minister Kain had finally come up to make a speech and the crowd was in an uproar celebrating the Minister's twenty year reign that had brought prosperity to the people. This was the time when there would be the most commotion and chaos, when there would be so many flashes from cameras and noises from the crowd that by the time the authorities discovered what happened Verkinova would be long gone. This was the time to act.
The assassin held his breath and waited for the exact moment when the Prime Minister would leave an opening. Verk found his chance and took it. He squeezed the trigger firing the poison tipped bullet directly at Kain's heart, and a second later the leader was on the floor in a pool of his own blood. There was a breif moment of silence and disbelief as security forces hovered over their leader and carried him off. No one could believe what had just happened. Minister Kain was dead.
