OOC: For a november 03 nation yours should be bigger.

OOC = There may be an upper size limitation in terms of what's possible without damaging an economy, but I didn't think there was a lower size limitation :confused: I only have an army of about 30,000 or so, and a population larger than the United States... am I breaking rules too?

the royal navy doesnt use cruisers. It only uses 1 type of destroyer the type 42 soon to be replaced with the 45 (there anti aircraft ships by the way)

To be honest IH, the Type 25 is designed to be a cruiser, i accidently typed Frigate all the way through and now can't be bothered to undo it. I have some corvettes and destroyers on the way.

K i was just wondering. Im British and i didnt know that the RN didnt use cruisers, spose they dont have the budget (thank you Tony Blair). I prefer the American models because information on them is a lot easier to get, plus i read tom clancy which has a lot on it :)

don't put the blame entirely on TB. labour have shown far more commitment to defence spending than the tories having actually increased spending recently. Defence spending has been a on a fairly sustained downward trend sicne the end of WW2
The royal navy hasn't had a criuser since the 50s/60s IIRC as they simply haven't fitted our force role, which was the protection of mercahnt shipping (what frigates are for) and the defense of the carriers operating in support of the royal marines (what the larger frigates and destroyers are for).


I'm sure Hogsweat's navy does exactly what it is designed to do, it really is abotu tiem people actually though about what thier navy needs not just how many ships they can have, do you need carriers to defend your home waters and escort merchant men? no, not really is the answer. you only need them if you are going to invade soemone...

Does anyone here actually have the right to claim that they are in fact The Royal navy I mean, none of us are Actually The United Kingdom of Great Britain and certainly none of us can say that we have the right to say we have a 550 year Naval Record of domination. That's the only reason that they are called the Royal Navy and not the Royal British Navy or something as daft.

I feel the Royal Navy is something we may all use when refering to ourselves, but we should call each other the Royal (Enter Nation Here) Navy

e.g.The Royal Hawaiian Navy
or
The Royal Hogsweatian Navy

Thats what I was getting at. Just using points to my advantage to show that if there WAS just one Royal Navy between me and him, I would reserve the right.

OOC: Just oen point, I sunk some of the ships listed there and they can ungrade during combat (refering to the Falklands RP), otherwise good job.

Ah Prae - I removed the ships sunk in action at the falklands >.> if you compare the list. There is only one aircraft carrier listed here on Carrier Group One. ^.^
