Durscht sat in his repuslorchair, looking over the latest data from the Ruins.
Federation scientists had been diligently working on Temporal Technology for decades. The latest fruition of the research had been Nothingspace Shields.
However, an ancient city of the Ancestors had been generating quantum disturbances, giving off strange energy readings, etc. Archeologists and Linguists had reported old scars just vanishing, or color returning to white hair.
It was strange indeed.
The engravings in the Ancestor's language spoke of great power, and the great responsibility needed to contol it. There were mentions of devices, technology, beyond the wildest dreams of any person. Great capabilites, and great destruction.
It had been determined that Temporal Technology was what this spoke of. Apparently the Ancestors had developed a high level of temporal technology. Perhaps this could explain their mysterious disappearance after the devastation of the Great Evil...
Durscht ran some calculations over a field that would be much more powerful than the Level Four Temporal Shielding that the Federation had. However, there were still a few crucial elements that Federation scientists didn't understand. For one, how could we remove ourselves from the Universe completely? Thereby making the ship invulnerable from all but a collapse of time itself. There were more dillemmas than this that the Federation faced, but the greatest minds in all of Federated space had come together to work towards the ultimate development of more powerful technology for the Federation.
Experimental Temporal weapons had been developed, but nothing more than a simple Temporal distortion wave, annihilating torpedoes and beam cannons as though they never existed.
However, A treaty had been intercepted many months ago. It stated that severe retribution would follow for disturbing the timeline, and that destruction would follow shortly. From then on Federal Scientists had tread with caution, being extremely careful not to destroy anything that could possibly upset the Timeline of the universe.
Durscht threw himself onto his feet and walked. He didn't have any particular destination in mind, he just walked, head bent down to read the report. He wandered around, and after nearly an hour, he found himself deep in the very ruins which he was so engrossed reading about.
He found himself in a previously unexplored chamber, and before his wide-open eyes, he saw a glowing white cylinder, spinning above a sort of raised dias. White light shed from it in every direction, nearly blinding Durscht.
It spun, hanging above a receptor. Durscht immediately pulled out his Scanner and began to take energy readings from this device of the Ancestors.
------------
"That device was not a relic of the Ancestors. I don't care what you think, it wasn't."
It had been a very long day for Teman. This scientist had somehow stumbled upon the greatest achievement of the Federation. He had to make sure that he didn't reveal any of this. He had come on this mission for a single purpose, and he would carry that order out.
"That is the latest in our struggles. We got that off of Normandeicht just before the Nanite invasion. Millions died to buy us the time to escape with that core. It is of the utmost importance that you don't say a word about this."
With that, Teman leveled a CardioStun at Durscht's chest. He pressed the small black button.
Durscht fell to the floor with a loud thud. Dead.
ooc: I will speak with certain nations about this device to see if I can make it into what I plan it to be, or if I have to come up with some other uber-device... and more will come later...
If anyone would like to join in, please TG me...
