The History of Tnemrot: 1,491 Years of Struggle

Part I: The Unholy War of the Undead
It was the year 513 AD. The Year of the Scorpion was upon all of Tnemrot and the six tribes of Tnemrot were at peace with each other. The tribes, from largest to smallest were Gnireffus tribe, the Lufniap tribe, the Yresim tribe, the Cinatas tribe, the Nis tribe, and the Truh tribe. Each was led by their leaders, all of whom met under each new moon to discuss the going ons of the land and pray to the moon goddess, Luna (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/Luna.jpg). Each tribe worshipped Luna and her infinite beauty as their chief goddess. They were pagans and the ancient text told of a day when the gates of the Underworld would open and the armies of darkness would descend upon the land of Tnemrot to reek unholy havoc, mayham, and the slaughter of the innocents. The day came on the first lunar eclipse of the year. The gates to the Underworld (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/gatesofhell.jpg) opened at the conclusion of the eclipse and the armies of the dark descended upon the land of Tnemrot.

With the onslaught came years of fighting, 153 years of fighting. The armies of the undead (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/undead4.jpg) led by their four kings (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/undead3.jpg) fought thousands of battles with the combined armies of the six tribes of Tnemrot. The devastation was terrible, the most ever seen throughout the land and within forty-two years of fighting, the tribe of Nis was completely wiped out.

The fighting continued onward (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/undead2.jpg) as the armies of the undead went from tribe to tribe, fighting brutally. Each year brought more death and more bloodshed to the war-torn land of Tnemrot. Aided by black magic (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/undead5.jpg), the armies of the undead completely defeated and eradicated the tribe of Cinatas but in the year 660 AD, the armies of the undead, not lacking strength or numbers, began fighting the combined armies of the Gnireffus and the Lufniap tribes.

After eighty major battles over the course of six years, the armies of the undead fought with the armies of the largest tribes and each battle grew more and more in favor of the armies of the largest tribes. The final battle came in the year 666 during the first lunar eclipse. In this battle (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/undead1.jpg), the armies of the undead were defeated by the combined armies of the largest tribes. The victory of the tribes of Tnemrot came at the end of the battle when the tribal leaders and their superior tactics defeated the armies of the undead and their four kings.

When the defeat was finalized the armies of the two tribes announced a new age in the history of Tnemrot. Prosperity was at hand.

Part II: The Missionaries
In the year 854, Tnemrot's isolation was over. Catholic missionaries came to the land of Tnemrot with hopes of converting the "pagans" to Roman Catholicism. They built a monastery (http://www.siddharthasintent.org/images/monastery.jpg) in the central highlands of Tnemrot, along the main river and used it to raft up and down through the tribes to preach the gospels. But, they were not welcomed by the four remaining tribes of Tnemrot. A war ensued in 867, after 13 years of their presence. The war lasted four months as the armies of the four tribes assaulted the monastery day after day, fighting the some seven hundred and eight missionaries and their supporting people, another eighteen hundred and forty-eight people. All were slaughtered by the armies of Tnemrot in the largest slaughter since the end of the war with the armies of the undead. This ushered in the second age of peace and prosperity amongst the four tribes.

Part III: La Muerte Negra
European sailors and merchants arrived in Tnemrot during the winter of 1348. They brought with them many new trading products and a disease, the disease of the Black Death. At the time, Tnemrot was home to 7.58 million people, but at the end of 1351, the population was reduced to a mere 3.58 million, at least 4 million were killed during the 3 years of the plague. The hardest hit were the five major cities: Anthem, Milde, Harron, Burne, and Carnie.

Part IV: The Dragon of Anthem
Near the city of Anthem, which was populated by a fifth, new tribe. This new tribe consisted of members of all four tribes who departed their tribes to form a city located close to the river delta and coast line. They opened relations with trading, seafaring nations around Tnemrot and lived peacefully and tranquilly for some time. But it was not long before a dragon, the only one left in the nation, began harassing the bordering villages. Between the city and the villages there were a little over 600,000 people but in a few short years, by 1500, the population was reduced from 600,000 to 408,250.

Just before the third new moon of the year 1516, the four tribal leaders agreed to meet inside the city of Anthem, unaware of the dragon. The tribal leader of the tribe of Lufniap began his journey (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/dragonattack.jpg) to the city of Anthem amidst some controversy that there were several members of the tribe of Gnireffus waiting along the paths to attack and kill the tribal leader. This was only a rumor started by members of his own tribe with a vendetta against the tribe of Gnireffus.

Just four days away from the city of Anthem, the dragon attacked the tribal leader and his entourage. The meeting never took place and this was the first new moon that the goddess Luna was not prayed to and she unleashed unholy havoc in the form of earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornadoes. Many died and many more were injured in such ways that their kin were forever scarred.

Part V: The War of the Snake and the Scorpion
The Gnireffus tribe was the tribe of the scorpion and the Lufniap tribe was the tribe of the snake. In the year, 1516, the dragon of Anthem attacked and killed Lord Killgore of the Lufniap tribe. Jealous and envious deviants in the tribe with a vendetta against the tribe of Gnireffus sought justice and blamed them for the killing of their leader. This began the War of the Snake and the Scorpion. This war, lasting 488 years, caused upheaval and havoc throughout Tnemrot. The deaths of millions of soldiers and civilians on all sides and those not fighting is a number far in excess of forty million but the true number can never be known.

During those near 500 years, some one thousand battles were fought with over half of them resulting in massive slaughters. Throughout the years, the motives for war changed from mere vengeance to nation-building. As the war trudged on, the leaders of the tribe of Gnireffus fought for control of the land of Tnemrot to enact a government, a nation, and a civilization.

Throughout the 488 years, the four tribes fought constantly, fighting each other in an all-out battle royale. Each battle that was fought left casualties left and right, marring many a fields. But finally, victory was claimed in the year 2004 when the Lord Hades (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/lordhades.jpg) of the Gnireffus tribe and his Lady, Lady Rachel (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/Tnemrot/ladyrachel.jpg), defeated the tribe of Lufniap, thereby leaving the tribe of Gnireffus as the single, solitary tribe throughout all of Tnemrot. As the slaughters were laid to waste and the cities of Tnemrot calmed down, the population of Tnemrot was reduced to a mere 5 million.
