ETHNIC MINORITIES ROUNDED UP FOR MILITARY SERVICE

"Today, two infantry divisions and a tank division swept through Highfather, a city of thirty million and the capital of The Burnsian Desert, rounding up ethnic minorities. Military officials decline to comment on this situation, only saying that there was a lack of recruits for a supposed operation in Lybia. Reports indicate that no white residents have been taken captive, only native Burnsians and- hey! No! Stop! No!! Help! Help!"

The camera pans away to watch as two Burnsian soldiers drag away the newscaster, throwing her into a van.

May I ask what you are doing? Imprisoning people for no reason is against civil rights. Please explain or I will investigate myself.

We are bolstering our military ranks, and keeping the rabble under control. Did I mention that we have a new Queen? Her fiancee (sp?) is from Communist Mississippi.

"Well, well..." the First Minister, her feet propped up on her desk yawned lazily as she flicked through the morning papers.

"Well what?" The office's other occupant, the Deputy First Minister glanced up from his own papers.

"TBD, remember them? The one who lost Queen whatsherface, thingy, had that outfit with the thigamijigs... began with an "R" I think. Or a "H"... anyway, they lost her not to long ago?"

The Deputy's lips moved silently, then
"Didn't your nephew go to school with her? In that place in ViZion?"

"Yeah, that one. Alexius said she was fun. Or was that the other one? Not important. The country has just conscripted a bunch of ethnic minorities."

"And?"

"Ah, nothing. But it means we can expect another "evils of the world" speech in the Lords... honestly, the isolationists don't need to go digging, it's handed to them on a plate..."

"Should we prepare a response?"

"Why? It's not as if we care..."

"Good point..."

The two went back to reading their papers in silence.

Drafting or not it is still profiling and race discrimination. I may not be small but I will not stand for this. either you cease this at once or i wil have to take this to a high athourity or handle it, as best as i can, by myself, either diplomatically or with force.

Elliot was in the midst of his daily briefing; so far the news had been depressing from his advisors, but nothing out of the unexpected. The national news briefing had gone longer than expected, but he was patient; the day was lightly planned and he had plenty of time for the dozen Assembly-appointed ministers. Reclining in his plush black leather office chair, the Central Director began to casually question the group on some of his personal concerns.

"Now I appreciate your judgment with this information, but I have not heard anything about our current embassies and ambassadorial news. Is there anything of note from our diplomats?"

The advisor of international civil affairs, a man of large stature and youthful complexion, scrolled over the briefings from his data pad. "Looks like nothing, everything is status quo here given the international situation. Yeah, nothi... wait a second sir."

Central Director Elliot Schultz leaned forward, adjusting his glasses while anxiously staring at the advisor. Placing his hands on the table, he examined his other advisors' reactions; none of them looked as though they were very promising.

"Director, it's the Nation of The Burnsian Desert. We knew that things would drastically change following the assassination of their queen, but not to the point of this magnitude," the advisor gulped, "It looks as though their 'conscripting' non-Caucasians into their military to join their current military contingent in Libya. If I may say so sir, it looks as though it may be nothing more than..."

Director Schultz silenced the advisor with his hand, and stood from his chair. Turing away from the ancient and well used oak conference table, Elliot paced to the two story high picture windows looking over the City of Schultaria Prime.

"Over one hundred and sixty million live in this metropolis; one hundred and sixty million people with hopes, dreams, and a wish simply to see peace in the world. They are as diverse as the colors of the rainbow yet there is almost no crime and no motivation to hate here.

How I absolutely loathe those who specifically target ethnicity, regardless of circumstance. I was brought up blind to the divisions of race and gender and was taught not to hate because of differences, but to hate those who attempt to legitimize their biases.

When we first made diplomatic contact with The Burnsian Desert, relations between our two nations were impeccable; there were no divisions, no divergence of opinion, and no animosity. Nonetheless, that was years ago, and now look what they have made of themselves! Can they not see the path of ruin and devastation they are following? What's not to say that this mere conscription of non-Caucasians won't help to reinforce their ties to those unabashed racists who live less than 1,500 kilometers from our shores?"

Elliot turned around, his eyes bloodshot with anger and arms twitching from intense rage.

"ENOUGH OF THAT DAMNED NATION! GET OUR PEOPLE OUT NOW! NO EXCUSES; I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO THEM UNTIL I SAY THE MATTER IS FINISHED!"

In evaluating our security within our embassies abroad, we have found notable discrepancies with our telecommunication uplinks in our embassy within your nation. Though we trust your nation has not taken advantage of this predicament; our government has decided to recall all Schultarian diplomatic personnel so we can perform a thorough security search without the threat of divulging state secrets.

We thank you for your patience with this matter, and we hope to resume diplomatic contact with your nation soon.

Secret: Field Marshal Reginald Smith of Mississippi has drawn up plans for your nation to establish over 100 massive camps where the undesirables can be taken to be forced to work and earn money and such for the state. As they become too sick or weak to work, they can be gassed with VX. He would like to send a unit of 1,000 Republican Guardsmen from the engineer units into TBD to survey possible camp sites if you agree.

Ooc- The Mississippian Foreign Legion is very brutal and they don't coddle and baby the soldiers with benefits like the RG get (The RG get the best of everything to assure their continued loyalty no matter what)

The Nation of Ferratus fully supports these actions by TBD. We would be glad to assist by sending peacekeeping forces or members of our Elite Phoenix Guard, specialy trained in VIP protection and riot control, should the need arise.
