Mel Lastman nursed his broken leg, still training for the heated SlaniBall tournament as he picked up the newspaper. In absolute shock, he read the frontpage headline:
"The Most Serene Republic of Elf Landers Dissolves Government"
It had finally happened. After only one day of resisting the corrupt Toronto government, he had brought down the oppressive Elf Republic which ruled his city with an iron fist.
The article continued:
"It appeared that the oppressive Elf government just collapsed in on itself after former mayor Mel Lastman made public their lack of civil rights and political freedoms. Apparently, the dissolving of the Elf nation had been in the works for the past two months, and Lastman's declaration of Toronto Island as an independent state was the straw the broke the camel's back. With the Elf government gone, it would appear that Toronto Island has truly gained it's independence, and is finally a free nation."
Finally, Toronto was joined together in harmony. Now, his island could finally be at peace. His people were at last free.
