The Portland Iron Works have completed the design of the first battleship solely designed by Sarzonia. The Volunteer-class sports 12 18 inch guns in four triple turrets, and is heavily armoured to enable it to withstand modern missile attacks and the 16 inch shells of the Iowa-class battleships and other similarly armed battleships in service in many navies.

The ship is designed with two VLS systems, one port and one starboard. In addition, four CIWS mounts and six Fahrenstock missile mounts [OOC: Different name for the Patriot missile] provide additional protection against missile attacks. The ship also includes 18 20 mm AA guns in twin turrets, with seven each on the port and starboard sides and one turret of each fore and aft.

The ship is designed with four nuclear reactors and, as such, its range is limited only by nuclear fuel. It is ideal for coastline bombardments with its massive guns and its heavy armour. The ship is best suited for deep sea operations, with its 16 m draught making shallow water operation all but impossible.

The ship includes a double bottom and uses void spaces to lessen impacts and make survivability an advantage.

[OOC: I based this somewhat on the Yamato-class but added to the displacement since I'm basically adding an additional turret and somewhat more armour than the Yamato-class had.
