Communist Mississippi

DPUO told me it was okay to make the first move, then he'll reply.
Location:
Mississippian Libya. Just outside New Jerusalem. About 1/2 mile east of the border of Arabian Libya.
Time: 1400 hours.
The cool winds of the evening were beginning to pick up, the were coming early. A young soldier, scarcely over nineteen, was sitting on his T-98 tank, he was the driver, he was taking this brief moment of rest to enjoy a cigar, the good Mississippian tobacco... It was his last one, he'd have to enjoy it, remember the taste, it'd be a while before more came. Supplies had to come in from a long route, or by C-130s, and cigars were low on the priority list. CM had been flying in millions of shells and billions of small arms ammunition, ever since they learned of the intrigue against her commonwealth. The soldier was mostly thinking of his wife and one-year old son in Tripoli, they were only 25 miles away... But here on the border, mobilized and ready, he'd might as well be thousands of miles from home... He knew the order was going to come soon. Over 100 Commonwealth and Federal Divisions had been massed for this, joined by 2 million paramilitaries and 500,000 private citizens who were armed and equipped just like the soldiers... You'd never know they weren't in an army unless they told you... Well they'd probably say, "We're a private army, an army of the white citizenry", but anyway, he knew they were good and determined soldiers, they'd do well.
Finally the order came, the colonel in his tank opened the hatch and shouted, "Hurry up Tom, put that thing out and get in here!". He tossed the cigar down, sighing, he so wanted to finish it... But that wasn't going to happen, the colonel would never let him smoke inside the tank, he hated smoke.
Tom got into the tank and pulled the hatch down, readying to move out...
Along the border of AL/ML, had been amassed a great army, a great army indeed.
2 million paramilitaries organized into the same standard organization as Commonwealth Reserve Divisions. (Except these paramilitaries lack howitzers and the heaviest weapons they have are MILANs and 81mm mortars. But they are trained to about the same level as Federal Army Infantry)
500,000 private citizens, organized into the same standard organization as Commonwealth Reserve Divisions. (Except these people have only assorted heavy weapons. Maybe a few odd mortars, howtizers. The most common weapons are RPG-7s, M-14Bs, AK-74s, M-16A2s, whatever they had in their house. For them, this is an adventure. They have formal training though, and can be counted at least about as good as most reserve units)
I'm just going to count the Paramilitaries and Private Citizens as "Private Divisions"
Commonwealth forces in the attack.
5 Commonwealth Infantry Divisions
3 Commonwealth Armored Division
4 Commonwealth Mechanized Division
1 Commonwealth Marine Divisions
1 Commonwealth Parachute Divisions
20 Commonwealth Reserve Divisions
140 Commonwealth Private Divisions
Federal Forces in the attack.
20 Reserve Divisions
1 Parachute Divisions
1 Rapid Response Airmobile Division
4 Regular Army Infantry Divisions
1 Mechanized BMP Division
1 Mechanized Warrior Division
1 Regular Army Armored Division
The forces were all readying to move against Arabian Libya, where large concentrations of DPUO forces had been stationed under the guise of protecting AL. They knew DPUO forces would seek to use AL as a staging ground to attack ML... They had to move fast and catch them by surprise, at least try to... They figured that DPUO would know they were coming, but not in what strength, where, or when... But they were coming, and they were going to crush the forces massed in AL, at least that was the plan.
100 Commonwealth Libyan B-52s were being loaded with ALCMs in the event they needed to shut the Suez Canal down.. Preparations were already beginning to sink 20+ merchant ships in the Suez Canal to make it useless, at least for a while.
Libyan and Egyptian u-boats were prowling the mediterranean with orders to "Sink without warning, any armed or unarmed ship bearing a hostile flag."
9 Los Angeles class attack submarines
9 Galaxy class attack submarines
9 Virginia class attack submarines
Within a few minutes, the masses of howitzers, SPA, mortars, RPGs, and rocket artillery would come crashing down all along the AL/ML border, as the massive "Army Group West Libya" crashed across the border in a massive juggernaut that would seize Zuwarah and Ghadamis to prevent their being used as a massive staging area by hostiel forces.
The signal was given, the soldiers in the tanks began to drive forward, the BMPs advanced, it was going to be a race againts time. The enemy could reinforce AL by sea. But if Zuwarah was taken quickly enough, it'd be denied to them and they'd have to launch costly amphibious attacks against units entrenched on beaches.
It was all a race against time... And CM high command knew their T-98 tanks would have problems in Arabian Libya... They needed to move fast, and AL was not the sort of terrain for moving fast. But fortunately, those seeking to use AL against ML, had built large networks of roads... If the roads could be held open and the key intersections seized, it might just work.
AL border guards near the main crossing on the coastal highway, repored, "My God! There are millions of them! Coming straight for us!"
Units of the Commonwealth air force wereflying cover:
Total of the ML commonwealth air force.
2,000 F-16Ds
600 Su-25s
600 MiG-31s
100 MiG-41s
200 F-35s
100 B-52s
Note there are also 10,000 federal air force, F-16Ds and a few 100 other assorted craft in ML. Also those numbers don't include Mi-24s, as those are permanently assigned to army units to provide Close-air-support.
Soon the sands of Libya would be stained red, awash with blood...
