Bonstocknian Ultimatum to _Taiwan, Sino

Bonstock
20-08-2004, 03:59
An open message is sent to the Sino and _Taiwan:

Resolved, by measure of the Riksdag of the Federal Republic of Bonstock, Maropian Coast, and the Sakishima Islands

Addressed to General Lui of Sino, and President Zhang of _Taiwan:

Dear sirs, and whomever else it may concern:

Tensions along our borders have increased greatly over the past weeks. The nations of Sino and _Taiwan have forced us into this position. It is our stated desire to avoid war, and we shall do everything possible to avoid that.

However, we are forced to set a list of demands on the nations of Sino and _Taiwan, so that war is prevented, and peace may reign over the war-ravaged continent of Asia.

We do this in response to the current aggressive, offensive, shameful, and counter producive policies of the Armed Republic of Sino and the Republic of _Taiwan.

First of all, in or demands, Sino shall not be allowed to deploy any troops to the island of _Taiwan, or to any territory near sovreign Federal Republic lands whereby their presence may be deemed a threat to the Federal Republic.

Second, that _Taiwan allow Bonstocknian embassies and consulates in its territory to reopen, and allow free passage of civilians across the _Taiwanese/FRBMCSI borders.

Third, that _Taiwan may not deploy artillery, short or intermediate range ballistic missiles, or offensive strategic bombers, within 20 kilometers of the sovreign Bonstocknian territory of Maropian Coast.

Fourth, that _Taiwan may not conduct major military exercises within 10 kilometers of the Maropian/_Taiwanese borders.

Fifth, that Sino must not deploy naval units within 300 kilometers of sovreign Bonstocknian territory, and must recognize sovreign Bonstocknian possessions in the East Asia area.

If these are not complied with in the said amount of time, the Federal Republic will seal off borders with _Taiwan, launch a maritime embago on _Taiwan, and sever diplomatic relations with that nation. Such measures are already in place with Sino. In addition, if not complied to, Bonstock will, as a defensive measure, deploy offensive, short and intermidiate range, nuclear tipped ballistic missiles, along with nuclear armed strategic bombers, to bases in Maropian Coast, the process of which has already been initiated.

If they are complied to, Bonstock will reestablish diplomatic relations with Sino, will unfreeze _Taiwanese assets in Bonstock, will allow _Taiwanese diplomats out of house arrest, and will agree not to deploy offensive missiles, strategic bombers, or chemcal or biological weapons to Maropian Coast. Also, Bonstock will refrain from large scale military exercises near the Maropian borders. Un-armed civilians will be allowed to cross the borders unhindered. Finally, the FRB will agree to deploy no more then 30,000 Bonstocknian regular troops to Maropian Coast.

We ask for a reply as soon as possible, or action will be taken.

Again, it is not our will to breach the fragile peace, but we shall do it if it is necissary for our security. Our best regards,

Harald, son of Gustav, lord of all Bonstocknians.

When asked to comment on the situation, President Edward Grove made the following statement;

"Although we are friends with the people and leaders of Bonstock, we cannot help but note that they are not in a position to set guidlines for the the Sinose and Taiwanese Governments. We do not expect that they will comply to any restrictions, nor would we if put in the same situation.

Officially, we have neutrality in the conflict, however unofficially our support lies behind Sino and Taiwan. We hope for a peaceful resolution."

Chellis condemns this ultimatum, and sees it at just another reason to deny Bonstock membership into NATO.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs has also issued a statement.

We disagree with Bonstock setting the guidlines for another nation to follow. We will remain Neutral, however any support Bonstock will need..we will give.
Agrigento
20-08-2004, 04:54
The Republic of Agrigento stands by its Taiwanese and Chinese Allies. The Federal Republic of Bonstock is regarded as a dangerous militarized state, whose very presence threatens the safety of the entire Asian continent and those who reside in the Pacific Ocean. The delicate peace that fell across the region after the Bonstockian War is kept only by those measures that you seek to remove in your list of unreasonable demands.

While we wish for peace in the region, that peace should not involve the weakening of the island of Formosa, and we feel that such methods would only encourage Bonstockian aggression. The very same aggression that our forces have died fighting against alongside our Chinese, and East Islandian brethren, on the Island of Japann

Any further demands, or attempts at extortion, shall receive the same response as this attempt.

20-08-2004, 05:19
The Bedou people having significant interest in the region bordering(namely citizens) Sino to the West condemn these threats.
While we appreciate the Bonstockian dilemma an alternative to Nuclear threat must be found.
However should vessels come with in range of Bedou citizens or citizens of the Bedou Protectorates of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Bedou will in kind, be forced to use detterant measures of equal threat value.
The estimated none combative Bedou presence in the region is 55 million citizens. With that number nearly doubling when Bedou combative forces are added into the equation.
Mathmatically that leads to a catastrophy of epic proportions.
We urge the Bonstockians to seek alternative means with respect to this issue.
Sultan Mohammed Bin Al Deeb.

To those who condemn our propositions:

We know it is sad of us to resort to such tactics, but we see it as needed for our security. If Sino and _Taiwan want peace, they will agree to the terms. And, keep in mind, that the terms put limits on Bonstocknian actions as well. We will limit troop numbers, we will not deploy offensive weapons to Maropian Coast, we will allow free passage of civilians, along with others. So, in that sense, we see it as a fair deal. While we are willing to be leniant, we must also make sure that our security needs are adressed.

Official Statement

The Commonwealth of The Freethinkers wishes it to be known that we stand fully behind our ally of _Taiwan in this crisis and that, although we wish most sincerely that this situation is resolved peacefully, we will not hesitate to stand firm shoulder to shoulder against aggression.

As we previously stated, we hope the situation is resolved without conflict and that normal relations are restored. We hope for peace, and believe that reason will see out in the end.

Theodor Barham, Prime Minister

OOC: Yeah, a little one sided, so I do apologies to Bonstock. The above opinion is IC and that of the Freethinker Government only. We believe allies should stick together, so thats why Im saying this here.

A new Bonstocknian transmission is delivered:

The Federal Republic will release all _Taiwanese diplomats from house arrest, unfreeze _Taiwanese assets in Bonstock, and reopen Maropian Coast borders with _Taiwan, if _Taiwan agrees to reopen Bonstocknian embassies in its country and allow diplomats to return.

In addition, the Federal Republic will withdraw all strategic bombers and intermediate range ballistic missiles if Sino and other nations agree not to deploy troops to _Taiwan, and if Sinoese ships promise not to venture into Bonstocknian waters.

If Sino agrees to sign a non-agression pact with the Federal Republic, and agrees to recognize Bonstocknian possessions in the Far East, then Bonstock will reopen diplomatic relations with Sino, and allow Sinoese investment in the Bonstocknian economy.

We hope that this agreement will lead to peace.

Daylam sees this attempt at peace before bloodshed as well-thought out, firm, and completely obeyable. Therefore, the entire might of the Daylami Empire lies behind Bonstocknian authority, and as such, the various military bases on Luzon are open to Bonstocknian military forces. We remind Taipei that our missiles are quite easily in range, and naval forces not at all out of striking range. You will agree with the Bonstocknian ultamatum, or you will be dealt with.

We are forced into the position of deploying three Hurricane Ballistic missile submarines into the region(this does not include the Joint Task Force of Hibernian Nations). Strike options being a retaliation on any nation who makes "First Strike" with Nuclear arms.
If you must go to war, you will not endanger Bedou citizens, or the Tajiks or the Kyrgys or the Daylamis left in our care, without endangering your own.
If a conventional war is fought, the Kyrg Tajik regions will not provide aid or shelter to Sino or Bonstockian forces or allied forces, any military aircraft will be considered agressive and shot down.
With all due respect if war is brought to our doorstep it will not stay there long.

Although Blue Group had previously been involved in the hunt for the rogue submarine Pearl Sea, it now found itself deploying in force to the Eastern China Sea area round Taiwan. Not only did attack submarines (sharks) go, but barracudas, several hundred meter long ballistic missile submarines, also deployed, patrolling a random pattern, maintaining radio silence from command.

Green Group, tasked to the Atlantic, finds itself pulled off duty there and sent to reinforce Blue Group submarines in the East China Sea.

So far, however, nothing has happened, except for the fact that Bonstockian crews may find it difficult to shadow submarines with destroyers.

HOwever, rapid deployment forces and special operations groups are being deployed en masse to the nearby areas of PRC China and Okinawa.

The Republic of Agrigento shall never cease to support any people against the imperialistic actions of Bonstock and it's ilk. Even if that means war against Allanea, war against Zecro, or war against the very legions of hell, we shall never surrender, never submit, and never back down.

Today Agrigento, alongside its great and noble ally East Islandia, continue to pledge their support for China and Taiwan. Bonstock and its allies can try to intimidate us with hollow threats of force, and nuclear weapons, however we shall never bow down, except to our own convictions of virtue, honor and freedom.

"East Islandia is mobilizing its forces."

"Good thing we already had ours ready... we should co-ordinate our movements with them."

Secure Message to East Islandia

Despite our hopes for a peaceful outcome, we must be prepared for a military engagement again. Should such and event occur, we should try to strain his military power as much as possible by forcing his forces into several fronts.

Already his forces in the Maropian Coast will face the combined Taiwanese/Sinoese forces, his Sakishima's are threatened by Hudecian invasion fleets. However, we must divert more forces away from his principle defences if we are to be successful.

As well, Bonstock must be kept off balance. Our actions should come as a surprise to him and should not be so predictable.

Secret message to Hudecia:

As always, our Hudecian allies are one step ahead of our foes. We suggest wide scale infantry assaults, penetrations, and heavy bombing to force them to capitulate.

Iuthian Diplomatic Corps statement regarding the Bonstock Incident

Concidering all the evidence presented to us by our allies we would have to agree that they in fact did not break any international laws by expelling Bonstockian diplomats and concidering the reasons presented we would have acted in the same manner.

The fact that Bonstock has responded with immediate arrest of _Tiawanese diplomats, including those with diplomatic immunity as well as the freezing of assets signals their guilt in the matter... the fact of the matter is that they were caught spying and their reaction, instead of acting responably, is to take offence and start threatening our ally with nuclear weapons.

And over what, the fact that their leaders feel insulted by these legitimate actions? Hell, we've kicked diplomats out of my nation for less then this and no one has threatened us with war... perhaps if we were to insult the wife of their leader we would be threatened with nuclear weapons too.

We fully support our _Tiawanese allies against these acts and offer our assistance in any matter they my ask of us, including but not limited to military forces.

We understand that this situation currently requires diplomacy and as such we are not going to deploy anything unless we are asked to do so at the right time. However we are going to start mobilising forces back home just in case they are needed. We hope that diplomacy can work but so far we have seen what little diplomacy Bonstock has offered and it seems to be mostly about nuclear threats and shouting... so our confidence isn't too high.

Should the outcome be worked out peacefully we will concider not placing Bonstock on a trade embargo... but it remains to be seen if Bonstock officials have the guts to take responcability for their actions, so we won't get our hopes up.

Foriegn Minister Mick Lakely, Iuthian Diplomatic Corps

OOC Additional Information: Ok guys, a little additional information for your military buffs to look over as you no doubt are going to claim some form of intel on my mobilisation... seeing as I'm not going to post you a nice handy list for you to wank over you can deal with the basic intel I'll tell you about now.

Basically Iuthia's military bases are showing more activity as Iuthian forces start to mobilise, naval assets are moving around in Iuthian waters and generally a whole lot more movement is going on, indictating a reasonable large force being brought into a prepared state.

Numbers aren't clear, I don't want to wank hard over the figures of my fictional military hear, but I will say that you could guess anything inbetween 50-250'000 soldiers, seeing as your actual view from a spy satalite is pretty limited and that the figure may be bloated or not because of logistical support making it seem larger. Your intel can't be specific because you aren't actually in Iuthia to confirm anything other then "Hey, I think thats a military base" but nevermind, numbers aren't important... whats important is that we've started to get prepared just in case I have to be dragged kicking and screaming into this.

The Omzian Democratic Federal Republic is disappointed that Bonstock has taken such actions against our allies in _Taiwan. We feel, as with our allies such as Iuthia, that the expulsion of Bonstockian diplomats by the government on _Taiwan is not without reason, nor does it involve the breaking of any international laws.

Instead, threats of the deployment of nuclear weapons, the request for a government to accept ridiculous demands, and the utter disrespect for diplomatic rights and immunity of the Bonstockian government is far more disgusting. The disrespect for coopreation, stability, and human life by the Bonstock government through threats of deployment of nuclear weapons against the nation will worsen the situation. Therefore, we hope that it is best for Bonstock to cease their threats and consider alternative methods of resolving the situation while respecting the rights of foreign diplomats.

Therefore, we feel, like our Iuthian counterpart, that peace and possible negotiations is cruical to solve this impending crisis. We hope that in this case, diplomacy and peace would emerge instead of war and ravage, and that possible bloodshed and loss of human lives by war and nuclear weapons on both sides could be avoided. As much as this crisis may be worsening, we will give peace a chance. We also hope that Bonstock would stand down with the threats of using nuclear weapons, as the usage of such weapons would only bring devastation and loss of lives for not only the participating nations, but neutral neighbours, where nuclear weapons would only produce negative effects.

However, we continue our support for _Taiwan to ensure that sovereignty is not lost and peace continues on. But if the situation esculates, we are afraid that we will support our ally more by various means.

OOC: Just so it is understood in two previous threads my allies have no less then 3 fleets in the region because a retaliatory invasion of Sino was planned in the event military force was used on me.
So while we are not supporting anyone, I suggest you contact Erinin who is commanding the JDF and make sure you dont bump our rubber duckies, it is small tub.
Also several nations have already present naval forces who were persueing a rogue East Islandia sub, very dangerous waters to deploy in.

Lord Harald stepped off his plane, and made quick for his bunker. After briefing of the events occuring, he spoke, "Though we have half the world arrayed on our side, the rest is arrayed against us. Obviously the nukes wont work, even if they did scare _Taiwan greatly. We must revise our ultimatum, release the _Taiwanese diplomats from house arrest, and unfreeze _Taiwanese assests in Bonstock."

"But sir, will it be taken as a sign of weaness?"

"To Sino, perhaps, but to the international community, no. If Sino's allies want to fight for nothing, they shall. Now we should do this quick. I'm missing the Xiagou royal coronation."

"Yes, at once, m'lord."

Immediatly, all _Taiwanese diplomats in Bonstock are released, and given the option of returning to _Taiwan if they wish. All _Taiwanese assets in Bonstock are unfrozen. Also, nuclear intermediate range ballistic missiles are deactivated, and shipped home. _Taiwanese Embassies, however, are still closed, to remain so until _Taiwan agrees to reopen Bonstocknian embassies.

A new, carefully worded message is sent.

To _Taiwan, Sino, and all involved:

1. Bonstock will agree to expell foreign soldiers from Maropian Coast and the Sakishimas if _Taiwan will expell foreign troops from its territory.

2. Bonstock will recognize Sinoese possessions in China and open up diplomatic relations with Sino if Sino recognizes Bonstocknian possessions in Maropian Coast and the Sakishima islands.

3. Bonstock will withdraw all short and intermediate range ballistic missiles from Maropian coast and the Sakishima islands.

4. Bonstock will allow _Taiwanese embassies to reopen if _Taiwan will allow Bonstocknian embassies to do the same

5. Bonstock would like to agree to a non-agression pact with Sino and _Taiwan

6. Bonstock will apologize for unwarranted acts of espionage committed by Bonstocknian agents

If there are any other terms that anyone would like to present, feel free to do so.

Lord Harald looked impatient. Waiting outside the Army Signal Interception office, he looked at the clock several times. Finally, someone came out.

"Sir," he said, "the message says: something always, our Hudecian..."

"Give me that," Lord Harald demanded. He siezed the paper, and read intently.

"Send a message to the Islandians and Hudecians. We mean not war with them. In fact, we think war is very much avoidable. We've withrawn our nukes, and we've withrawn our ultimatum. That should be enough to keep everybody from war, for now."

"But sir, they may figure out we just broke their codes!"

"Well, then send the message to all allied with _Taiwan and Sino. We should be sure to keep this situation from boiling over. We all know the consequences of a war."

"Yes, sir."

Meanwhile, at one of over 100 SS-20 missile sites

"Colonel, we have the withdrawal message."

"Good, sergeant." Turning to another officer, he said, "Major, direct the operations office to oversee the implementation of procedure K."

"Yes, sir."

All the missiles were loaded on their mobile launchers, and went to Hualien, where they were loaded on ships or C-17 aircraft, and sent back to Bonstock.

Please do not do so. The crisis is still going on. Only if Sino and other nations withdraw troops from _Taiwan will I ask my allies to leave.

However, nuclear weapons, strategic bombers, and the like shall be forbidden, as they would fan the crisis.

I'm withdrawing ground forces. Tell your allies to withdraw too.

Xiaguo also withdraws 3/4's of their troops now only, 2,000 in Taipei.

Here's a map I made, it acurately protrays Sino, Xiaguo, and Taiwan = territories. I am not sure if I got the tiny strip of Maropian Coast correct though.

As of the current time, all foreign troops have left Maropian Coast.

We also ask that _Taiwan take the initiative to allow the reopening of Bonstocknian embassies, and if that occurs, Bonstock will allow the ropening of _Taiwanese embassies.

Let us see to the peaceful advance of our region. However, due to the recent bugging of the Taiwanese island, the Xiannese intellegence Agencies have recomended that we to hold stronger security measures for the Bonstockians since they have lost much trust from us. The Bonstockian Embassy will be moved from the Capital center farther away from the Palace.

Imperial Conferences are held daily in the Hall of SUpreme Harmony. Special Security measures such as the wave blocking walls will not allow radio waves or any waves of any amount go in or pass out of the palace. Therefore, meaning no radio nor mircrowaves. However, it is available in the Royal Chambers and also microwaves can be located in the Cafetorium where such walls have not been placed.

The Bonstockian Embassy is moved however, to a larger operating building since we have noticed the concerns of overcrowding. The Embassy will be relocated down to a new strret, Embassy road, where most of the embassies will be relocated. It is at the western wing of the city.

The Guards let her in escorted by another guard. They are to enter the manager's office before they can pass another gate. Then she will go under screening and tests before she is admitted into the Emplotment Agency of the Forebidden City, Offices. There, she will be interviewed and tested on skills.
