Old Gondor

In this post I am trying to open your eyes to the great nation that is Old Gondor. I wasn't sure if this was the right forum to post it on, but i hope it is. To see the pictures, click on the links below.

Old Gondor:

National Animal- The Mumakil: An enormous war beast, the Mumakil, despite being an animal, can smash apart tanks using the latest genetic engineering technology. Infantry can be positioned in the howdah, an large wooden frame that can carry passengers. the men in the howdah can shoot with their prefered firearm from the safety of the howdah, which can be reinforced with a bullet-proof dome if necessary.
The greatest advantage in war when using Mumakil is their size. Bearing the enormous war towers packed full of Gondorian sharp-shooters, they charge into the midst of battle, trampling and crushing their enemies, men and vehicles alike, under their massive feet, their spiked tusks swaying perilously, impaling those in their way.
Mumakil are available for you to buy in the Old Gondor Seige Equipment store, located in this forum.

Capital city- Minas Tirith: Minas Tirtih, capital of Old Gondor, is a vast and elegant city, built in seven layers of stone which have been carved into the hill so that it looks less like the creation of men's hands, but more like a settlement hewn out of the earth by giants. Each level is ringed by a wall and battlement and a gate set into each wall at different points, so that the paved road which climbs towards the seventh level zig-zags its way to the summit. The topmost circle rises more than 700ft above the Great Gate which is set into the first level, and the view down is sheer and vertiginous.
At the summit lies the Citadel, which contains the High Court, the Palace of the Fountain and the White Tower of Ecthelion, where the white banner of the Stewards flutters 1000ft above the plain.
Minas Tirith is a mighty fortification indeed. Seemingly impregnable, for there is no access into the city save the Great Gate, which is well guarded indeed. At its back Mount Mindolluin rises sheer and its lower skirts are hedged with ramparts right up to the unscalble precipice. Its walls are high and massively thick, unconquerable by any means, and its battlements afford cover to snipers. It is the greatest stronghold in all of Old Gondor.

Leader- Denethor: Denethor II (2930-present), son of Ecthelion II and Steward of Old Gondor, sets the prosperity and safety of his homeland above all, and is willing to take any risk to safeguard the Gondorean borders from any threat, particularly that from Mordor. Proudly upholding the honor of his family and disregarding all kind advice of Zubin, his most trusted advisor, who was his father's advisor before he was his, and he soon fell from pride to conceit. Denethor has never been on friendly terms with Zubin, considering him a ‘bearer of ill tidings’ and has never heeded his advice even when much more than his pride was at stake. Being interested in the lore of Zubin must have brought Faramir, Denethor’s younger son, into the Steward’s disfavour.

Here are some of Gondor's soldiers and units

Basic Soldier- Gondor Knights: Don't be fooled by their simple medieval armour, these suits of armour are bullet-proof and are resistant to bomb shrapnel. The soldiers are among the best trained in the region, and will folow any order given to the letter.

Advanced Soldier- Citadel Guard:Founded as an order of elite guards answerable only to the leader of Old Gondor, the Citadel Guards are one of the earliest institutions of the Kingdom of Old Gondor. Only the best warriors that Old Gondor has to offer are picked to join the Guard, to be clad in their ancient armour and bearing weapons of great honour. The men themselves are tall, proud and steady in battle. The Guards protect the Steward and the sacred places Minas Tirith with resolute devotion, and will stop at nothing to defend their homeland.

Faces of Old Gondor.

Beregond of Old Gondor: Beregond, son of Baranor, is a thoughtful and quiet-spoken man. He was promoted to Citadel Guard after many years of both dedicated and loyal service on both sides of the River Anduin. Noble and Honest, he is possesed of unshakable honour and good in combat. Like all Citadel Guards, Beregond is dedicated to the ideals of Old Gondor, buthe is no automaton, and is likely to question his orders if the contradict his feelings of right and wrong. Though assigned to Boromir as a personal Guard in his early days, beregond's true and overriding loyalty lies with Denethor's other son, Farmir, under whom he learnt his trade as a sniper.

Boromir, Captain of the White Tower: Boromir, son of Denethor, is Old Gondor's boldest and most able commander, a master of all skills as a soldier. As Denethor's heir, Boromir's life has been guided towards the distant day when he will ascend to the stewardship of Old Gondor, a position that has been held by his family for thousands of years. Though the blood of the Westernesse does not run as true in him as his father or brother, Boromir is noble in aspects and proud of spirit.
Wherever he fights, efforts are redoubled, strength rekindled and victory snatched from the very pits of despair- for his fearlessness inspires the people of Old Gondor, and his voice is able to rally them against the direst threat. Boromir serves his father loyally, and would willingly defend his people to the last breath, be it his father's wish or not.

Faramir, Captain of Old Gondor: Captain of Old Gondor, the younger son of Denethor. While Boromir was on his journey away west, Faramir was appointed Captain of the White Tower in his stead. His duty was to watch the borders of Old Gondor. Unlike Boromir, Faramir’s interests are not only warfare and fighting, and he is also fond of art and music. Because of his rebellious character, and his friendship with Zubin, Faramir soon fell into disfavor with his father. Despite Faramir's dislike for war, he is a valiant man in battle, and is loved by the soldiers. During the retreat from Osgiliath to Minas Tirith several years ago, Faramir was shot in the chest, and was fatally wounded. He was saved from death by the healing hands of Arthus, the Mage of the Citadel.
