Description
This spacecraft/aircraft is unsual in its make up. It uses a deltawing shape giving it its steath capabilities. It is powered by a General Electric F-118-GE-100 engine placed above the SCRAMJET engine, the craft's main propulsion engine. Due to this combination of engine systems, the Stingray can serve as an aircraft flying along an atmospheric flight path, it can serve as a missile, flying along a ballistic flight path, or it can serve as an orbiter, in which it can stay up in orbit for however long, drop its missiles, and reenter safly, landing on its own power at home to be rearmed with more warheads. This concept will hopefully lower the costs for nuclear arsenals, allowing for more of these craft to be made and reused over and over.

The warheads carries are Mk 75C, 5 megaton warheads which can be preprogrammed to strike a specific target, or can be programmed in flight to strike a target. The warheads are jettisoned from inside the weapons bay. The warhead also has stealth capabilities and also a limited fuel supply to fine tune its reentry path before it begins the reentry process.

No more information can or will be released on this system at this time.

This sounds almost exactly like a nuclear armed version of hypersoar.

OOC: That pic does not look at all the right shape for incorporating a SCRAMjet engine.

OOC: ACS...shhhhhhh.....technically speakin, a nation can always change the design of an engine around. Doesnt exactly have to look like somethin from the real world, but the concept is still feasable :-P

OOC: Would be better to use a sky ramp type launch vehicle, removes the need for a jet engine on the actual craft as a jet powered sled provides the required acceleration to start the Scramjet as well as removes the expensive need for rockets at any stage I've got real world information detailing it all if you want details. Also if you're interested in a joint-project, as I'm going to do it once I find time, I'm listening.

OOC:
hmm...never thought of that. Guess it would be a lot more efficient and would allow for more or bigger warheads to be held. Sure im open to the idea.

IC:
Perhaps Credonia and Tom Joad can team up and create an updated version to the NLS-1 or perhaps an entirely new weapon all together. Were open to ideas and we shall certainly come up with some ourself.

Got information on it?

OOC:Trust me not only will you have greater range and payload it'll be far cheaper to operate.

IC:
The Foreign Commissary considers the benfits of such a proposal as far outweighing any considerations regarding military development with a foreign power. The convening of a joint team to assess our combined capabilities, both material and technical, should be conducted with the utmost urgency yet not forgetting regards for security. As such we recommend that the project be conducted within our borders, our nation boasts physical isolation and a layered, almost xenophobic regard, to national integrity.

Very well, i suppose we can build the weapon within your nation, but should we allow that, then Credonia will retain all original ownership rights to anything produced since it is coming from a Credonian made design, based on Credonian made technology (to a limit obviously).

OOC: Do you have MSN or aim so we can get together and plan this out a bit more thoroughly?

OOC: Think I've got a messenger account around...

IC:
Credonia may retain rights to anything that is purely of its own devising, all other aspects will either be jointly owned or under our ownership. A standard matter really, let us come together in person and discuss matters in detail.
