The M79 grenade launcher was designed to fire a 40mm grenade more accurately than when fired from a rifle grenade launcher. CPPBR= River Patrol Boat (PBR)

The River Patrol Boat (PBR) is designed for high speed riverine patrol operations in contested areas of operations and insertion / extraction.

The PBR is heavily armed and vital crew areas are protected with ceramic armor. The weapons loadout on this craft includes both single and twin .50 caliber machine gun mounts, 40mm grenade launchers, M4 mortar 60mm, optional M60 machine guns and small arms.


The hull is reinforced fiberglass with two Jacuzzi type waterjet pumps for propulsion. The unit can operate in shallow debris filled water. The craft is highly maneuverable and can turn 180 degrees and reverse course within the distance of its own length while operating at full power. Engine noise silencing techniques have been incorporated into the design and improved over the years. The combination of relatively quiet operation and its on board surface search system makes this unit an excellent all-weather picket as well as shall water patrol and interdiction craft.

When they come to the point inserted, they seak heat like missiles do.

Now, the wing solution you gave wouldn't work, as bullets travel faster than most missiles that use that method for shorter distances.

However, you could be creative, and if you were Post-Modern Tech, maybe a laser system that uses magnets to change the bullet's course by interacting magnetism fields. You just got to think about it, and see if it could work. Remember, that there are always mistakes.

As for Kelvar, unless it is pretty much made of lead or stronger material (and coincidently, heavier) it won't work like. Maybe something to reduce the effects, but unless its energy/metal, its not going to completely eliminate.

You could create active-armour kevlar vests - where the vest actively detects the incoming threat - and fires a small shape charge to slow (or stop) the incoming threat. This would be future tech, the the technology does exist for military vehicles.

I don't think anyone was necessarily saying "this is a god-mode - you can't do this" people were simply asking for clarification (ooc) on how things work.

And I gave it, but anyway, its gone now and I will be starting an RP soon about how I discover them etc..

Compleeetely off topic, but weren't there heatseeking bullets in The Fifth Element? Or were they pre-locked... I don't recall if they explained how they worked in the movie, does anyone else?

The physics are one of two things first internalized 2 externalized (option FT)

Internal would mean that there would have to be a bullet inside the bullet? using the internal fuel mechanism to fire out of the first one using an explosive force of some type. Take into account a neodynium magnet. If you have two of them set to colide at a given angle then it would cause the shards to explode at a given trajectory. Of course the size of the bullets would increase dramatically, fragmentation using smaller bullets would be posible.

Also if you had a 'force field' (not really FT very posible right now) that could create a strong magnetic force at a certain angle (repulsion to change the vector direction)

take for example the JFK assasination exploding bullets could explain the multiple trajectories also magnetically homed bullets could explain appearance from nowhere.

Of course levitating a bunch of bullets then repulsing them would require a pretty strong magnet.

Effecting the trajectory of a magnetic bullet might be easier. I'm guessing you wouldneed some pretty strong fields. And the heat seeking would probably require sensors that guide the bulletes externally not internally.
