Bonstockian Diplomats expelled

_Taiwan

Following the discovery of a listening device later determined to be of Bonstockian origin in the Taipei Presidential Palace, President Zhang has expelled Bonstockian diplomats from Taipei and ordered a shut-down of Bonstockian embassies in Taiwan.

Suspicions were first raised when a listening device was found by a visitor during the recent Sino-Taiwan diplomatic exchanges. Further analysis then revealed that the components were manufactured in the Maropian Coast. The Taiwanese Government took immediate action and read the Riot Act to the Bonstockian ambassador.

The saga does not bear well for Taiwan-Bonstock relations. The planned visit to Bonstock by General Zhang has been cancelled, and efforts to reopen immigration between the two nations (closed since the war) have been dealt a severe setback.

President Zhang has asked the wargames be held in a different, less sensitive location lest Bonstockian interests be percieved to be under threat from the wargames.

A message is sent on an emergency wire:

"General Zhang, we ask you why this is happening. The FRB did not plant any 'bugs' in your territory. We ask that you allow Bonstocknian embassies to reopen, and stop this madness.

"Shame on Bonstock. If Bonstock have not had any spies, or what ever that is, why would it closed down all the embassies, house arrests the diplomats, and not but not least, isolating Bonstock from Taiwan? Bonbstock has shit in his pants, and we all know it!" yelled an anti-Bonstock league member as they paraded down the Xiannese Avenues yelling and chating slogans againstBonstock.

The Hudecian government condemns the Bonstockian heavy handed response the the Taiwanese actions. The Hudecian government demands to know why the Taiwanese have been placed under house arrest. Does not the Bonstockian government respect the rule of law and due process?

Holding hostages is more fitting of a terrorist organization than a national government.

Although the Hudecian government will not take further action at this time, Parliament will reconvene tomorrow to discuss the issue.

"The Taiwanese Government did not violate any international laws and acted appropriately in ordering the closure of Bonstockian embassies for the sake of national security.

We ask that Bonstock apologise for violating Taiwanese soverignty by the planting of listening devices in Taiwanese diplomatic channels. We also request that Bonstock appropriately reconcile the Taiwanese diplomats held under house arrest.

Only then may we look at re-establishing relations between our two nations."

For one, there is no proof that Bonstock did or did not plant any of the devices in question. Both sides are simple hearsay on this issue of spy devices. However, if __Taiwan can produce evidence of such Devices and a neutral party can confirm that said devices were in fact manufactured in the Maropian Coast then there will be proof showing that such devices were planted and that Bonstock is at fault. Then __Taiwan's actions shall be justified, while Bonstock's actions will be irrational. As it stands now, neither side is correct in their actions. However, Bonstock's immediate jump to Nuclear Annihilation shows a great deficiency in Bonstock's diplomatic abilities...

Chuang-Han will act as a third party, if __Taiwan can produce said devices.

OOC:Earlier in a RP, Bonstock did plant devices in the building while Zhang and Liu met. It is just a matter of time when the Government of taiwan will find out.

What Bonstock did is a diplomatic stud as this is a fault concerning Bonstock. He does not have the rights to hold any Taiwanese as prisoners of their own quarters. Bonstock, now already threatening with nukes is already thought less of a player and an intellegent RPer.

ooc: according to public press releases, I do have short/intermediate range ballistic missiles in Maropian Coast. However, they are launchers without missiles, made to look pretty for Sinoese and _Taiwanese spy sattelites, and perhaps force Sino/_Taiwan to the negotiating table. Diplomacy is always applied with a bit of force, and though this amount of force is absolute overkill, it will make Sino think twice before attacking me.

Yes, I did plant electronic listening devices. My espionage services, the BSS, always do that. In the RL world, bugs and what not happen all the time. The Americans do it to the Russians, and vise versa, probably every day. And they don't go closing embassies because of it, do they?

Of course, do you expect me to go in IC and say "I planted bugs to spy on an ally?" Do you think Vladimir Putin would go make a speech and say "I planted bugs in the White House so I could spy on the United States?"

Really, I'm not even sure how, in IC, _Taiwan can even find that these bugs are Bonstocknian. No one would be so stupid as to label them. And really, planting bugs is more of an IC excuse for reading a thread. Because of them, I know in IC what I would know in OOC anyway. It doesn't make much difference.

So, this entire situation is pretty much about nothing. Yes, I am being heavy handed, but I want to make a point. I'm not gonna be pushed around, and Sino better think twice before launching more of his threats.

IC:

The Federal Republic will release all _Taiwanese diplomats from house arrest, unfreeze _Taiwanese assets in Bonstock, and reopen Maropian Coast borders with _Taiwan, if _Taiwan agrees to reopen Bonstocknian embassies in its country and allow diplomats to return.

In addition, the Federal Republic will withdraw all strategic bombers and intermediate range ballistic missiles if Sino and other nations agree not to deploy troops to _Taiwan, and if Sinoese ships promise not to venture into Bonstocknian waters.

If Sino agrees to sign a non-agression pact with the Federal Republic, and agrees to recognize Bonstocknian possessions in the Far East, then Bonstock will reopen diplomatic relations with Sino, and allow Sinoese investment in the Bonstocknian economy.

We hope that this agreement will lead to peace.

The Celtayoshi government encourages everyone not to overreact to this unfortunate situation. We are willing to play neutral party if the nedd arises.
