The head of Dat' Pizdy Naval Works has confirmed the sale of a single Red Tide-class (Project 1.21) SSBN to the nation of Ottoman Khaif. The Ottoman Khaif Navy's commander, Fleet Admiral Hassan Pasha III, finalized the deal with a member of the ARSB Government. The submarine cost 1.8 Billion USD.

As of now, the vessel's hull is being laid at the Rostov Shipyards and construction is beginning. The hull will be completed in 7 months with the interior taking another 7 months. The ship will be completed in 12-13 months (1 RL week).

After completion, the SSBN, now designated as the OKSS War Hawk, will set sail for Ottoman Khaif, eventually docking at Izmir Naval Shipyard, drydock B 18. Along the way, it will be escorted by Soviet Bloc naval vessels.

This was, by Drapoel standards, going out on an extremely thin limb. Almost nobody was to be told, but comrade Admiral Kim-Kuro was departing the Choson People's Republic of Dra-pol (AKA North Korea) for the Soviet Bloc. Inspired by reports of nuclear submarine exports and by radiacal Kurosite readjustment of the People's Navy's previously pathetic budget, he hoped to acquire for the Republic a nuclear submarine with which to make the attackers fight the Revolution on their own shores, rather than Dra-pol's.

There was no certainty of him succeeding. The Soviets would only be told that he was coming as his L2D4 (an ancient Japanese-built version of the DC3) neared their airspace, and he didn't have much to offer. The isolated, famine-struck republic had long since abandoned capital, and its policy of self-reliance meant that most of its resources were already accounted for at home. Billions of dollars in currency Dra-pol simply did not have to spare.

Still, the Admiral in charge of the East Sea Fleet was going to try.

A lieutenant spoke up from his communications station at Rostov Air Force Base, turning towards the highest ranking officer in the room, a colonel... "Sir... One of our far eastern radar stations is picking up an inbound contact... Moving slow. Seems to be a prop aircraft. Tashkent Air Force Base is dispatching a pair of F-57Cs to investigate..."

The lieutenant paused as he scrutinized his screen... "It appears we're also getting a message on one of our designated diplomatic frequencies..." He read the screen some more... "Tashkent is sending the contents of the message... ... ... Arrived... Alright. The aircraft is from Dra-Pol. Apparantly a navy official seeking to purchase a nuclear sub for the Dra-pol government..."

The colonel cracked his neck... "Transfer it to the office of the Navy and tell those Molniyas to escort the aircraft in, have them refuel at Tashkent and hopscotch over to here."

"Yes sir..." At that, the lieutenant got to work, transferring the data to the appropriate offices.

After the Office of the Navy received the information, it quickly dispatched a response...

"Representative of Dra-pol, we understand you wish to purchase one of our Red Tide-class SSBNs. We await your landing to commence talks on purchasing one of the vessels. If you are cash-strapped we can easily set up some sort of payment plan or possible trade. Once again, we await your arrival.

Welcome to the Armed Republic of Soviet Bloc..."

The last sentence of the return transmission would be heard by the Dra-pol pilots just as the two F-57C Molniya air superiority fighters dropped down, wing-level to the Dra-pol aircraft, and as they passed over the rugged Kazakhstanian landscape, the far eastern edge of the ARSB.

Admiral Kim-Kuro's aircraft made its way into the Soviet bloc quite calmly, and the commander of a 5,209 hull East Sea Fleet set foot on that nation's soil as the first Drapoel ever to do so. He was, as most Drapoel, an extremely dark-skinned man, for a Korean, and small. Barely 5'4" tall and weighing less than 140lbs, he wore a traditional short-sword on one hip, and an 8mm Nagant automatic on the other.

He would be keen to offer other means of reimbursement, and offered several suggestions. The Chinese, he would note, were providing steel and close-in-weapons-systems in return for Dra-pol's orbiting of small Chinese satellites, something which could be achieved by the CPRD at barely 1/4million USD per launch rather than tens of millions as required by conventional measures, thanks to Director Hotan's Black Dragon project. Other nations had taken an interest in Dra-pol's grand experience of tunnel warfare, and had employed Drapoel experts in the craft to teach them how to dig military grade tunnels at dozens of metres per day, providing them with ventilation, protection, and even small railway lines hundreds of metres below the earth's surface. The CPRD had famously used such tunnels to crush the Republic Of Korea Army in less than 24 hours. The Drapoel were open to radical negotiation.

OOC- Soviets Union, yes I do... And I'll post it shortly.

========================================

The ARSB Secretary of the Navy greeted the Admiral with a strong hand-shake... "Welcome to the Soviet Bloc, comrade Admiral Kim-Kuro... If you would, just follow me..." The Secretary of the Navy, Sergei Federovich nodded to his side, towards a large building, specially designed for meeting with foreign dignitaries... Sergei was flanked by the President of Dat' Pizdy Corporation and a Petty Officer with his RSR-51 assault rifle loosely slung over his shoulder...

As they walked into the massive concrete and steel structure, they walked down the massive halls... The petty officer took lead towards a door and halted, opening the heavy oak door for the men to enter... Inside was one of the facilities many diplomatic rooms... A long wood table with leather high-back chairs surrounding it stood in the middle. Off to the side was a counter with condiments, drinks, coffee, and other food stuffs. At the far end was a massive plasma television screen, currently showing the seal of the Ministry of Foreign Relations. As the secretary of the navy walked in he nodded to the Dra-pol admiral... "Have a seat, sir." He then motioned to any of the leather chairs.

After the admiral was seated, Sergei moved up to his position at the head of the table and typed something into a computer... The plasma screen flashed and displayed the Secretary of the Navy's Seal before it slided off-screen and revealed the schematical drawings of the Red Tide-class SSBN... At the bottom of the screen were assorted actual shots of the Red Tide in action, even one showing the launch of a ballistic missile.

After this, Federovich spoke up..."So, Admiral... You are interested in the Red Tide-class SSBN? The Red Tide-class maintains four torpedo tubes and twenty ballistic missile tubes... Plenty of armament for most operations... No? Anyways... The vessel costs 1.8 Billion USD. And, as I understand, your nation is rather cash-strapped... We are open to negotiations on payment, whether it be lowered price, payment plan, or some sort of trade-off... Whatever you want to pay for it, we'll accept..."

In related developments, Dat' Pizdy Naval Works has confirmed another sale to Ottoman Khaif... This time, two Kasatanov-class SSBN/SSGN refits were sold to OK for a total price of $4 Billion USD. They will be constructed and shipped over the next 4 NS years.

Fleet Admiral Hassan Pasha III read the lastest reports on the War Hawk construction and said"Soon the War Hawk will be the pride of Ottoman Submarine fleet."

Admiral Kim-Kuro slowly nodded as he regarded the images. The Admiral had never left Dra-pol before today, and as such had seen a few minutes of black and white film in his life, and nothing more. He tried not to seem daunted by the wealth and technology on display.

"Yes." He said. "The Choson People's Republic is most interested in this technology.

"Sadly, the largest submarines yet sailed by our fleets are 1,100 tonne Beth Gellert-built Hound Class diesel/electric coastal patrol vessels, armed with 485mm torpedoes. Our pens are small and likely unable to accomodate such a boat as this... we would require guidance in preparing a proper birth for any such purchase.

"As for payment... the Republic can orbit small satellites free of charge until the debt is paid... it can... offer technical advice on tunnel warfare..." Kim-Kuro's speech was slowed by his struggles with the language- almost nobody outside the Republic spoke Drapoel Korean. He couldn't quite find a way to offer South Koreans as payment without the possiblity of enraging somebody. He said that payment in currency could be arranged, though it may take time.

Sergei nodded... "Well, we can assist in the construction of submarine pens, submarine dry docks, and submarine maintenance facilities for vessels of this size or larger... We will construct them free of charge. However, we ask one thing in return, if any ARSB navy vessels require maintenance or immediate stop, they can stop there and receive maintenance and so forth. Also, in war time, if the area is of strategic importance, we ask if we can station ships there? Their crews can be confined to the base if required."

He stopped for a few seconds, taking a drink of water from a glass the petty officer had set in front of him... "Well, we're currently in the opening processes of acquiring newer SSBNs... The Dat' Pizdy designed Kasatanov-class SSBN/SSGN. Which costs twice as much as this and has 30 ballistic missile tubes. The sub is also much, much larger. Anyways, while we acquire those, we are decommissioning some of our older Red Tide-class SSBNs, so, we will sell them to you for reduced prices... As for your offered deals, they are accepted. The ability to dig effective tunnels for tactical use would be invaluable in some situations and the satellite launches would save us millions of dollars. We have seven smaller communications and global tracking satellites that we wish to have put in orbit."

He paused a bit to let his words sink in...

"And, we've made enough money on recent sales as well as trade surplus, that we will also train some of your sailors to man this vessel, as well as train mechanics to service it. An SSBN is a complex piece of machinery with a nuclear reactor, anything goes wrong it and you're done for."

OOC- I found the most retarded typo in my last post... I wrote 'slided' instead of slid...

Kim-Kuro eventually nodded, and said that yes, he was quite sure that his East Sea bases at least could be opened to Soviet Bloc forces, if urgently required.

The Admiral stated that tunnel warfare experts could probably be in the Soviet Bloc within the month, along with engineers able to advise on the sort of drilling equipment that Dra-pol has built and found most effective. The People's Army had put almost a million commandos into South Korea in barely an hour, through the use of several tunnels that took years to create. The martal discipline's potential was significant, even on a smaller scale such as the Republic had taught the Viet Cong in their fight against the Americans.

As to the orbiting of satellites, Dra-pol was using The Dragon's Throat, a massive cannon at Paektusan, to launch simple rocket-assisted payloads up to 200kg into earth orbit. Each launch was costing less than US$300,000 equivalent, compared to millions with conventional rocket operations.

The Admiral was delighted to hear of the nation's willingness to assist in building facilities to handle the submarines as well as to train crews. While he'd originally come looking for a single SSBN, the prospect of acquiring further hulls at reduced cost was clearly appealing.

OOC:WOW! I have a sub named after my nation... I am flattered.

Sergei nodded, a smile forming from his lips... "Good, good... Alright, we can have engineers and construction equipment in your nation within a week. Currently, we have the 5th Marine Division stationed in the Pacific, stationed aboard the 1st Battle Fleet. They have quite a few engineer battalions that could assist in constructing these pens and maintenance facilities. We can easily send a few ships with just the engineers and construction equipment on them to assist your own personnel in building the structures. Additional supplies and personnel can be sent by aircraft."

He paused a second before continuing, "We have four satellites that meet the criteria for being launched by your 'Dragon's Throat' cannon. We can ship the four satellites within the coming weeks to be launched. As for the tunnel 'experts', we will assemble a large group of combat engineers to be trained by them. They will then teach other combat engineers the lessons they learned. Your soldiers can probably land at Tashkent Regional Air Force Base and a convoy of vehicles can carry them to the nearby Tashkent Regional Army Base."

He sat for a minute, trying to think of anything else to say... "So, is that all then? You just want one of these vessels? Because we can work some deals out for multiple vessels whether you want them now or in the future?"
