Hi, Everybody! I am looking to start a Roleplaying thread around the secession of Ynghdlbrsndheim. Ynghdlbrsndheim was originally a large Scandinavian colony of some other nation. It now considers itself an autonomous nation, but the mother country does not, and intends to make sure that the rest of the world doesn’t either.

At this point, I’m looking for a nation interested in being that mother country. Ynghdlbrsndheim is situated in a relatively advanced nation in a modern setting, so the nation I’m looking for would be one appropriate to that: i.e., not a massive interplanetary empire or a medieval kingdom overrun by magic. It should also be large enough and developed enough to support a big ‘ol colony. Additionally, I’m hoping that this RP will at least start as a diplomatic engagement rather than a bloodbath, so ideally the nation should not be one that will be eager to kill off the population of Ynghdlbrsndheim. Apart from that, though, I’m not picky. Ideological differences are fine, and give us a reason to separate in the first place.

So... if you’re interested in being that nation, post a little something here. Tell me some of the important things about your country that I couldn’t find out from your nation’s fact sheet: anything about your history I should know, tidbits about your culture, what have you. And in a few days, I’ll pick announce the one best suited to it. (I hate to make this into a contest, especially considering the “prize” at stake, but I can’t really think of a better way.) And then the roleplaying proper will start in a new thread. Other nations are welcome to take sides or otherwise participate!

Oh, about Yngdhlbrsndheim:

The people are very proud of their land, and for the greater part, relatively simple. There are a few decent-sized cities in various places the country, but outside of those, it is primarily a rural nation.

With lots of Fjords. Fjords are awesome.
