SBS Newsflash-
The Congress of Deputies has voted (153-89) to outlaw same sex marraige. Premier Mannerheim has applauded this, calling it a "great leap forward" in the preservation of society. Also, the Congress has voted to create civil unions for same sex couples. Gay activists have resolved to challenge the law- but they are widely expected to lose, due to support for the law from most Sevarisians.

We respect the fact that you are your own sovereign nation, and you have the ability to make any law that you feel is right, but as we look upon your decision, we feel that putting discrimination into your 'code of law' is the wrong thing to do. Nations should embrace the fact that everyone is different, instead of banning it, before it could even be understood.
Our nation embraces everyone of different ethnicities, sex, religion, race, and sexual preference, and welcomes them here with open arms. There is no need to deny anyone their rights as a human being. To love another human being, whether it be of the same sex or not, is sacred and shouldn't be looked down upon.
Again, we respect the fact that this is what you think is right, and we, of course, won't interfere with that, but we feel differently about this subject and we hope that you are enlightened upon it too.
Best wishes,
Destra, the Prime Minister of Euroslavia.

We have the utmost respect for the sovreignty of countries and note this decision by Sevaris with disappointment.
We wish to note that Sarzonia does not recognize marriage in the civil sense of the word. Civil unions are the legally recognized union with benefits and responsibilities applied by Sarzonian law. Religious weddings are allowed, but they carry no legal status.

The United States of Canada disagrees with the unions of Same-Sex couples and homosexuality. We look at Same Sex Unions and Marriages to be the same thing.
