Sarzonia

The newest ship in the Portland Iron Works inventory is the Evermore-class general purpose destroyer. Fitted with AA weaponry, a state-of-the-art ASW suite, and ship-to-surface weapons, this ship is the most heavily armed of its class in the Sarzonian navy. Owing to Sarzonian expectations, this ship is also among the best protected mono-hulled destroyers in the fleet.
SPECIFICATIONS
Dimensions: 172m length; 22m beam; 7.8m draught
Displacement: 9800 tons full load
Powered by 2 nuclear reactors
Range limited only by nuclear fuel
Speed: 31 knots
Advanced steel alloy armament; 4.15 inches all around. Includes double-bottoms and void spaces.
Armaments: Surface-launched cruise missiles (Tomahawk equivalent) 64 carried; 12 Harpoon-equivalent surface-to-surface missiles carried; 4 VLA ASW launchers; 6 torpedo bays, readily adaptable to nearly any class of torpedo; includes several decoys for countermeasure protection. Comes equipped with 40 Sarztorp advanced lightweight torpedoes (based on the MU90 Eurotorp designed by Italian and French companies for ASW uses). Two CIWS systems installed, port and starboard. 12 20 mm AA guns in twin turrets; four port and four starboard; two bow and two stern). Also equipped with six anti-missile systems (Patriot equivalent), two port and two starboard, and one bow and one stern.
Price: $1.55 billion.
[OOC: This is my first attempt at designing a destroyer per se. I almost called my Ithaca-class light cruisers "heavy destroyers" but chose to re-classify them for sales reference. In case anyone is wondering, I based my stats loosely on the later versions of the Arleigh Burke-class with an eye toward making the ship well armed for a destoryer (and well protected). The ship sacrifices slightly in speed to make up for the armament and armor.
Constructive feedback is welcomed. If you'd like to place an order, please post on the Portland Iron Works (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=345001) thread.]
