CKMS-47 SMG in Development

Chellian scientists have recently been working on new types of magazines for their handguns. Not too long ago, a breakthrough was made, and with it, the partitioned Magazine was created.

The Partitioned Magazine isn't a marvel of technology in itself. The magazine is partitioned into four sections. Each section holds 30 rounds of 9x19mm ammunition. This is the equivilent of four 9x19mm ammunition sticks stuck together.

Putting the four makes reloading very fast however. After some amount of training, it takes a soldier about a second to take the clip out, move it a centimeter or two to the side, and put it back in. When a soldier has used two blocks, he simply spins the magazine 180 degrees, and puts in the third, then fourth. Its the equivilent of a 120 round magazine.

This design was created to make reloading as fast and simple as possible. Therefore, with the more ingenious part of the magazine, the last round of a bloc will not fire, while the magazine is still in the gun. One has to take it out, and switch to a new bloc to fire it off. The reason this is effective is because you do not have to cock the gun before using it, which takes valuable time away from a soldier. The round can be fired if there is no magazine, so if a soldier is surprised while reloading, he can still fire off a shot as well.

The gun it is being based off of it the AKMS-47, chambered for 9mm and a bigger magazine acceptance, so that the magazine can be moved to each bloc. The gun has an effective range of 300m, and a rate of fire of 600 rounds per minute. Weight is the same as an AKM-47, and the cost is expected to be the same as well, or barely more. This is a perfect gun for guards or paratroopers, who may not have the luxury of time to reload as much as a normal soldier, taking a magazine out of a pouch, putting back the old one, and cocking the gun.

The CKMS-47 will be used by chellian Volksjaeger units, and will enter large production soon. The Magazine is 115x31x280mm(LxWxH), and is a full rectangle. Price is slated at $300 Chellian euros.

It can take 9mm stick magazines that are made to stick into ak-47's...But not 7.62x39mm, etc, as that would require rechambering, etc...

Praetonia, it weight about as much as an AK-47...The clip is a bit heavier, but the stock is lighter.

what sort of cost are we going to be looking at?

300 Chellian euros. As USD is becoming inflated by certain people, its hard to give it a USD price. However, for an uninflated USD(We judge USD by the country), it would be about $600 USD. Its higher than some AK's, but ours are new manufacture with quality metal, wood, etc. Its not just "Make as many as you can for money" AK's.

Each clip is about 30 dollars(for 120 rounds...Not that bad of a price).

and what sort of time are we going to be looking at before these are avaliable, also, is there a bulk discount?

since we're trading at about 2 GDPs to the USD (uninflated) we will be looking at buying 10000 of these, and 10 magazines for each for a total price of $9,000,000 (USD)

We can fulfill an order of that size near-immediatly. Expect it in about the time it will take to transport it via air, plus about a day.
