The process was quite simple. The biomass was loaded into chambers where it was heated under great pressure. The resulting material was then sorted into seperate tanks. We managed to get a prospective 500% return on energy. For every 15 units of energy we use, we get 85 back. This could place us years ahead of other nations. We are very exited, sir. Imagine... a limitless supply of energy.

The day of the presentation was in order. Much had been placed under strict secrecy, but today the Empire would be given the gift of nearly infinite oil. Twelve men entered the room. Some were dressed in suits, others in lab coats. Dr Canat was among those in their lab coats, he was the project leader and walked to the front of the room, toward the machine.
Dr. Canat walked up to the finished machine. This machine took 3 years to make and it costs only 1.2 billion to manufacture, a modest sum for such an important source of cheap and efficient oil. It was built like a giant engine; plastic and metal panels hide many of the components. This was meant to be a very contained system, free of outside involvement and interference. Canat sat down at the control desk and started the laptop computer, which was obviously the control center for the machine. The machine immediately began to make noise, but it was quieter than thought possible. The engineers had made it almost noise proof, it needed to be installed in civilian areas so it needed to be very quiet. Dr. Canat then stood and faced the group of men who had already sat down to hear the presentation.
"Gentlemen, mankind has been burdened with the problem of oil shortages for many years. Over dependency and consumption has driven the price of oil to record highs, and civilians have to pay these high prices out of money that could be placed else where in the economy. The Empire, three years ago, funded a small project to build a machine capable of turning biomass into oil. The machine would use the process of thermal depolymerization, which mimics the earth’s natural process of making oil. We use trash, waste and just about any biomass and turn it into a fuel source for our vehicles, power plants or just about anything that uses oil. Gentlemen, we may never need oil drillers again” said Dr. Canat
“Dr. Canat, how efficient is this new fuel?” said on of the business executives from the Venom Corporation.
“Our best test reveal an unheard of efficiency for this fuel. For every 15 units of energy used to produce the fuel, the fuel will provide 85 units in return. A return rate of over 500 percent” said Canat.
“My God, so efficient. When can we get this machine into production?” said another person from the Venom Corporation.
“It already is. 8 AM this morning, Venom Corporation started producing over 30 of these machines. We can increase that number two fold in a week. In three months we will have built a factory exclusively for this machine.” The voice came from a video screen on the wall of the room. The screen turned on and, to everyone’s amazement, displayed the Emperor of ITD and CEO of Venom Corporation.
“Your Majesty!” said many of the men, all bowing before the display.
“Get up! As I was saying, ITD has authorized the Venom Corporation to build over 30 of these machines to be installed in every ITD mainland city-state. We are also building a factory devoted to producing these machines. This will be a new future for this empire, nearly infinite energy, glorious!” said the Emperor.
