Austar Union

It was the afternoon when President Grove was sceduled to make an international appearance to the world media. He had fully prepared his speech, and was confident in his abilities to put forward an idea strongly. This would be the backbone of Austarian Policy, both domestic and international.
Similar policies had been adopted in the past, such as those of an active role in fighting terrorism. It had brought the Austar Union much, and it had made the globe a better place. Now, terrorism was far less rampant in the world, and Edward was sure that he could put that down to the efforts of the global coalition. But now that terrorism had diminished as just a minor factor, a new enemy of the people had been established.
Walking out onto the stage, he was welcomed with clapping. He would most likely be the most popular President so far, though it would be difficult to surpass the late Richard Hoffman. Hoffman was the greatest President in Austarian history, and many people agreed. It was Mr. Grove's goal, to benifet the Austar Union, and the world, hopefully at least a portion as Hoffman did.
Clearing his throat, he began his speech, which would set the Austar Union onto a new course in international politics, and hopefully influence others to do the same in their own policies;
"Citizens, and Leaders of the World,
There are many enemies of the world. Many of these have been warmongering nations, such as world war Germany, Austria, Japan etc. Many of these modern day enemies are considered to be terrorists, such as Al-Quida, Al-Jazzera, Jama-Islamia. These groups are responsible for the deaths of thousands, perhaps even the tens of thousands. And yet we ignore others, because they are not so primary in the world.
What about the death's caused because of humanitarian reasons, such as hunger, povety. What about those killed every day due to an oppressive and violent government. What about those people who are a slave to addiction in the world of alcohol, drugs, gambling. Are these people not also suffering?
And yet these people are virtually ignored by global politics. They are all linked together, under one banner, under one oppressor. That link, is the lack of freedom.
This is why, I am committing to my nation to a global fight, in the name of freedom. I am committing my nation to free people from povety, starvation, sickness, oppression, fear itself, addiction... the list go's on. If we cannot help the world, then we have not achieved what a nation should. This will be a large fight, but we so committed, so dedicated to freeing the people of the world, that we will achieve, no matter the concequences.
In the name of Freedom, we will fight..."
President Grove, confident that the world media understood, stepped back from the podium, and walked out the back. He had just made a move which would set the nation onto its eternal destiney. Of course, he did not expect to enforce freedom across the globe, and be entirely successful, but if he could manage to free just one man from something, then he would consider himself successful.
OOC: Basically, I just wanna clear up the idea that the reference of 'Freedom from Oppression', did not mean that I was going to run around invading Dictatorships. Most dictatorships dont oppress their people, so I think you get the idea. Of course, if people are being murdered and oppressed, then I can only adopt my policy here. And please, keep OOC chatter to a minimal. You International Incidenters have a strange habit of filling threads full of OOC rubbish. :S
