Official Presidential Statement

After a reveiw of our military installations, I, as president of Grenval, have decided that one offshore base is not enough. Grenval requires a base in the pacific to protect itself and its allies. After through research, we have decided upon the island of Nua Frest, to be renamed Nua Diego, after the General Diego. A military base shall be built on the island, and although specifics are not yet available, we expect this base to hold three divisions and roughly four hundred aircraft. I will release more information in the coming days, as orders for troops are sent out. The island is uninhabited and we do not expect much distaste from the international community. Thank you and good day.

President George
Ruler of Grenval

***Note: Island does not actually exist.

OOC: I think, from an OOC perspective, the NS world needs more Imperialism - it makes the game interesting.

OOC: And then get in huge fight with all the nations who actually value ethics and morality....

[OOC - Tell me if there is anything unrealistic.]

President George sat reading over the fact sheet.

Just two questions. What is the islands highest elevations and is their any indeginous population.

Well, if you read the thread, there is no indeginous population, and the highest point is thrity-seven feet above sea level.

Okay thanks. 37 feet is pretty good. I don't see how wave action can flood an island that has a highest elevation above 12 feet.

Well not entirely flooded, but prone to flooding from waves and the fact that it is a rain forest.

Consul Tandon of the Hadulan people, who live on a rather large archipegalo that isn't very inhabited, send this message to the Grenval people:

Comrade and friend,

The Hadulan people have caught wind of your request, and after debate and discussion in our latest Assembly, they wish for you to place your military base on one of our southern, uninhabited island. The whole island would be Grenval territory, and there is only one condition that we ask.

If ever the nation of Hadula is threatened by force, we as the Grenval nation's military forces to protect our small nation. If you can accept this agreement, I wil lgive you a few more of the smaller islands as well. You can recruit soldiers from our population, but only if willing. Your soldiers stationed in Hadula will be also treated as Hadulan citizens, they may participate in our Assemblies and have all the rights as Hadulan citizens while stationed here.

With sincerest regards,
Consul Ruben Tandon

That is a very interesting offer. We would first need to know the statistics of the island, along with a history of alliances and enemies your nation has made. If these two requests meet our requirments, I would be willing to consider this offer. Thank you.

Grenval I wouldn't exactly call this an imperialistic conquest. You've taken over a small island with no indegenous population to use as a naval base. That is hardly imperialistic. Take this from a guy that has 3 major colonies (not a whole lot but I think a good amount), a few puppets and a number of RL claims.

[OOC - You are more or less right, but as Grenval has always taken a firm stance against colonialistic expansion (*cough*Communist Mississippi*cough*)this is a break from the norm. Oh and I did see that you agree with me about Cam III. Haha and thanks.]

Comrade Lought,

We are pleased you have accepted this offer. I have alerted the UTA and they will be relocating the badger population within the next two weeks. We hope that our two nations will prosper together.

With sincerest regards,
Consul Estaban Riverra

Right after the letter had been wired to Grenval, Riverra contacted the UTA General Jim Thompson, who is in proccess of deploying 20,000 UTA reservists to relocate the badger population to be dispersed in the forests of other islands, and help the Grenval military deforest the area they wish to develop.

Consul Estaban Riverra,

Thank you for your assisstance. We shall be moving in in two weeks, after the badger population is removed. If you require any help, we can certainly send in help.

Derrick Earl Lought
Minister of Foreign Affairs

As he finished the message, Lought summoned his advisor.
"Get me a team of ten to fifteen scientists to explore the island. Have them learn as much as they can, but they must preserve the island in its original condition."
"Yes sir," replied the advisor, and he left the room.
