I'm not sure if these numbers would be excessive for my military. They are based for defense, not for "attack" or invade other nation type of warfare. At least not for a long time, until I can get bigger.

Your army is okay, but I think you have a few too many tanks. But I tell you want, I'm giving you 100 billion dollars for you to buy equipment with, etc, maintain it.

Good as in it's well proportioned and realistic, bad as in it would get smooshed in an extended conflict (but that's only because you're still new).

It looks respectable for a nation one month old ^_^ Just don't get involved in any big conflicts with other nations in RP

2% = 320,000.
3% = 480,000.


However, I chose compulsory Military Service.

So all of my 16 million people has served in my military at one point or another in their lifetimes (old people already served, kids will serve when they become 18, women are soldiers as well, etc.) for the required 1 or 2 years.

So I think I could have up to 10% of my population as actual reserves. Which would come up to 1.6 million.

But active duty, I'm not sure. Maybe in the 2% - 5% range because of Compulsory Military Service. I'd say around 350,000 to 500,000 tops.


Are my estimates and numbers too high, too low, or just right?

It would probably be on the high-side for a peace time army but like you say, compulsary military service probably drives it up. I would say that's fine and combined with all that equipment it's fairly well-balanced for a nation your size (maybe a few less tanks, but other than that), but then I'm no expert.

Heh, it's better than my military anyway. 0.01% of the population... sheesh. I have fewer people in the military than you do, and I have almost 300 million more people than you do... I'm going to have to set up a reserve or something to compensate :confused:

I think your navy is oversized, but that is no problem after few days. Also I would say you have quite alot of tanks (I myself have about 5 and half thousand) and AA systems. I'd say next thing you should buy are more armoured personnel carriers and fleet of about 50 transport helicopters.

Your lack of carriers in your navy is very apparent. You will need at least 6 more than the one you currently have. And why would your air force, which is comprised of entirely Land Based aircraft, need an aircraft carrier? What you need is to develop some Naval Aviation. Some F/A-18 Hornets, some A-6 Intruders, F-14s, and E-2C Hawkeyes etc. Also your lack of interceptors is apparent too. All you have are SU-37s. I would say supplement those with some F-15C Eagles and (if you want) F-22 Raptors. I would also say that your navy needs a serious overhaul. You have 6 Kirov Cruisers but only 5 Arleigh Brukes?!? Thats crazy. Usually this is how one of my fleets fleet looks:

Sharina doesn't need aircraft carriers because it is country of just 16 million. Even one Nimitz's annual operating cost would be big drain of money.

Right now, Sharina's population is 21 million.

18 million native Sharina people (As NS profile of my nation says)

3 million Hataria Mammalia refugees / now Sharina citizens.



I thought any of my aircraft can be based on the Yorktown Carrier I have?

Bear with me, I'm not too proficient with exact military formations. I play a lot of Civilization 3 and Civilization based games. :p
