The Wazzu Sales Thread (OOC)

OOC: Yup, that’s right, I’ve finally created a sales thread (I’ve had a mind to do it for well over a year now). However, this isn’t your typical “I’ll by 20 gagillion dreadnaughts for 50 bucks!” thread.

What follows is a list (with some pictures) of CIVILIAN products from Wazzu corporations. There are no weapons, only minimal stats are provided, and prices are not included. Why? Because all the RP for sales played out loooooooong ago.

Instead, any RPer here should feel welcome to use the products (and the pictures, which I myself stole) in this thread freely under the assumption that this corporation, that individual, or any one particular nation has bought it. Basically, these are RP tools exported by Wazzu and available on the open market for anyone.

So what’s the real cost? Don’t godmod it. Don’t assume you have 5 million superfreighters or whatever. Again, the idea is character-oriented RP tools anyone can use.

If you wish to use them, please just post that such-and-such individual/corporation/group/nation bought X-many of them. Wazzu corporations aren’t picky who they sell these very civilian products to.

Not much time tonight, so I’ll start out with some of aerospace giant TransCorp’s vehicles.

******
All TransCorp products come with:
-Superior design and materials construction, leading to minimal maintenance and long life (centuries if properly cared for).
-Efficient power supply, whether fusion or simple fission battery.
-Efficient drive system (fusion and metallic-oxide chemical-electric drives available)
-Dual to quadruple redundancy for critical systems.
-The highest quality to be found in the solar system.

PLAY NOTE: Except for materials (some of the best available on the market, military vessels included) TransCorp civilian items tend to stay low-tech and simple. There are no force-fields (other then magnetic fields for protection from solar radiation), FTL drives or communications, artificial gravity devices, teleportation/”scottybeammeup” chambers, or similar. On the other hand, the ships are easily modifiable and the purchaser can add such items from other nations/manufacturers at their own expense and risk.

Hopper 1 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Hopper1.jpg) A simple transport made for quick transportation on no/low-atmosphere, low-gravity planetoids. The Hopper 1 sports a fission-battery (1 year life, cheap to replace) powered metallic-oxide chemo-electric drive system (both highly efficient and fairly cheap to run). The Hopper 1 is capable of 1 gravity of acceleration (limited fuel supply), requires one operator/pilot, and seats up to 9 others.

Hopper 2 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Hopper2.jpg) A larger transport with all of the features of its smaller counterpart. The Hopper 2 is capable of 1 gravity of acceleration (limited fuel supply), has a crew of 1-2 and seats up to 48 passengers.

Nurbs (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Nurbsss.jpg) Another vehicle with the same power source and drive as the Hopper series, but for a different market. The Nurbs is an aerospace car, perfect for the middle-class of wealthy nations or for government or corporate use. On a full tank, the modestly priced Nurbs can make high Earth orbit (unassisted) from sealevel on Earth. The Nurbs is capable of up to 4 gravities with limited fuel supply, seats up to 5 (4 comfortably).

Polys (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Polyss.jpg) A simple vehicle with all the capabilities of the Hopper series of transports, but optimized for cargo/personal transport in orbital or deep space. Can make landings on higher-gravity, high-atmosphere planets (like Earth/Venus/Mars) but is not capable of reaching orbit again unassisted. The Polys is capable of up to 1 gravity with a limited fuel supply, think of it as a futuristic space shuttle. 2-5 crew, fold-up/down seats in cargo-bay.

Phoenix (http://members.cox.net/davage/images/ShipExitAtmosphereSmall.jpg) Originally designed as a flight trainer (it is able to mimic the handling characteristics of pretty much any aerospace vehicle, from fighters to freighters), the Phoenix Aerospace Vehicle also comes in a sports vehicle variant (civilian…fast). The Phoenix uses 2 engine/powerplant combined fusion reactors, is capable of up to 15 gravities (g-suits required), and seats 1-4 (depending on cockpit variant chosen).

Pascal (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Pascal.jpg) Originally designed to transport people in (what was then) a hot, corrosive, high-pressure, hellish Venus atmosphere, the Pascal is extremely resistant to adverse weather conditions. Variants now exist for transport, gas-giant mining, search/rescue, and exploration missions. The Pascal’s triple fusion engine system is capable of sustaining up to 10 gravities for extended periods of time and operation in a wide range of adverse environments. It takes 1-2 crew and variants can seat up to 50.

Freebooter 1 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Freebooter1.jpg) Designed with the independent (asteroid/Kuiper/belt) miner in mind, the Freebooter 1 is highly modular. It can use either drive type, be outfitted with simple to very complex life support, and a large number of other options. There are no standard stats for this craft.

Freebooter 2 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Freebooter2.jpg) Like the Freebooter 1, this vessel is designed with the independent in mind, this time the independent trader. The Freebooter 2 can efficiently carry just about any type of cargo and is small enough to visit outposts too small themselves to require larger freighters.

Alpha 1 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Alpha1.jpg) A small no-frills freighter (much larger then a shuttle) capable of atmospheric re-entry and single-stage-to-orbit operations. Fusion drive system provides up to 6 gravities of acceleration for an extended period of time. Unique thrust-spread system prevents the usual damage of nuclear drives on aerospaceport fields.

Alpha 2 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Alpha2.jpg) An efficient mid sized freighter using a simple (4 reactor) fusion drive system, great for interplanetary trade but not atmosphere capable. Up to 1 gravity of acceleration (cruising), great endurance, requires 3 crew but can support up to 7. Includes long-range message laser and multi-frequency high-power (and high-sensitivity) radio communications.

Alpha 3 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Alpha3.jpg) A passenger liner capable of interplanetary flights and providing a Mars-like gravity (.39g) without the constant high energy use of artificial gravity systems. Requires crew of at least 8, but up to 20. Passenger version supports up to 200 people. Mini-station and research ship versions are also available and hold other numbers of occupants, or can be modified to purchaser’s specifications. Capable of up to 1 gravity of acceleration with good endurance (rotating section is typically locked down while under acceleration).

Alpha 4 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Alpha4.jpg) A larger cousin to the Alpha 3, the Alpha 4 is meant to be a (small) moving space station. Great for businesses and large, extended families with interests away from civilization (and gravity!). Capable of a full Earth gravity in two separate (counter-rotating) sections without the constant high fuel/energy use of artificial gravity systems. 0.5 gravity acceleration rate, low acceleration endurance (it is a station after all).

Beta 1 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Beta1.jpg) The Beta 1 is just what it looks like, a very large fuel tanker. Great for transporting gasses (at liquid or solid pressures) and liquids over long distances at low cost. Requires only 2 crew, but can sustain up to 6 comfortably. 1 gravity cruising acceleration, good endurance (outstanding/unmatched endurance if transported gas is hydrogen and is pumped into engines as fuel).

Beta 2 (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Beta2.jpg) Like the Beta 1, the Beta 2 is just a very large ship, in this case a cargo ship. With 20 removable sections and 8 duel crane systems, the Beta 2 can haul and handle huge amounts of material without straining often overworked trade-station distribution networks. The Beta 2 requires 10 crewmembers, but can support up to 50. It is capable of 1 gravity of acceleration and has excellent endurance.

To: Wazzu Corporations Sales Director
From: Shania Jackson, Department of Trade

To whom it may concern,

The wonderful nation of Vegana wishes to start a serie of proof of Concept projects and therefore wishes to buy three of each type for a pilot project. If this would turn out well a substantial bigger serie will of course be invested in and we assume the prospect of this will be mirrored in the price.

God is Great
