Moscow, USSCR
Inside the Press Room
The crowd of mostly male reporters waited in anticipation for another juicy announcement from the Premier. Last week there was a media circus over the handing over of the Caucaus region. Tabloids reported the USSCR was being blackmailed. Loud talking hushed to whispers as the security guards filed into the room with top advisors. Whispers gave way to silence as the Premier of the USSCR stepped to the podium. Something new this press conference, the video media was allowed to attend. Cameras were all over the place, and many international stations were seen. Apparently this would be an international statement.
"People of the United Socialist States of Communist Rule, people of the International Community, and those scum who pirate off our radio waves: Dobriy Dehn," the Premier waited for the chuckling to end, "I have came to this press announcement with a request concerning the future of our great nation.
"Recently, the Caucas regions were given to the ARSB. I am now announcing that this transaction occured mainly as a security measure, preventing a Mediterranean landing of troops in the event of a war."
The room was filled with the sound of scribbling.
"However, the end result of this safety measure is the lack of oil coming into the USSCR," the Premier clasped his hands behind his back, "Currently we have a deal with the ARSB for 572,500 barrels of oil per each C-130 variant that we have been forwarding from the Dominion of Zokk.
"This is not enough. We are looking to purchase massive oil fields in another nation."
Whispers filled the room, momentarily. Pens clicked, pencils broke.
The Premier pulled out a notecard, "To those nations that are willing to allow us to purchase their oil fields, we require three things.
1. Complete and uninterrupted access to our oil wells, refineries, and storage tanks.
2. The ability to construct new facilities on said acreage of land purchased.
3. The land purchased will be considered USSCR soil, much the same way an embassy functions. We will have troops stationed, security vehicles, and private communications. Any foreign encroachment on this territory will be considered espionage unless invited by the officials at the facilities."
The reporters had fire in their pants, waiting to jump up and ask questions.
"The USSCR is willing to spend vast amounts of money to secure the nation's oil-driven future. That is all."
The Premeir walked off the small stage to the disappointment of the reporters, who had to listen to the Minister of Agriculture drone on about the current cost of oil, and what it meant to USSCR citizens.
OOC: I will ask that all offers be made in an IC fashion, please.
