Axis Nova opens up the Imperial Graveyard to colonization (open colonization RP)

(OOC note: see description of the region I've ensconed my nation in for a general idea of the environment...)

Axis Nova has decided that it wishes to finally get around to cleaning out the scum inhabiting the continent on which it resides. However, due to certain projects, the cost of such an operation would strain our budget.

Thus, we are opening up the Imperial Graveyard to colonization. Be warned that there is a 500 kilometer exclusion zone around Axis Nova that is highly radioactive due to seeding the area with dirty nukes. However, this still leaves approximately 1500-1700 square kilometers of land free for colonization.

Some notes and warnings...

-Any stragetic weapons/cruise missiles brought into the area will not be tolerated and will be destroyed without warning.

-There is a 10 kilometer neutral zone around the port city of Nuevo Dias (which also contains the sea end of the tunnel that goes to Axis Nova). This city is jointly admiinistered by Axis Nova and Sileetris, and is a neutral zone for any nations who wish to enter peacefully.

-The wastelands are rife with bandits, terrorists, anarchists, and other scum. Many have heavy weapons, either shipped in from outside, indigneously produced, or (worst of all) lifted from old Imperial facilities. Be warned that tech ranging from WWII to futuretech has been observed in their hands. As such, we recommend your colonists bring heavy weapons. (ooc note: the most nasty thing your forces will probably see is mecha...)

-The Graveyard has a very arid climate! Drink plenty of water and always carry an extra canteen to prevent dehydration.

-Beware of radscorpions.

OOC: Hmm, I might take up that offer. Is there enough room for both of us?

OOC: I havn't made a map before... perhaps you guys can suggest a good tool for it?

Cam III: well, the available space is listed...

You can make good ones in paint actually. Or you can make absolutely amazing ones in Photoshop if you're Holy Panooly.

OOC: Behold my crappy map. Obviously not perfectly to scale since my art skills suck. Hopefully I can do a better one in the future (or have someone produce one for me). If this was a more professional map, the coastline would look more jagged and such, and there would be more things of interest.

OOC: Lol dont worry Ive seen much worse. Is it to scale? Because AN looks rather small, but ok.

IC: PWS Sanguinius, Flagship 8th Destroyer Squadron

The Bridge abourd the Griffin Class Light Cruiser, the Sanguinius, was a hive of activity. They had just received orders to rendezvous with the Colonial Fleet Umbra. It contained cargo carriers and civilian cruise ships totalling some one million tonnes, carrying almost half a million tonnes of equipment. This was only the second time the Imperium had assembled such a fleet, the first precluding the construction of Neo Praetonia.

Also travelling aboard the fleet are the 17th and 21st Imperial Guard Divisions to secure the colony. Not too much resistance is expected, but still the two divisons will be more than enough to protect the 60,000 colonists being shipped in.

In the age of new exapansion on a NS Earth so huge that even satellites have not yet mapped it's entire emense surface area, Praetonia attempting to lead the way into a brighter future of a world where Praetonians inhabit every quarter.

OOC: Definitely not to scale. =P

But it gives you the general idea.

Is future tech allowed? I mean, you made mention of it in the description of the region, but that may have just been to provide a challenge for modern people. :)

If so, I'll probably send some colonists in. ;)

OOC: Nah mechs are in every way inferior to tanks. The legs just provide vulnerablility, greatly increase fuel usage, make the vehicle present a massive profile and restrict mobility.

Praetonia, did I ask wether mechs were better than tanks? No. I asked if future tech was allowed.

And with a little creative thinking and tactical future tech planning, Mechs can compliment tanks nicely.

OOC: You're allowed to bring tech up to supermodern. The FT is indeed there to pose a challenge to the colonists :)

Supermodern? I'm not familiar with that one. What would be an example of it?

Im just commenting that I dont think that the limited amount of future tech 'badit people' will be much of a challenge. Dont take everything so personally.

OOC: Considering I expect a fairly large number of colonists being protected by a fairly small number of troops... well, we'll see.

Anyways, bump

Magitek permitted? It's the equivalent of supermodern in a few respects, and the equivalent of modern in the rest.
