Breaking News: Wentin Kahn Rebels launch first attack on Chilan Kahn Govermnent!

IC:
*It was clear now that there was more to this then drugs, but an agenda behind the money being made.
The rebels started to throw grenades into the palace, a few bedrooms and a bathroom exploded in firey doom as the rebels went in from all sides. Death came quickly to the secretary of the palace, and the handful of guards who, while alert, were now stunned. The booms had also caused chaos to erupt outside, a handful of rebels locked in their houses took it as a sign to rebel, and did so, grabbing whatever weapon they had and quickly pelting the guards outside their doors with it.
In a matter of minutes, the capital had turned from martial law and order, to utter chaos, with at least ten soldiers down.
Meanwhile, in the island off the coast, the peoples had already accepted the new rebels as their leaders, raising red flags in place of the flags of Chilan Kahn, ripping those in half and celebrating, perhaps too soon? Perhaps, but perhaps not, for this was already becoming what was to be the last stronghold of the rebellion if it came to that... Then came the News broadcast.*
Masked Rebel:
"To the people of the former nation of Chilan Kahn. Pick up your weapons and join with us. Our government is merely a puppet to its foreign affairs board now, holding us within its Iron Grasp. Release yourselves from this guantlet of censureship, fight! We shall be free brothers..."
*At that two men come from off camera, m4a1's raised, and turn him into a red gorey nothing, then shut off the camera.*
OOC: this is a continuation of the events that happened in the "A Drug War: Chilan Kahn asks for Internation Aid" Thread, so if you want the backstory, go there. or better yet, I'll insert handy hyperlink Here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=6771182#post6771182)

*While it was obvious that the public supported Chilan Kahn, and the already rather strong presence of Mackistahn soldiers was keeping the people in line for now... for the most part. It was still obvious that its own public supported Wentin as more shells went off in the capitol.*
Commander of Chilan Forces:
"Sarge! Casualty report?!"
Sarge:
"We have about 25 down so far, seems that the rebels have already stormed the palace and the T.V Station, and they seem to be doing mass guerilla warfare!"
Commander of Chilan Forces:
"Keep at um men! We will fight to keep this nation together!"
*the men charge, house to house, shooting down both innocent and guilty alike in the blind confusion. Soldiers of both sides dropping like flies, the roads riddled with bloody corpses, occasionally a priest comes to the faithful of their religion, braving the fire to do last rites, or simply to collect the dead for later burial...*

Announcement:
The Sultan of Iraqistoffle, He who follows the most Holy of Books, Leader of the Chosen People, Splendor of the Deserts, Second only to Allah-and-his-prophet, Mustafa Walid al-Hussein Ahmad al-Muhammed, Caliph and Sultan of Iraqistoffle sends this message:
I am delivering operational control of our holy forces in Chilan Kahn to the forces of Mackistahn while I make the Holy Pilgrimage. While Mackistahn is a nation of infidels, they have proven themselves worthy in the eye of the Sultan. Hence, all-praise-be-to-Allah, they shall control our expeditionary force in Chilan Kahn as they see fit, and our mighty warriors shall allow our hospitality and protection.
To those who would rebel in Chilan Kahn : As it is written in the Holy Book: "And he who rebels against his master, shall be punished at the feet of the Caliph, and may he flay the skin from their bones, scourge them, sever the head and impale it on a pike atop the highest minaret. And so shall the muezzin announce the traitors with the morning prayer, that they may be forgotten by the evening feast. This is the will of Allah."
"Iraqistoffle will not tolerate drug-induced rebellion. Be warned, that those found resisting will suffer the gravest of consequences. Inshallah. "
Secret IC:
Mustafa turns to Omar, head of his July 15th Martyr's Brigade cell. "Omar, habibi, I want you to send 30 of your holiest martyrs. Find these rebels, and humiliate them. Something on videotape. Your choice, as long as it's messy, and good quality video. And if you DO bring back any heads, well you know what the Book says."
Omar nods silently, prostrates himself before the Sultan, and leaves on his appointed mission.

*sitting in the bunker under the palace, the Secretary of Defense was beginning to think that his own life was nullified. while victory for Chilan Kahn seemed imminent, it seemed also that it wouldn't be without extreme losses... he heard tank fire outside, and almost constant small arm, and machine gun rounds going off. The light boom of a grenade or two also racked the bunker as he and his best bodyguards sat in the dimply lit bunker, a good amount of food and water was down here, enough, with small amount of rationing, to last them for about a month. But it wasn't the food that was the problem, it was the constant rack of fear, without anything to alleviate it that was really killing him...*
*Meanwhile, the commander of Chilan forces, Hans Ren, looked around. The battle, finally, had been joined. The capitol was slowly but surely falling back under Chilan control, the Mackistahn tanks and the like blowing to smithereens anything that dares oppose it... but there were losses even on the armored side, with a good amount of R.P.G fire, and a handful of grenades, 3 tank have already been destroyed. However he knew that this was far from over. The Capitol was the only true "City" in Chilan Kahn... but the farmlands were basically a collection of huts and homes. Each one of those small villages would also have to be cleared... a tedious, and rather dangerous endeavor. Not only that, but they still had to get to the Secretary in the now Wentin rebel controlled palace...*
Hans Ren:
"Sargeant Fenl! Tell your men, as well as one of the armored to move up against the palace, surround the perimeter and wait for my command to move in. Sargeant Gren! You move your men back to the airfields. I want all of your men to be in choppers and over top of the palace ASAP! Now move!"
*they all acknowledged, and went off...

"This just in from al-Iraqistoffle, the news network of the believer! We've recieved an exclusive tape from a shadowy organization known only as the July 15th Martyrs Brigade, who has taken several hostages from the rebels in Chilan Kahn."
The tape rolls
*A man is shown on his knees, blindfolded, his hands tied behind his back. His head hangs limply, and he has the look of one who has lost all hope.
*A man dressed in all black wearing a black shemagh to cover his face kicks the prisoner sharply in the back. The man falls over.
"This is what happens to those who abuse their mind with the drug of the infidels. We send this message to the rebels of Chilan Kahn.... we have more of your people....,"
*The camera pans to show a line of similarly bound men, women, and teenagers, 25 in total, chained to a wall, then pans back to the black-robed figure
"...and if you do not cease military operations in 24 hours, we will execute one hostage every 6 hours. Each a different way. Each a painful death that will haunt your people forever. Each will be released on video for your revolutionary scum to suffer over. Do not doubt our seriousness. Enjoy this first token of our revulsion for the drug-using infidel...."
*The camera pans back to the man on the floor. The figure towering over him pulls out an automatic pistol and fires it into the man's foot. He screams in pain, writhing on the ground. Two other black-robed figures plant boots on the man to hold him in place. The gunman fires more bullets into the man's legs slowly working his way up to the vital organs, reloading twice. He then screams "ALLAHUAKBAR" and whips a long, curved dagger from his back and begins hacking the man's head off. The man's screams turn to tortured gargles as he begins choking on his on blood, until life finally drains from his body. His head is held up for the camera which then fades to black.
"Remember, you heard it first on al-Iraqistoffle news network, where the infidel is always wrong."
Mackistahn

About 6,000 Mackistahn Soldiers and 250 Merkava’s had been deployed to the Capital City to aid in routing out the Rebels. Meanwhile in Camp Crusader, Several Paladin Artillery pieces from the 2nd Artillery Battalion were busying lobbing shells of CS Riot gas into various parts of the capital city, a distance close to ten miles. Meanwhile, the remaining Paladins, about 230, were loaded with HE rounds and trained on the capital building. If the rebels managed to route the Palace, they would bring it to the ground.
General Burks was drinking coffee as the reports came pouring into his ‘office’ located in on of the prefabricated buildings. Several Merkava’s had been de-treaded due to RPG fire and several soldiers had fallen due to enemy fire. The rebels were not faring quite as well. Wherever they had run into Chilan Kahn forces there had been pitched battle. At the outbreak they’d tried a similar tactic against a Ranger squad. The results had been rather poor, 20 dead rebels and no dead soldiers after a 10 minute gunfight. After several other skirmishes with Mackistahn forces they’d turned to guerilla style combat, which while not particularly effective against the troops, who’d either pile into the troop compartment of the Merkava, LRV or Black Hawk, it was keeping the Rebels alive, as General Burks had given strict Rules of Engagement designed to keep the maximum number of civilians alive. All Mackistahn troops were equipped with gas masks, so when the CS Gas came they had a decided advantage. The mobs of civilians supporting the rebels broke up, and the rebels without proper gear were thrown into disarray.
However, the good nature of the troops ended there. Anyone who did not respond the a challenge from the soldiers was shot in the knee. Any captured rebels were interrogated, if they had information they were sent to Camp Crusader, if they resisted or had no intelligence they were executed with a high caliber pistol round to the head and then discarded. Mackistahn troops were not renowned for their kind nature, but rather for their effectiveness. This was a practice, in addition to many others, that completely barred the nation from ever joining a body like the UN. Several Mackistahn soldiers had taken down people in plainclothes carrying weapons far beyond what Chilan Kahn civilians possessed, when their bodies were searched there was never any kind of identification.
After nearly a day of fighting it seemed the rebels would be routed, after that, it would be a door by door, floor by floor search of the city, the Iraqistoffle forces would be used to block off all entrances and exists to the Capital, Burks knew he could count on that ‘army’ to stop anyone trying to leave, and make an unfortunate example of anyone who dared to cross them.
Someone knocked on his door and he let them in. Wearing Mackistahn army fatigues, complete with body armor, and sidearm the Head of State for Chilan Kahn entered the Generals office…
3 Apaches hovered slowly towards the island off the coast(Mind giving a name?),gunning down SAM stations, destroying defenses along the way.
When they reached what appeared to be the main rebel city, the opened fire upon the rebels, hundreds upon thousands of deadly minigun rounds piercing, shredding rebels and innocents alike.Hundreds fell, mass panic ensued. When they were out of rounds, rockets began slamming into buildings, into streets, into fleeing masses of people.
By this time, several rebels had managed to sneak up on a yet undamaged building...
The pilot of the leftmost Apache saw the flash of light, tried to veer upwards, but the heat seeking anti-air missile impacted onto the Apache, sending it up in a blinding flash of light and sparks.By this time, the center Apache turned towards the rebel group, and blown them up in a mass of blood and gore.
The missiles were gone. The Apaches hovered away, never identified...

The Iraqistoffle Ministry of Defense issues a warning to the infidel rebels of Chilan Kahn.
"All praise-be-to-Allah. May His will be done, last week we have activated the elite 124th infantry regiment, and the 53rd infantry brigade onto alert. Today we call them into glorious action as we deliver them to Chilan Kahn under the joint control of Mackistahn's forces to fight against the rebels. As the Holy Book says, "Where the rebel is found, so shall you kill him." For any infidels watching this, know well that the 53rd brigade and the 124th infantry together comprise over 5000 combat hardened, lavishly equipped, elite troops, among the best our country has to offer.
In addition, we are alerting the 75th Ranger regiment, and the April 22 Holy Revolution Fighter's cell, for possible relief and deployment in the future.

OOC: Apache's aren't that heavily armed, and are extremely vulnerable to SAMs. No military commander in their right mind would send a slow moving attack helicopter against an anti aircraft facility. The average load out for an apache is either 16 antitank missiles (hellfires), or 4 hellfires and 36 rockets, or 72 rockets and two stingers (Very rarely seen.). The cannon load is only 1000 rounds.

OOC: To qualify in case you don't know, Iraqistoffle IS a member of the United States military and HAS seen these vehicles in action. And then there's me, someone extremely well versed on military hardware.
Your portrayl of 3?? Apaches taking out a city in addition to defenses is ridiculous, Apaches simply don't have the ammo, and those rockets aren't that phenomenally destructive, not against a city anway. Its horrific GMing, its fucking ridiculous, keep your posts realistic or get the hell off the thread. A more realistic potrtrayl would be 3 Apaches approach the coastline, SAM defenses having detected them many miles out open fire, the slow moving helicopters can do nothing. Multiple AA rockets remove them from the Rebel Skyline.
I suggest everyone taking part in this thread disregard his post.

Jeez, Mackistahn, lighten up! Not everybody knows a huge amount about military technology-admittedly myself included.

OOC: SAM > ALL HELICOPTERS, those things are damned dangerous. Cruise missiles, and EXTREMELY fast tactical bombers are the only thing that can handle 'em. Other than that, you can probably kiss your ass goodbye if they get a beat on ya, FOR SURE if its a chopper, SAM's come off the rails come way to fast for rotorcraft to avoid.

17-08-2004, 23:01
OOC: And being a helicopter pilot in real life, I can back it up. Not to mention on my flight OUT of baghdad international, our C-5 galaxy was locked onto by a SAM. The only reason it wasn't shot down was because the persons trying to fire it were stupid enough to do it from an open area and were smashed by 25mm fire from a Bradley.
We'd like this thread to remain fairly realistic. Because if we're going to start GMing, I'll activate my entire reserves, drop 1.6 million troops into the country, start conscripting my population, and put another couple million in there. Have them execute everyone in sight carrying a weapon, failing a drug test, doing anythign slightly suspicious, or failing to pledge alliegance to Chilan Kahn.
Let's keep this realistic.

OOC: Thanks, guys, that was less agressive and more informative.
I have to ask though-are flares ANY help at all?
Oh, by the way, I realize now I'm logged in as the wrong nation-this is Westerney, by the way.
I suppose while I'm here...
IC: "Sir, the situation has grown worse. The fighting is getting heavier-it's more like two small countries battling than a rebellion. It's way bigger than intel said."
"Affirmative. Proceed as planned, but if things get hot pull back to the forest. You'll be welcome there."
"Yes, sir. Why?"
"Can't say. Not sure how good these rebels are at listening in on us-I don't want to give them troop deployment info."
"Roger, sir. We're moving in on the palace. Phoenix commander out."
A squad of fifteen men armed with G36's and a Shadowcat Battlemech walked into the hectic battlefield.
"Attention, all Chilan Kahn allied forces, this is the IKRF. We're here to help."
OOC: Hey Chaz, is future tech allowed?
Iraqistoffle
18-08-2004, 03:49
ooc: Flares are minimal help, only against heat seeking missiles. Emplaced SAMs will likely be radar guided.
as far as IC goes, I'd prefer it be 2004 era tech. If we start busting out shadow cats and stuff, I'd probably just counter with releasing thousands of terrorists in the country to kill anyone and everyone. Seriously, I dont like future tech.
The Irish Rebellion

Well, I suppose I'll wait for Chilan's approval for future tech before posting IC again.

ooc: to be honest, I was trying to keep it modern tech to begin with. No future tech.. a little FYI of why I'm not posting and all, I was working like a dog for the past three days at numerous jobs, and finally I get to go on a 10 day vacation, and thus, while I may post if there's internet in the hotel, if not, well.... don't expect to see more posts from me. And yes, I'd say disregard the apache, even I know that an apache would just get wasted if it did that.
IC:
Hans Re, secretary of Defense, paces back and forth in his palace bunker. He could here the shots firing outside, the explosions, everything, but he didn't know how close.
"Commander Wer."
Commander Wer:
"Yes sir?"
Hans Re:
"Commander Wer... see if you can't find out how the other forces are doing... if you must, send a few of your men to look through the rest of the bunker for the phone system."
Commander Wer:
"Yes sir."
At that, Commander Wer and two of his men open the door, and walk out, leaving only two spec op bodyguards in the bunker.
Meanwhile, outside, the other commanders look through the carnage in the street. A small cloud of CS riot gas gently floats itself across the city in various locations.
Unknown commander:
"Status?"
Unknown Soldier:
"Hectic.... but were taking it all back slowly."
Unknown Commander:
"good... all men try to head towards the palace, we can coordinate a good massive attack to reclaim the entire island that way."
Unknown Soldier:
"... yes sir, I'll get on it right away."

"good... are they sending troops?"
Courier:

ooc: Ahem... perhaps I will post something to wrap this up, and something thats, you know, productive and unrushed. Right, and here it is.
IC: *even with the massive support of so many members of the international community, Chilan Kahn the country was in complete anarchy, and the actual Chilan Kahn military personel were starting to plan a coup in aid of the truly communist, albeit slightly curropt, Wentin Kahn revolutionaries. The main island seems to be broken apart into many different factions. Chilan Kahn loyalists still rule the populace close to the palace, albeit loosely. Wentin Kahn controls the small outer island completely, already establishing his main regime there. Anarchists, revolutionaries, and Chilan Kahn loyalists fight in the other towns, while most of the foreign mercenary forces aid in any way they can.
There was also another development. Apparently Wentin Kahn was getting help from an outside group, albeit whom, and what their motives are is still a complete mystery.
Hans Re starts to pace, back, and forth. Finally his military advisor walks in, Commander Wer, the two men not in sight, and his face is bloodied.
Hans Re: "Oh my... what happened to you Commander."
The commander didn't say anything, he simply rose his tandard issue colt .45 to Re's head.
"You back stabbing prick... you set us up!"
Hans Re:
"S-set you up?! What?"
Commander:
"You knew that the rebels were in here already... and you made us go in anyway! And now, after all these years of serving Chilan Kahn... I hate to see that the secretary of defense, possibly the new Head of State, stoop to such a low..."
Hans Re:
"No! You don't understand I-..."
*BANG!*
At that, one shot, Hans was done. Just then, Commander Wer realized his cell phone was on, and guessed who it was.
"Hello Gregor. Your brother is dead, and so is the Chilan government. you might as well stay there, will be a better life for you then that."
*BANG!*
At that, the cell went dead.
