LETI/LOTI Canal conflict

Edenstein

This is Closed to people except LETI LOTI nations.. if you don't know what LETI LOTI is... then it is of no concern...

Across the border from the Welland canal, FA troops maintain their patrols. Occasionally running into their HO, COC, Manarth or Edenstein opposite numbers, they have always maintained a civility in the region. Things might have been tense, but then borders tend to be.

Today was different. The XII Corps, which had been the patrolling unit since the beginning of the occupation, had been recently replaced by III Corps due to a troop rotation. III Corps 4 divisions, 2 armored and 2 mechanized infantry, have been moving more and more south and west in their patrols. Now was their time to strike.

With VI Corps, made up of mostly mechanized infantry moving along toward FA territory from the mainland, III Corps began it's decent into Fei Fong Wong occupied territory. Lead elements crossed after a heavy artillery bombardment.

Manarth controlled and CoC controlled locks fall, the Manarthians not putting up much of a fight, and the CoC surrendering. HO and Edenstein remain unknown.

*Along the Edenstein canal zone, its buisness as usual, troops go about their routine, cleaning their weapons, running drills and inspections, the parimiter defenses are al checked and double checked. Garem Kalliker, a civil servant worker who was sent to the canal zone to run the toll operation for boats recieves a request for passage*

Garem: YEEEEHAW!!! Get on through them thar locks!!! Ya'll have a nice day!!!

*he gets off the radio and picks up his banjo, but before he can he can get more then 12 bars into pachebells cannon in D a 155 mm Artillary shell slams into control office... vaporizing him and most of his banjo*

*Artillary shells come flying in all over the area, and initial casulties are heavy, the 19th army group comes alive as sirens blaze and the Edenstein Artillary opens fire back onto the calculated posistions of the incoming fire, Medics rush about to tend to the wounded and get them under cover*

*A few miles behind the main encampents around the locks the mechanized base stirs alive, 2 Divisions of M1A2's, T-84UF, and T-90 MBT's roar alive, as well as a wing of AH-64 Apache Tank killers. as soon as they are ready, they begin to speed towards the engagement*

::At the Welland Canal, garisson troops perform business as usual. Discussion is currently raging in the mess hall about weather or not the eggs they get in the morning are real ones or if they are powdered artificial ones. Suddenly, an explosion rocks the base. Running out of the mess hall, the troops stand aghast as the ptrolling troops are taken down by artillery fire. One of the Generals runs into the Command tent and radios Alpha Fleet, stationed south of Hairybackistan. Aboard the Command Ship HHS Executor, ice Admiral Tarkin receives word of the attack...::

Tarkin: Featherstones America? I wonder what they want with all of this? Well, if it's a fight they want... we'll hold our positions. ::He grabs a radio. First he radios Admiral Ulonov, then puts in a call to the Carrier HHS Extreme:: Captain Piatt, do you copy?

Piatt: Yes Sir. What are your orders?

Tarkin: I want you to free the birds. 18s North with cover from 14s. Fairly simple, just make sure that that Canal stays in our hands!

Piatt: Yes Sir. Should we head north as well?

Tarkin: Send a few of the cruisers up that direction, but stay out of the way. This is strictly by the book...

FA Y-15 and Y-23 fighters running airpatrols over the FA advance move to intercept the incoming Edenstein aircraft. More Y-15 and Y-23s on the ground scamble to add themselves to the intercept.

Total aircraft:
2 Wings Y-15 in air (F-16 comp)
2 Wings Y-23 in air (F-15 comp)
3 Wings Y-15 launching
4 Wings Y-23 launching

They are splitting off to deal with and overwhelm the left flank (LOTI side) first before dealing with the right flank's Edenstein and HO craft.

Within Lake Ontario, the FA 2nd and 3rd Fleets have begun a combat patrol to engage and destroy any Edenstein ships still outside of LETI waters. The 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th fleets are otherwise occupied (more on that later).

Gen. Horatio Fitzgerald, the CO of the FA push is examining his attack strategy with his division COs...

Fitzgerald: Okay, so the 41st is slowly moving foward against Edenstein possitions, the 53rd has taken Manarth out completely, and is regrouping to flank HO's units from the north. CoC has surrendered from the beginning as planned.

As you can see, the problem lies with the 52nd and the 48th here. ::he points to the HO/north Edenstein area of the map:: We're not making addiquite progress.

41st MJG: Should we use our "special weapons?"

Fitzgerald: Not yet. President Featherstone wants that to be a suprise for the second faze of the opperation. For now, we are to hit the canals as hard as we can.

A young major runs into the room, a bit squeemish around so many generals.

Major: Sir! ::salutes:: Lead elements of the VI Corps have landed at the Manarthian locks, and are moving to surround the HO and Edenstein possitions from the rear!

Fitzgerald: Perfect, and recon shows that Edenstein has already committed a lot to the already open front. We can afford to be slow now, all we have to do now is keep their attention away from the other side's push.

48th MJG: Don't worry sir. We won't let you down.

Fitzgerald: Good, now get back to your stations. I want this area firmly in our hands by Friday at the latest. We're going to need it to hold against their counterattacks.

OOC: Sorry if I'm not the best at air war. I'm better at ground manuvers trust me.

IC: Northern Brittania, C&C bunker for regional Manarthain Military

Gen. Irving Morrell hadn't had a good morning. He'd been woken up with reports of a land invasion of the locks, and from the radio chatter he'd been getting, (or in some cases stopped getting) the Manarth and CoC locks were in enemy hands, and Edenstein and HO's units on the ground weren't having an easy time stopping the invaders. Airstrikes had been called, and he'd considered launching aircraft as well, but something worse loomed on the horizon.

Namely, what was worse was the three fleets of enemy ships that had begun bombarding the navy stationed in the two main Northern Brittanian dock cities. The 1st and 3rd Fleets, the prides of the Manarthian navy, were being bombed to death, without even being able to ready their own aircraft to stop it.

His navy counterpart, Rear Admiral Ulonov (no relation to the famous one, but of Edenstein decent non the less) was screaming his head off for air support, not that it would do much good at this point. All Morrell could do was hope a land invasion could be held off. The fleets were to be written off.

Morrell recalled that the Manarthain 5th Fleet was still stationed at home, but wondered how long it would last against such a foe. A call from HQ decided for him, saying that it would not be diverted but was putting to sea to defend the main island from attack. So much for United Republics, he thought. Push comes to shove, the only one who is saved is Manarth itself.

He busyed himself writting a letter to the 2nd and 4th fleets, still in Eastern Detroit, and sighed to himself. They'd be too little to late.

::As planes launch from Alpha Fleet, Vice Admiral Tarkin finshes having a discussion with Military commander Ramsus Kahr::

Kahr: That's why I think there's more to it.

Tarkin: I think you overestimate their chances...

Kahr: I don't care! I don't care if their only way through was through a small opening in a trench and you had thousands of gun batteries to take them out! We have to assume that this is a very real threat.

Tarkin: I don't understand why this is such a critical situation.

Kahr: You don't have to understand. You have to follow orders

Tarkin: Yessir.

OOC: I'm not so great as the whole numbers in war thing myself, since usually the wars have ended before I got involved... hehehe

IC: Launching from Alpha Fleet currently are:
5 Wings of F/A-18 Super Hornets
2 Wings of F-22 Raptors
3 Wings of F-14 Ultra Tomcats as Air Cover

For the most part, the aircraft is coming in from the southwest, heading east, but a a few special ops squadrons are flanking towards the LOTI side for support.

Two entire fleets of the FA navy steam towards the country of New Edenstein, intent on freeing it from the tyrany of their namesake.

Our wars against the opressors in the Fei Fong Wong Treaty, which have long conspired to keep our fair nation down, has gone off as a great sucess. Only minor resistance remains in our continued efforts to take the Welland Canal. Already Edenstein and HO troops there have taken serious damage, and are falling back. Victory is assured.

We have also taken the teeth out of our local enemies, the Manarthains. Completely destroying a vast majority of thier fleets. The Edenstein fleet still within LOTI waters will be hunted down in no time flat.

FA planes fire off opening salvos at the incoming planes from a hight of 45000, fireing at the F-14 and 22 class planes first. With the Y-23's taking the front into the dogfights, the Y-15s attempt to remain out of the main battle, chosing attacks of oppertunity on the bombers with close range missiles.

On the ground, more fighters scramble to slow down the LETI side units approaching.

4 Wings, Y-15/Y-23

From the initial salvo, 18 planes are shot down. 3 more sustain damage, but not enough to crash, and instead limp back to base.

Ground Missile batteries, about 8 of them on the approaching cource, which had been moving foward with the troops, open fire on the incoming aircraft.

::The HO fighters enter into the fray, with the F-18s lowering to bomb the FA artillery targets. The F-14s provide cover, with any available extra ones diverting to aid the Edenstein craft.

Alpha Fleet launches more planes specifically to support the Edenstein planes:

1 Wing of Cormorant WIG ASW Planes "Just to keep an eye out" says Kahr
2 more Wings of F-22s

SAM missiles moving foward with the artillery and other units open fire on the HO craft as they swoop low to bomb the FA advance. FA aircraft (limited in number) engages from a distance. Trying to make the most out of their long range missiles, and refusing to commit to a dog fight.

To the north, the FA aircraft continue to hammer away at the Edenstein craft.

OOC: How are my ground units doing. They've outflanked both Edenstein's and HO's units on the ground, and they haven't really been stalled by your aircraft's attacks (though it has bogged down the southernmost units attacking Edenstein's forces.) Have I cut any units off? Forced any to surrender? Taken the locks completely?

::On the ground, HO troops are in total disarray. They had been ready for an attack, but not a surprise attack of the caliber FA was pulling off. They continue trying to hold FA troops back as long as they can, but it's clear that they are merely buying time, not trying to win.

In the air however, things are different. With their superior numbers and training, the HO planes are getting closer to the FA planes. With luck they'll reach them soon and begin to dogfight. Of the first group of planes, 9 F-14s and 2 F-18s are shot down by the SAMs and long range missiles. 1 other F-14 started having engine troubles and had to turn around and return to base. He didn't make it...

Jake Featherstone: So, how exactly is the battle going so far?

Nathanial Bedford Forrest III: Well, Gen. Fitzgerald is doing quite well on the ground. Not as fast as we were hoping for, but, asside from a nuclear attack, we should be in full controll of the locks by Sunday (LETI standard time) at the latest.

In the air, we obviously didn't commit enough forces to the mix. We're trying to overwhelm the LOTI based Edenstein fleet, but I don't know if we can take them all out. Our ground forces shouldn't take too much damage though.

We still haven't found the Edenstein navy. They should be close by, but our fleets haven't managed to tryangulate where the fighters launched from. We figure the fighters moved in a roundabout path, and the fleets pulled back somewhere. Possibly to NB or NE. We figure they don't have much in the way of air support now, but that doesn't say much. They're still bigger than the biggest Manarthain fleet.

Featherstone: And how is the rest going?

Forrest: Our fleets have managed to arrive at NE, and we're in the process of negotiating with their leaders. They would be a great help.

Featherstone: No kidding. And the rest of our fleets?

Forrest: On schedule. They're regrouped from the inital Manarthian bombing, and our forces are moving into possition. Cargo ships have been loaded, and the 1st 3rd and 4th armies are standing by. 5th and 6th are still in preparations.

Featherstone: Good, they're our backups right?

Forrest: Right. 3rd will take and hold the first area, and the rest will move in once our airforce moves in for the short range attacks.

FA is losing the airwar, though their conservative tactics have saved more than a few pilots lives.

The ground war is going worse than planned, but better than the worst case senario. Even despite the growing bombing campaign, and entrenched Edenstien possitions, FA has far more soldiers than the defenders. Over in the HO sector, things are going much the same.

And at the end of a small wooded area, Lt. Col. Tom Colleton, bowing to his promise to his soldiers, stips of his cloathing and takes a swim in the Welland Canal. Having cut Erie off from Ontario.

Lt. Col. Tom Colleton looked through is binoculars, out from the Edenstien made trench his troops had siezed, towards the front of the Edenstien line. More and more troops had been building there over the last couple of days. Word had come out from those troops containing the HO troops situated around lock 3 (lock 4 was still hotly contested, neither side able to claim it) that the HO had counterattacked. Nothing much had come of it, but high command was worried. This new Edenstein push needed to be containied, and fast.

Worse, Edenstien aircraft flew almost uncontested through the sky. Sure anti-air flak and SAMs were present just back from the front lines. Sure FA craft still flew patrols. Sure no FA base had been too badly hit by runway busting bombs. There just weren't enough planes to cover everywhere. And now, they were concentrating on taking out the HO pocket.

His force was to be the spearhead, assisted by a full regiment of Barrels (Tanks). The only reason they were still full is because they were untested incombat. Lt. Col. Colleton wished he could have vet. tank drivers, but these things happened. As it is he was happy to have a 80% strength regiment of vet. infantry.

Soon the order was given, and his regiments, with several other groups scheduled to follow quickly behind, began pushing foward, as artillery bombardments walked slowly foward in front of them. The artillery didn't take out every Edenstien soldier, as it rarely did, and they began to return fire at the tanks and soldiers. Colleton wondered just how hard it would be to chase them out completely, or if it wouldever happen.

*all around on the hover craft where men in Pvt. Weber's platoon, a lot of them looked nervous, not knowing what they where about to step into, he looked at Tex, who among everyone on the craft had the most experiance, with campaigns in Izimbeckwi, CoC, and God knows where else, was sitting on an ammo crate smoking a cigarette*

Weber: Smoking near that ammo could kill you.
Tex: Like the cigarette or the 50 Caliber rounds that could be zinging at us coulding't
Weber: Good Point.
Tex: Nervous Kid?
Weber: A little, this is gonna be my first real engagement.
Tex: You'll be ok.. just remember.. if you hear an arty round coming in, and it sounds like a banshee in the middle of the night, don't fret over it.. your already dead.
Weber: Thanks Tex.. *Tex Nods his helmet and goes back to smoking his cigarete*
Sgt: ONE MINUTE!!! GET READY!!!

*Weber looks down to make sure his AK-105 is ready to go, he also checks the 44 Magnum that his father sent him from home, it wasn't military issue but his commander allowed him to carry it. Outside he could here the distant thuds of the Shells comming in from the battleships softening up and thing that would be waiting for them on the shore*

Sgt: 30 SECONDS! BUTTON UP MARINES!!!

*Weber clasped the cross that hung around his neck and gave it a kiss, the hover craft made a thudding noise as it came up on shore, and the engines roared as the pilot threw them into reverse, Weber looked over at Tex who was just now standing up and making sure his SAW was ready. The front hatch of the craft swung down and the order came to exit, Weber and the rest of the marines plowed up onto the shore and took up defensive posistions behind some of the brake walls, waiting for the tanks and heavy equipment to come ashore*

Sgt: Marines, looks clear, lets head up the beach.

*Weber thought in his head, "WHAT? MOVE UP THE BEACH!!! ITS SAFE HERE" then all of a sudden he is jerked out of his daze by Tex, who grabes him by his pack and stands him up*

Tex: Come on private *looks at name patch, Weber... the war's not gonna wait on us!

Weber: Thanks Tex.. *he grabs his weapon and starts walking up the beach, he turns around to watch as a few M1A2's roll off of the bigger hovercrafts*

Lt. Col. Colleton wasn't happy anymore. His forces had pulled back from the latest push into Edenstein territory and thrown to the south where Edenstein had opened up a second front. Worse, his forces were stretched thin on AA with most of the attached units being sent back to the airbases; apparently some Edenstein Brigadeer had gotten the bright idea to attack the airfields directly. They had been driven off, but not before the folks with stars on their collars had decided that the airfields needed more ground based firepower.

Ahead of him, about 2 lines up, a grenade exploded in a hastily dug FA foxhole. The three men maning it started screaming in pain, as those nearby began calling for the medic. Two Edenstein soldiers ran up to the foxhole, but were cut down by FA fire. The rest apparently decided not to press their luck.

Jake Featherstone was practically livid. "Edenstein has never opened a second front anytime in the history of their warfare! Why do they have to start now?" His aide srugged dejectedly. "He was just supposed to roll over and take the loss. He was supposed to have been thrown out, before he could resupply... And HO still has a pocket holding out? Aaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhh!"

"That's it. It's time to start the next phase. Alert our mercenaries in the CoC, we're taking this to the next step."

OOC: Time to put these CoC mercenaries to use...

IC: The FA 4th fleet, moving from FA towards the land claimed by the CoC known only as Kusa, arives. There, it meets it's escourt... hundreds of hastely assembled transport ships. God ugly in design, they appear to be cobbed together from whatever ships were available at the time.

They are weighted down deep into the water with CoC trained troops, though they wear the flag of FA on their sleeve, right under their CoC insignia. Over 5 Corps worth of Mercenaries have been purchased for this attack.

The FA 2nd fleet. Moving south from FA controlled Canada, arrives at it's destination the same time 4th fleet and it's new escourt arives at thiers. 2nd fleet contains much the same cobbed together ships, and troops. 5 Corps in all.

The 2nd fleet begins landing troops near Brocksville, while the 4th fleet does the same near West Miami. The land invasion of Manarth has begun.

::An Aerial attack takes off from FA with 2 Full wings of F-16's carrying J-SOW's They are attacking the Armored formations of Manarth around West Miami. Before their arrival a full wing of F-22A Raptors Blazes through the sky at supercruise(Mach 1.3) and upon spotting Manarthian Fighters they launch 3 AMRAAM's a piece while still flying straight and fast blowing through the Manarthian formations scattering them as they attempt to dodge the missiles. Fast on the heals of the F-22's are 2 Wings of F-15C's that fly into the Manarthian mess and mix it up with whatever Manarthian Fighters are still in the air. The F-16C's Climb to an altitude of 60,000 feet and from 60 Miles from the Manarthian Heavy Divisions they launch their J-SOW's. Once the J-SOW's reach their destined path they seperate into 24 smaller IR Homing Submuntions that are designed to impact on the very very thin armor upon the top of a turret or engine deck of a tank. A total of 13,824 sub-munitions seek out any Tank, APC, IFV, Artillery Piece and SAM site over a 200,000 acre radius.::

::Off Brocksville 2nd Fleet begins its bombardment and a Second Air Attack much like the one off Miami takes place softening the area up(and slaughtering anything that moves) ::

Admiral Steven Portlage, the commander of what remained of the Manarthian navy, sat uncomfortably in the cramped quarters of the Silencer class submarine. Fortunately for Manarth, during the Northern Brittania attack, almost every sub was out performing routine patrols, and avoided the fate of the fleets stationed there.

His hastily assembled submarine wolfpack was about to do the unthinkably stupid, but staffed with only volenteers, were more than willing to die for thier goal to succeed.

Captain Mark McMillian Rutters (named after the Marine leader), looked through the periscope and consulted the sonar and surface radar opperatives. Then he nodded.

CPT Rutters: Admiral, we've made it all the way undetected. I can't guarentee we'll have a free ride in, but I've got you this far. Good luck, and Prophet speed you past the void.

The Admiral ran to one of the waiting helicopters, as the Captain relayed the order to surface to the rest of the wolfpack. Soon, the rotars turning, the helicopters took off through the open canopy, and speed off towards the land in front of them.

Looking out, the Admiral could see fourty one other helos in the air, moving in formation behind his own. Streaking low to the water, they watched as the subs resubmurged and slunk back to Manarth. As they approached the mainland, no fire shot out to greet them, the black sky blanketed them from the ground. Touching down in a cratered field, the helicopters set down, and everyone disembarked, including the pilots. Grabbing everything they could from the helos, they moved foward toward the thin sliver of water they could see in the distance...

The Welland Canal lay before them, and somewhere a pocket of HO soldiers needed to break out. It was up to them, a band of 884 soldiers to break an entire invasion force, and save the day...

Admiral Portlage was sweating, but was still in fair enough shape. This was the most moronic plan he'd ever had, but he was going to make it work, or die trying.

The beachhead was in chaos. Simply put, the Manarthians didn't have the troops anywhere on their main island to stop the attack on one of the beachheads, much less 2 at once. That didn't stop them from trying.

Aircraft from airbases across Manarth fought with the FA/COC aircraft, and did their best to slow down the invasion. Their best wasn't enough. On the ground, troops were too thin to stop so many tanks at once. While they slowed the advance as best they could, more kept comming, and the local military leaders were forced to withdrawl, with civilian evacuees clogging the streets, to the outskirts of Ft. Lincoln and Narshee. Marines attached to the 5th fleet in Port Hrabe prepared to defend the city, should the attack turn south, while a large contingent of irregulars and ad hoc companies prepared to defend Wainright City from attack.

Bravado: New reports? Dear God tell me their good reports. I seriously don't know how much longer we can hold out. We're still outnumbered, and we're running low on supplies.

Fickets: ::tosses some papers onto the cot:: Well we're not really sure yet. Manarth ships are in the area, and there are reports that CoC and WPB forces are preparing to get involved as well.

Bravado: ::Almost swallows his cigarette. He coughs and hacks for a moment, looks at the cigarette and puts it out:: And all of this over a small little lock of a canal. Is it really worth it? I mean, what's the point of it all?

Fickets: Sir?

Bravado: I don't know. Suddenly this little conflict is turning into a gigantic war, and you know, one of the big players lucked out and isn't involved yet.

Fickets: Are you talking about Crippleslovenia?

Bravado: No! They've pretty much sunk into the sea. I'm talking about Pax. I've been hearing from the higher ups that there's something foul about that place. I wish I knew, but that's all I found out. But something tells me this conflict here is a cruicial part of it. That's why we MUST fight on!

::Several of the F-16's and a whole wing of F-15E's are loaded up with Specials.::

::Orders for launch are received and the Enourmous CoC Fighter force and its support takes to the sky, they fly south barely touching Northern Illinois then fly along on that Latitude through southern Michigan and Northern Ohio as they near Erie, PA they swing North East and the F-22's and F-35's go to supercruise. They are nearing the Edenstein beachhead at Dunkirk. They see the Edenstein Airforce flying patrols over the locks and the F-22's accelerate past the F-35's and at Mach 2 they fly straight towards the Edenstein fighters in the sky keeping radio silence and then at a predetermined point they light up their search radars and find targets and all 12 wings of F-22's launch a pair of AMRAAM missiles at their targets not slowing down but blasting through the CAP and continuing on to Featherstones America bases. The 14 Wings of F-35's at mach 1.1 come screaming afterwards they all launch a pair of AMRAAM's as well and blast through. On their Tales are 2 wings of F-14D Tomcats that all Launch 6 Phoenix Missiles apiece from 75 miles and they bore in until their missiles reach targets and then turn to the east to fly to Featherstones America Bases. 24 Wings of F-15 Eagles come in at 500 Knots And engage/Dogfight any Edenstein Fighters still in the air. Providing interference for the F-16's and F-111's

The 5 Wings of F-16G's turn on their search radars and any SAM site or ground based radar that is active is shot at from the HARM missiles carried by the F-16's. 12 of the Wings are carrying specials and after the actual beachead has been cleared of cover they fly in dropping off special little packages. Chemical burst bombs are dropped. There is an enourmous mix of Bleeder agents, Blister Agents, VX Gas and even Mustard gas and the whole beachead and all supply depots for 20 miles is blanketed in the stuff. the other 13 Wings are all armed with J-S0W weapons and those are dropped from 20 Miles out alotting for 89,856 Sub-munitions that go for any vehicle in the Beachhead and wherever the Edenstein forces have advanced to.

The 4 Wings of F-111's come in each dropping a Single MOAB amongst any troop concentrations that can be found.

The Hornets come in each carrying 4 Harpoon Anti-Ship Missiles and engage the 10th Legion fleet and mainly all supply ships while 4 of those wings carrying carry HARM missiles that begin engaging every radar set in those fleets. That is a total of 5760 Harpoon Missiles and 1152 HARM missiles. ::

OOC:Just as a reminder you can't shoot down a HARM missile and they have as much range as a SM-2 Anti-Air missile.

OOC:quick note on Chemical warfare, deContamination is a B*tch, All of your forces would have to assume MOPP 4(Mission Oriented Protective Posture) which means that they must don their Protective Masks first of all(Can't get the same amount of air so Exertion will tire you out REALLY Fast, possibly causing Hyperventilation), then there Chemsuits which consists of a Battle Dress Overgarment Top that is charcoal Lined and bottom that is Charcoal lined, a Pair of Rubber Gloves and then a pair of Rubber Overboots. The whole suit will raise the enviromental tempature for that individual soldier 20 Degrees and its still summer. And those suits only last 24 hours and then the chemicals start seeping through. Not to mention if a chemical attack happens to you, your not going to get the suit on in time, it takes about 6 minutes per person. (Working with a promask slows you down) And any contact and they are going to have to give themselves Shots but if enough exposure has happened they have to give themselves this one shot, that will put them in a coma so they won't die. This is why you don't use chems in frontline units you use it on their equipment and supplies so that any forces that survived this air attack will begin running low on fuel, ammo, food, water, spare parts, etc.

Nasty Stuff isn't it? Now you have to set up Decon Points and safe zones and bring in enough Chemical Gear for ALL of your troops on a daily basis. Enjoy.

Plus, reports were starting to come in of Manarthian special forces troops cutting holes in his supply chain around the HO pocket.

While units in Narshee have been cut off by the advancing CoC military, and the irregulars in Wainright city had not been attacked in force, ordinary Manarthians were remembering the olden days, and joining the militia.

Setting up strings of cars and burning tires across the roads, and posting what little armor they had along the suburbs leading into the city, they prepared to make their stand against II and IV corps there.

In the West, where I, III, and V corps moved closer to Lake Clarke, Ft. Lincoln stood in their way. However, without enough troops, and with their sides to easily flanked by the low rolling hills and clearcut forest in the area, the military forces began a fighting withdrawl to Yeehaw Junction.

To the north of the invasion, the port town of Miami had been evacuated, with the remains of the 5th fleet there leaving port for the inadaquate facilities at New Quinto City.

To the south, Manarthians assumed FA units would push on to New St. Matthewstown, the financial center of Manarth, and prepared a defence there.

Mecha 2: I don't get it! There's almost no fire on us here! What's going on? Aren't they even going to fight?

Mecha Leader: Well for one, we did a fairly good job of eliminating the threat in the skies, except for this new group of FOOT-COCS I heard about. But we shouldn't worry about those. Eva Wing is the best group of pilots we have.

Mecha 1: Boy, you're sure making us feel good...

Mecha Leader: Well we're not here to feel warm and fuzzy. Everyone knows that Eva Wing is our top pilots, let's face the facts. That doesn't mean we aren't important, and that certainly doesn't mean we can slack off in our jobs. Indeed it means we should strive to do our best to live up to the prestige that is our fine HO Air Force.

::Colonel Bravado gets the transmission for a standdown of forces. He looks out at the recently arrived corps of soldiers::

Bravado: Son of a...

Fickets: Sir?

Bravado: You know, it figures.

Fickets: Are we going to open negotiations?

Bravado: Well I guess we have no choice. However, keep all the men on standby. Oh, and since this was FA's transmission, inform Eva Wing that they are to continue pursuit of the FOOT-COC bastards who dropped those chemical bombs. I want them brought to justice...

OOC:Steve if you want to hit em, they are all (minus about 35% losses) parked in FA. Be my guest.

::Eva Wing is flying near FA. As they near the border, they wait for orders::

Eva Leader: Eva Wing, this is Eva Leader. I have new information that the CoC aircraft is IN FA. Repeat, they are IN FA.

Eva 2: Great! Let's have at 'em!

Eva 1: Wait a minute! By doing that, won't the FA people think we're attacking them? At that point the war will escalate from a canal conflict to a full out war between our two nations!

Eva 2: Isn't that what we're after anyway?

Eva Leader: No it isn't 2. We are authorized to destroy the CoC aircraft, but we have specific orders NOT to attack FA untill we see what comes of the proposed cease-fire.

Eva 4: Then what are your orders, sir?

Eva Leader: Observation. I want us out of FA airspace, but we need to know what those planes are doing at all times. The second they leave we need to be on 'em. And they need to pay dearly for their crimes...

Rifken: General, I am Major Rifken, 3 Edenstein Divison, welcome to Sector Dog green. I'd offer you some steak but we are out of A-1 sauce *he chuckles a little bit* What can I do for you General?

Within the locks

Lt. Gen. Koenig: Thank you for the kind offer. I don't suppose you have a suitable location where your representative, someone from the HO, and myself could meet to discuss terms?

In Manarth

My map refuses to load, so more information on that location will come later.

In FA, the volonteers in the CoC airforce are sorounded by FA soldiers. A Major calls out to the air force soldiers.

Major: In accordance with the treaty signed between Edenstein and the CSA, you are declaired to be war criminals for your blatant disreguard to the rules of engagement set about by the geneva convention.

I'm awfully sorry for all this, but we need the peace treaty. Best of luck you guys.
