The Allanean Military: A sourcebook
“Join the Army.
You’ll travel the world, meet interesting people, and kill them”.
--Unknown
The Allanean Military is the most publicised military on the planet. However, up until today it was only publicised by the world media. This booklet is the first official publication on the matter - and it’s the definitive source of information on the matter, just as well.
If there’s ANY question you’d want to ask about the Allanean Military, you’ll probably find it here – in the Allanean Military Sourcebook. And if you don’t, just phone the Allanean Department of Defense at 357-38-455-3030, and we’ll tell you all that is not classified.
Chapter One: Every Soldier A Designated Marksman
"The defensive firearm is a special-purpose piece of safety rescue equipment, designed to extricate a person... from the immediate threat of savagely violent crime. It is like the fire extinguisher.... Neither piece of equipment will do you any good if you don't know how to use it or are not psychologically prepared to face danger with that gear in your trained hands in a terror situation."
-- Massad Ayoob, Handgun Primer
The Allanean Army is probably on of the most expensive armies on the planet. The average pay, per soldier, is about $2,000 dollars per month. It means it costs several dozen billion dollars annually to pay those salaries – but that is not yet all. The Allanean Armed Forces also invest about $1,500 per month per soldier, on average for the housing, feeding, training and other day-to-day concerns.
For that kind of money, the Allanean taxpayer has the right to demand the best – and the best is what they get. Every Allanean soldier undergoes an extensive training scenario with a heavy emphasis on markshmaship. While any Allanean is trained in markshmanship on some level (the Allanean Department of Education budget includes funding to allow the expenditure of about 1,000 rounds per student per year of high-school to that end), the Allanean Military carries it to a whole new level. Every Allanean soldier undergoes a basic training period from two months (support troops) to nine months (Marines and Warbikers), during which he fires at the very least 1,000 rounds in a month (!).
The mainstay small arm of the Allanean Army is the Accord Assault Rifle (AAR-36). It is nothing less than a conversion of the G-36 assault rifle into 6.5mm Grendel, allowing an effective range of 900 yards. And, generally speaking, if you are in that range from an Allanean soldier, you better get good cover.
Futhermore, the Allanean Sniper Academy takes the principle of the Allanean sharpshooter to it’s limits, producing, through rigorous training (and 3,000 rounds per man per month, on average) what are some of the best snipers in Haven. Of these, about one hundred per infantry division are deployed under the command of the respective infantry divisions. Also, about 10,000 men are organised in a unit known as the Allanean Sniper Division. The ASD usually deploys in small units along a long front – or breaks down into small units to support divisions. Either way, the Allaneans are able to provide for a density of accurate small arms fire unknown to any other nation.
Speaking of firepower, the Allanean Snipers use not only the common 7.62-millimeter sniper rifles of various calibers, and the almost as common .50-caliber sniper rifles, but also the monstrosity known as the Charles Whitman Sniper Rifle – a 30mm high-accuracy semi-automatic grenade launcher, capable of taking down human targets at 1,000 meters. Perhaps one of the most impolite things you can say about the Allaneans is that they use too much gun – but than again, the Allaneans never understood the meaning of “too much gun” in the first place.
The power of Allanean military is not limited to the men who serve under it’s banner. Not only that, in an emergency, the Allanean Government can call up every man or woman aged from 16 to 45, but the Allanean Department of Education has formed two Scout Corps to assist in emergency – the Boy Scout and Girl Scout Corps, composed of high-schoolers aged 16 to 18, each about 500,000 strong, armed with M-16A1 rifles. In the Fifth Edolian War, the Boy Scout Corps has successfully battled and defeated Feline troops in Heston City. The Boy Scout Monument in their memory stands to this day.
The Allanean Military is based around the idea of combining lots of people with varying skills into a single, highly-coordinated team. Consider the Allanean infantry squad. It is formed of ten people: the gunner, commander, and driver of the Jeffrey Dahlmer infantry fighting vehicle, five riflemen, a grenadier (armed with a Siegfried rocket launcher) and machinegunner (carrying a Robert Steinhauser light machinegun. In combat, they coordinate with other troops in their platoon.
The Allanean Infantry Platoon is composed of 5 infantry squads and a Hannibal Lector Mark II tanks. A Battalion includes 9 Infantry platoons and an Engineering platoon – organised the same way, but also having an additional Ariel Sharon Engineering Vehicle attached to it. Each Allanean Army Regiment is composed of 5 such battalions. Apart from those, every Regiment includes 10 Usama Bin Laden AA vehicles, 10 Timothy McVeigh Self-Propelled Cannon and 10 Charles Manson MRLS systems. It will also include 50 Ariel Sharon Engineering Vehicles and 1,300 support troops.
The Mechanised Infantry division is composed ot 10 regiments, an air-wing of 100 Jason Vorhoosen helicopters and 100 Stephen Harper AV’s, and a long-range battery of 100 Abu Abbas missile launchers, also including 100 snipers.
Table 1.a.: Content of an Allanean Division:
Troops: 4,500 (100 Snipers)
Vehicles: 450 Jeffrey Dahlmer IFV's
Artillery:
Troops: 700
Vehicles: 100 Charles Manson MRLS systems
100 Timothy McVeigh Self-Propelled Cannon
100 Abul Abbas Launcher
Air Defense:
Troops: 400
Vehicles: 100 Usama Bin Laden anti-aircraft tanks
Armour:
Troops: 400
Vehicles: 100 Hannibal Lector Mark II tanks
Air Force:
Troops: 200
Vehicles: 100 Jason Voorhoosen attack/transport helicopters, 100 Stephen Harper AV-6s
Engineering:
Troops: 900
Vehicles: 100 Ariel Sharon Combat BullDozers
50 Jeffrey Dahlmer IFV's
Support troops: 13,000
Total Division Size: 20,000 troops
Ten Divisions join together to form a Corps. At this level, cooperation with the Air Force and other units is necessary. The commander of a Corps will also find under his command various non-standard units. For example, the commander of the First Corps (located on the Axackal border) has under his command an Air Armada (1,000 Anne Coulter Mark III fighter bombers and 100 RB-225-800 Megafortress bombers). He also commands the UGAV division (2,250 UGAV’s controlled by support troops). His comrades who run Army Corps 1 to 5 have similar resources under their command, except that they don’t have UGAV’s. Together, 5 Army Corps (50 divisions, mind you!) form an Army Group. Army Corps 1-5 are the Axackal Army Group. And their commander has FAR more interesting stuff to play with. Because at this level, you got Navy units cooperating with you. For the Axackal Commander, it means ten Aircraft Carriers, a Predator Battleship and 1000 Navy Anne Coulter Mark III’s based from them. He also commands all permanent positions on the border.(see appendix A)
The other Army Groups are similar, with an air armada per corps. You will find more details about them in Appendix A. And now brace for chapter 2!
