The Imperial Navy reports that the Deepwater Drydocks are being updated to handle “increased capacity”. The Canton Duchy drydocks are currently tasked with housing and, when necessary, repairing the Navy’s six Leviathan class superdreadnaughts. Curiously, the number of drydocks is staying the same, but the volume of the drydocks is increasing dramatically. What makes this whole operation so notable is the fact that the Deepwater facilities are carved into the huge cliffs that define the duchy’s sea border, so increasing the size of these facilities is not a trivial matter.
Also curious is the fact that the reported final dimensions of the updated docks will mean that the Deepwater facilities will be the only ones in the Imperium that could handle Doujin class ships. Imperial officials, both civilian and Navy, continue to deny rumors that the Imperial Navy entered into talks with Doujinshi Corp officials to acquire production rights to a limited number of Doujin class vessels.
[This should finish about the same time as the construction on the new destroyers does.]
