just wanted to know if anyone has started selling these in a storefront or something as i was going to equip my submarines with them once i find out

OOC: Almost everyone has... Some debate on how much range and warhead you can pack into one, because so much information is classified, especially on modern (Shkval was made in '70s) ones like the US Navy version.

I myself operate an array of supercavitating weapons systems (Everything from 20-35mm ASHUM guns to huge supercavitating 'cruise torpedo'.

My future tech nation, and several others, operate supercavitating vessels, but this is at least 40 years away.

OOC: I use alot of Supercavitating torpedos actually. What happens is that a rocket is fired which speeds up the torpedo to nearly 400 mph. When this happens small air bubbles form around the torpedo which keeps it from coming in contact with the water. The water flows around the air bubbles not the torpedo itself so their is virtually no drag. Only problem is that once you fire one of them everyone and their grandma knows where you are.

I know SC vessles are a little far fetched right now but the torpedoes was what i wanted to find out about for ns nations. i didnt want to annouce development of them or something with a non-link explanation and be labled a god modder

You don't need to hit 400mph... The Shkval only travels at a bit over 130-150mph, I believe... The bubble forms around 100mph for a torpedo.

SuperCavs can get up to 200 knots of speed, but not for long - it's a rocket underwater - and it's maneuverability is limited. However, it's noisy as hell, and phenomenally expensive.

SuperCavs were designed as last ditch weapons by the Russians. If a sub is going down/going to be destryoed, they fire that to try and make sure they at least take an enemy down with. If you fire one otherwise it will light up your location to every sonar within a hundred miles :x
