Requiring FTL

"Greetings shipwrights of the Solar System. The Lossë-elen Armaments subdivision needs your help. We require a limited Faster Than Light drive capable of up to a one AU jump, capable of fitting into a cubic compartment of 5 meters by 5 meters by 4 meters, capable of generating a window of sixty meters by thirty meters. Price is not an object."

We have something similar, a slipdrive, it tears a hole thru subspace, after folding the space between both destination and origin. If used when stuck between the gravity of a sun and planet, or a bi-solar system, it has been know to shift to AU's, this can even be trimmed to select one, but the amount of energy required to do so, would only leave two trips possible from it befoire it burnt out.

OOC: Ctan, aren't you Shivan? If you aren't I MIGHT help you, if you are, I'm in the ESUS, so I can't.

I have to inform you that, the device you're looking for is very damaging to the STC. I would be careful. Also, the offer you were given is EXTREMELY unsafe. Rips can work, but they're unstable most of the time. If you use his device, you could find yourself in another time. If it were a major lapse in time, the ESUS would be forced to eliminate the threat to the STC.

Unfortunately, cheap, small drives are very hard to find, safe ones are even harder, the safer they are, the more expensive, we do have something, but it would be cheaper to just buy a new ship.

Well, spare STCs are very, very hard to find. Understood?
we have some FTL drive thats safe and willing to sell you the tech
and JJR shut up the ESUS will do nothing only the people who sign the Temprol Acord and most likly only Indra Prime (as he is known as the Gardiun of Time) will do anything.

well, its not dangerous if used the way it is meant to use, like I said, I can offer him something much safer, but it will be expensive.

OOC: Absoloutely not. I've barely noticed them. And... STC?

I'm not. The Temporal Accord specifically states that the source of a major jump in time must be eliminated immediatly. I have SIGNED the Temporal Accord and I will try to hold to it. We don't want to rip the STC to shreds.

OOC: Ah, good. Space Time Continuum. You know, fabric of space?

OOC: Meh. Such things are of no interest to us. I'm not going to be using any technology with the potential for working time travel. Sorry.

OOC: Meh. Such things are of no interest to us.
OOC: Yeah, but I had the sign the Temporal Accord. Which is all about that. Anyways, we just don't want to destroy everything in the multiverse in one very foul swoop.
How about you use the BattleSpire? We can provide a dedicated portal from a planet or spacial location of your choice to any other point. The net cost for a dedicated home portal is US$1.200billion/year, which is probably less than what it'll take you to build your own facilities. It takes approximately thirty minutes to create a second portal.
Explanation:
The BattleSpire is a network of eight portal gates that can be used to transfer any object to the 'present' time in another spacial location. One gate is used to enter the network. From there, the object is transfferred into the BattleSpire portal, and moved across the circle into another portal, which leads to the object's final destionation.
The Ctan --> dedicated home portal --> BattleSpire circle --> variable portal --> final destination.
Transfer is done via hovertrain, in order to speed up time. A time lag of roighly 238ms has been experienced for each portal.
Time travel is not possible via the network, but not due to lack of trying.

OOC: They don't lack such technology, they're quite capable of building their own portals and capship FTL, they're just looking for something for a special project.

JJR: just so you know, the Temporal accord doesn't restrict FTL. It only restricts temporal drives or drives which can be turned to temporal drives easily. Most FTL doesn't fall under this category, otherwise the Temporal accord would have to fight almost every other space nation.
C'Tan: Sorry, can't help ya. All our FTL drives are too large.
