(Note: The EA-148 is not a new aircraft, the old sales thread was simply lost in the Jolt changeover and this is a replacement. However the s EA-150 single seat version is a new development.)

EA-148

Design

The EA-148 is the principal jet trainer of the Elias Armed Forces. The design of the airframe is very conventional in order to be stable and easy to fly by pilots with little experience. It is highly spin-resistant, requiring full rudder to initiate and maintain a spin and recovering in one turn after centralising the flying controls. Stall characteristics are predictable and progressive.
Low-speed handling provides the student pilot with minimal trim changes when the flaps and gear are retracted or extended. Crosswinds of up to 30 knots can be accommodated on aircraft take-off or landing with or without stores. The aircraft maintains positive control in all flight manoeuvres up to Mach 1.4.

Cockpit

The cockpit is designed to mimic the controls of larger more powerful jet aircraft and is fully compatible with the use of night-vision goggles. The night-vision system gives 24-hour operational capability and complements the Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) sensor by allowing the pilots all-round situation awareness.

The three multifunction displays present all the aircraft flight data, navigation and sensor displays, weapons control, engine monitor, and radio and radio navigation functions. All the information is available on any display and is selected by the pilot, using computer-controlled 'soft keys'. The Hands-On-Throttle-And-Stick-Control (HOTAS) control column and throttle handle mode selection and switch selection are representative of front-line aircraft.
The Head-Up Display (HUD) features full navigation, air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon aiming formats. The flexible software allows a selection of formats, including variable HUD symbology.

Weapons

The aircraft has seven external hardpoints for carrying weapons, one on the centreline under the fuselage, two hardpoints under each wing and an air-to-air missile launch rail at the two wingtips. The EA-148 can carry electronic warfare pods and a radar warning receiver.

The aircraft can be fitted with a Radar Emulation Pod, which allows the aircraft to represent a number of different aircraft and missiles by simulating their radar emissions. This allows the aircraft to carry out additional support roles as an aggressor or a target, for land-, sea- or air-based forces.

The Stores Management System enables the aircraft to deploy the full range of weapons from practice weapons to laser and satellite guided munitions as well as rockets, air to air and air to ground missiles. The pilot selects the weapons by using the multifunction displays. The system has sufficient capacity to ensure that the aircraft is capable of being configured for indigenous weapon systems.

Systems have been designed to reduce the reliance on ground equipment and to enhance overall aircraft capabilities. Modifications to the aircraft structure have been incorporated to allow the installation of a fixed detachable probe for in-flight refuelling which can be connected and disconnected in less than half an hour.

NEW EA-150

Design

The EA-150 is a development of the popular and capable EA-148 advanced trainer, and is a private venture by Elias Aerospace. The EA-150 role is as a low cost but effective multirole combat aircraft to replace the MiG-21/F-7 Fishbed and Northrop F-5 series in service with many developing countries. It uses a slighyl lenegthened version of the EA-148s fuselage and a marginally more powerful powerplant offering more responsiive control input and performance.
