The backbone of the offensive military capability of the Free Republic of Ilek-Vaad is the standing army known as the Retaliatory Guard. Founded in 1269 AD by Supreme Republican Commander Namroth Vedic the Retaliatory Guard have grown from the one original 'Purifiers' army to the 24 modern standing armies today, comprising three million eight hundred and forty thousand battle ready soldiers, one hundred five thousand six hundred armour and two hundred and eighty eight thousand LAV's.
Each army is comprised of 160,000 combat ready Guardsmen. These armies are further divided into divisions of 20,000 each and then into battalions of 2,000 each. Each army has 2 armoured divisions of 1,000 Thunderer II battletanks, 1,000 Te Bako Main Battle Tanks and 200 Chieftan Command Tanks, the whole armoured division uses it's 20,000 men in an even split of 10,000 tank crew and 10,000 logistical support. Each of the non-armoured divisions also has 2,000 Scorpion LAV's and up to 2,000 support aircraft, though this number is normally less, as the Air-Guard increasingly provide more and more air support.
Each active member of the Retaliatory Guard has received 3 years of combat training before being assigned to duty with one of the 24 armies.
The basic Guardsman is equipped as follows. 1 Athenian style ceramite helmets (with cheek pieces and neck guards.) 1 Kevlar bullet proof vest, 1 Kev-lite bulletproof longcoat 1 FN-SCAR (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10416999#post10416999) heavy assault rifle with tactical computer and under the barrel 40mm grenade launcher, 5 boxes (150 rounds each) of 7.62mmx51 steel core caseless ammunition, mess kit, first aid kit, spade, bed roll and 1 week field rations.
The Helmet and Kev-lite coat also are enabled with 'Active' camoflage. This allows the Guardsmen to use his tactical computer to select colors and patterns appropriate to the current terrain , the pixelated skin on the helmet and built into the coat then display the camo program picked. If the pixels are damaged they turn a dull dark grey.
Thunderer II Main Battle Tank
The next most important piece of equipment is the ThundererII main battle tank. This revolutionary tank combines the normal tank equipment and versatility and adds several important charecteristics, mainly a very potent AA feature. It's base statistics are:

The ThundererII is also armed with a retractable 'cherry picker' arm that carries 4 Comet/M3 AA missles. The comet AA missle was developed by Narvik Adavanced Ordinance to combat mach 3 fighter planes. The Comet/M3 is capable (theoretically) of speeds up to mach 3, it is also launched from it's turret by compressed air , giving it longer range and longer flight time. The Comet/M3 is guided by laser, satellite and Image recognition with thermal imaging, few planes can shake it once it has locked on.
The Thunderer II also has a revolutionary chasis. When stationary and set the Thunderer II can lower it's rear chasis onto the ground, securing it and giving it the elevation of an average artillery piece. With it's 172mm gun and and this additional elevation the Thunderer II becomes a very potent piece of mobile artillery.
The Scorpion LAV
The transport of choice in the Retaliatory Guard is the Scorpion LAV. This LAV has a crew of 2 and can carry 8 Guardsmen in relative comfort (most Guardsmen would dispute the comfort part.) it is also armed with a 30mm chaingun that fires depleted uranium rounds, giving it a rather nasty and enviromentally unfriendly punch. The turret on the Scorpion is not actually manned, but is remotely controlled via a joystick and video screen in the passenger's position, it can also be controlled by the driver or a rear occupant in an emergency. It also has the active camoflage skin.

4 of the 24 Retaliatory Guard armies are made up of the elite, heavy armies. These are the Jaguar and Panther armies. The organization and vehicular equipment are identical to those used by other Retaliatory Guard Armies, the difference is in basic equipment and requirements.
Normally a Retaliatory Guard recruit will undergo 3 years of training and be assigned to the first available open post in any of the 20 Retaliatory Guard Armies. The exceptions being the Panthers, Leopards, Tigers and the Jaguars, Both the Panthers and the Jaguars can select the best new recruits and invite them to try out for the elite armies at the end of their three years of training. Hopeful recruits that can pass the tortuous physical and mental tests (48% pass on average) are admitted to the Jaguar or Panther ranks and give an additional year of training.
The Jaguar and Panther Guardsmen are armed and equipped as follows:
1 Spartan cermite helmet (with front and back neck guards, cheek pieces and nosepiece.) 1 suit of banded ceramite body armour including bracers, gauntlets (with sharpened claws on the fingertips) and greaves, 1 pair steel shank heavy combat boots, 1 Kev-lite Active Matrix (tm) longcoat, 1 FN-HAR .30-06 Heavy Assault Rifle , 1 FN-50s .50 sidearm. 6 boxes of .30-06 'Black' steel core depleted uranium rounds (200 per box) 1 macana or machete or tomahawk, 1 bottle of Ixpei
The body armour of the Jaguars and panthers can easily shrug off all but the heaviest armour piercing rounds. Snipers have regularly reported that a Barret Light 50 round will knock a Jaguar down, but not kill. The Active Matrix (tm) longcoat is similiar to the regular active coats of other Retaliatory Guards, except that the pixelated skin is 're-active'. Light sensors in strategic areas of the coat sample surrounding light, colours and shadows and automatically adjusts the camoflage scheme to match. The armour of the Jaguars and Panthers also has built in Peltier cooling blocks that keep the ceramite armour at a constant 70 degrees farenheit in hot conditions.
The FN-HAR that the Panthers and Jaguars carry is an advanced weapons system. It weighs 25 lbs and has an integrated tactical computer with night vision, thermal imaging, 400x scope, GPS, communications, laser range finder, invisible laser targetting and satellite link. The FN-HAR also has an integrated under the barrel 30mm grenade launcher. The FN-HAR is extremely large and hard to use, the extra year of training that Jaguar and Panther recruits receive is solely geared to training them on the monstrous rifle.
In single shot mode the FN-HAR has an effective range of a mile+ and with it's advanced computer is an excellent sniper rifle, on full auto it can chew through APC's, infantry, light tanks, walls etc... The loud report of the FN-HAR (a loud 'CHOK!' ) is absolutely terrifying and deafening when 100 or more let loose.
The main weapon of the Jaguar and Panther is the 'Ixpei'. Ixpei is an herbal drug that was ritually drunk by Tolteca Jaguar Warriors before battle, it is still made in Tollan and still used by the Jaguar and Panthers. Ixpei in high levels is a deadly neuro-toxin and an immunity must be built up over several months for it to be effective and not just make the imbiber sick. The sticky, thick red Ixpei stains the teeh, lips and tongue of the Jaguar and Panthers making them look as though they have just freshly drunk a bucket of blood at all times. The Ixpei is a powerful mixture of narcotics, stimulants and coagulants. After taking a full dose a fully immune and trained Jaguar or Panther will remain awake for 5+ days and be filled with seemingly unlimited energy, they will be as strong and as fast a hopped up PCP user with a meth nightcap. Taking Ixpei too long (2 or 3 dose consecutively) will cause heart attack, stroke and insanity.After particularly hard fought combat many Jaguar and Panthers simply drop dead after the Ixpei wears off, while on the Ixpei they feel no pain and are often riddled with bullets or suffering other major wounds that they simply never felt.
Despite their heavy armour and loud weaponry the Panthers and Jaguar also have mastered stealth. Their armour is coated with a carbon fiber sound dampening mesh and they will often sneak as close to the enemy as possible, killing pickets and guards silently with their macana, or bare hands , and only using their FN-HAR'S on the camp they have snuck up on, creating a fish in the barrel shoot.
Internationally the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Amnesty International and other groups often protest and decry the tactics of the Jaguar and Panthers. By Vaadian law they are exempted from being charged with war crimes and neither the Panther or the Jaguars will ever take prisoners, they kill any and all armed or apparently armed enemy soldiers, civilians, reporters or aid workers they come across and they will mutilate (and some say eat) their corpses. Only completely unarmed persons will be left alive, the Jaguar and Panthers simply ignore such people and move quickly and silently by them.
To date no army or country that has suffered an inavsion headed by these fearsome armies has lasted for more than a week. Negotiated settlements come hard on the heels of a Jaguar or Panther deployment.
The Red Jaguar Command
In the Retaliatory Guard there are 24 Command Battalions for the 24 armies. Each Red Jaguar Command Army is comprised of 2,000 Red Jaguar Commandos and 200 Chok-Mool Super Heavy Battletanks. The Red Jaguar are the best of the Panther and Jaguar armies, each of them with no less that 6-9 years of combat training and Jaguar training.
Red Jaguar are armed exactly like the Panthers and Jaguars* and are even more highly trained and 100x more savage. Their Command Generals are masters of battlefield tactics and psychological warfare, they terrify the enemy as badly as they out maneuver them.
Aside from the regular Jaguar equipment they use the Chok-Mool a super heavy tank/transport.

The giant Chok-Mool with it's massive howitzer (range has been reported at 75-100miles) is deployed in back of regular formations and is used to safely transport the Red Jaguar to within marching distance of their targets. With their Comet/M3 launchers the Chok-Mool serve duty as an AA battery, with it's howitzer as a mobile gun, with it's capacity as a transport, with it's chain cannons an anti-infantry vehicle. It is a mobile bunker and it can ruin enemy roads, rails, bunkers and houses by simply driving over them. The only area it is not suited for is tank to tank battles, while it's masive howitzer can easily reduce an enemy tank to a wreck, it's slow rate of fire and it's ponderous movement means that other tanks always have the drop on it.

The recently re-vamped and greatly modernized Naval Guard cannot be compared to any other standing navy today. The Free Republic over the last 10 years has moved to modernize the Naval Guard and replace each and every ship. This program began with replacing the Tlaloc Class Battleships with the Revenge Class and then moved to replacing the Tula Class Carriers with the greatly improved Tollan Class, and finally the Naval Guard scrapped each and every Frigate, Cruiser and destroyer and replaced them with the incomparable Jaguar Arsenal Cruiser. Every ship in the Naval Guard has sophisticated satellite guided firing systems that use the Retaliatory Guard's RASTER satellites. The Thermographic component of the RASTER system has been refined by the Naval Guard to pick out the hot water discharge of nuclear submarines, meaning that the Naval Guard can find and track even the quietest submarine. In addition the SonicSweep tight band sonar systems are better at picking out submarines designed to evade conventional sonar.

Costa-Tula Shipyards developed the Revenge in response to the Ministry of Defence's request for a 'definitive' aggressive/defensive naval vessel. It was designed about 10 years ago with an eye towards eliminating carriers, destroyers and cruisers. The isolationist bent of the governments at the time meant that the ship need only be capable of defensive attacks and/or quick devastating strikes at range. It was intended to be the only naval vessel in service.

The Monstrous Revenge was originally designed to also house up to 10 squadrons of Orion VTOL fighters. The Multi-Purpose decks of the Revenge Battleships have again been retro fitted. With the entire Naval Guard now using fusion power, the Revenge no longer needs to carry fuel for support ships. The diesel tanks have been replaced with Multi-Purpose decking while the upper Multi-Purpose decks have once again been converted to a flight deck for the Avery Frost Artemis (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8711190&postcount=36) fighters. The upper decks can hold four naval squadrons of five Artemis jets, giving the Revenge a carrying capacity of twenty Artemis jets.

The Tollan stands apart from other carriers in that it has no flight deck. The Tollan's slanted sides make it look like a floating byzantine foretress. The Orion Stealth Fighter, being a VTOL craft launches out of trap door like bays from the top of the carrier, there are 5 trap doors along the top giving the Tollan the unique ability to launch 5 fighters at a time , instead of just one or two.
Not having a flight deck means more room for weapons, and in this case, state of the art SPEAR RAM missle batteries and the 50mm Goalkeeper CIWS weapons systems. A pair of 6" naval gun batteries give it suprising front and rear fire power and a mildly respectful broadside, especially against smaller corvettes, and gun ships.
The Tollan Class Carriers has a crew of 325 with 125 Naval Marines and 210 Naval Marine pilots.

The Jaguar is a double hulled cruiser, capable of hydroplaning at high speeds or cruising with a low profile. When cruising the Jaguar appears to be only a hump. It's slanted deck has dozens of 'portals' that can slide open to deploy it's weapon systems all of which are entirely missle based.
It's main weapon is the CIWS (close in weapon system) SPEAR Rolling Airframe Missle system. The SPEAR is capable of firing missles rapidly enough to down cruise missles and anti ship missles. If engaged close up, the SPEAR can be used as a missle firing 'gatling gun' to attack other naval vessels. It's Sonic Sweep combined with it's Icarus torpedo launchers makes the Jaguar nearly immune to submarine attack.
With a crew of only 78 persons, the ship is mostly automated and can even be contolled entirely by remote control from a Revenge Battleship fire control or Tollan fire control in Tollan.
The Jaguar was designed by Costa-Tula Shipyards LTD and was Manufactured at the SHNS LTD facility in South Haven, Ilek-Vaad.
The Son House Corvette
Designed and built in Lunatic Retard Robots by Lunkwill&Fook Industries, the Son House is a multi-role Corvette. It has been purchased to fill the role of coastal patrol boat and is currently being integrated into the Coastal Guard.
The Coastal Guard are using the Variant A, to which the Ministry of Defence has added a Comet/M3 AA battery and 4 Harpoon ASM's.

With the introduction of the Tormentor Class battle cruiser (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10732807&postcount=60) Naval Guard Command made the decision to create a new organization for the battle cruisers. With no other ship in the Naval Guard able to keep up with the Tormentor and it's ability to provide it's own support it was decided that the Tormentor battle cruisers would be organizer into 5 ship 'squadrons' that are fully independent and able to use their speed and maneuverability to maximum effectiveness.

Lol. A gun can be either rifled or smoothbore. I would suggest smoothbore and a smaller gun. A larger shell offers little advantage as over a certain caliber the largest muzzel velocity you can expect to get with a weapon that can be practically mounted on a tank drops considerably. I would suggest 155mm max, probably better off with a 135mm - 140mm 60cal chambered for a 155mm.

It was supposed to say 'smoothbore gun' (as it does now.) thank you for pointing that out.
Muzzle velocity also depends on the amount and type of propellant used. The 180mm round used by the Retaliatory Guard uses a very high-grade chemical propellant that produces more than sufficent muzzle velocity.
As for mounting a 180mm gun, that depend entirely on the size of the tank, the sturdiness of it's chassis etc....... The Thunderer II is an extremely robust tank.

The Naval Guard did not have any need to re-vamp the submarines that were already in it's stables. In the late 80's and early 90's two new classes had already been developed that far exceeded any other submersibles in service at the time.
CT-Trident SAS
The Primary submarine is the CT-Trident SAS (Steath Attack Submarine, SSN by other naval standards.). The Trident is a fusion powered submarine that is one of the quietest and hardest to detect submarines on the planet. CT-WolfHound EES
The second submarines in use is the CT-WolfHound EES (Enemy Evasion Submarine). The Wolfhound is a stingray shaped submersible with torpedo tubes that can be elevated to point nearly directly upwards. It interior construction is based on deep-sea exploration vehicles and utilizes a bubble design to survive submerging nearly twice as deep as any other military submarine. It uses the same rubberised skin of the Trident and uses satellite guidance to actively evade enemy ships and their sonar 'zones'. The WolfHound is used to slip into enemy harbours or to be deployed ahead of enemy naval ships. The WolfHound can then settle on the sea floor and become invisiblem, even when sonar does hit it directly, it appears to be part of the sea floor. Once hidden it simply waits to fire it's torpedos up at enemy ships moving over it.

The Air Guard have evolved from an Air National Guard Force, to a conventional military airforce. Previously the Naval Guard supplied it's own aircraft as did each of the Retaliatory Guard armies, but the newly expanded Air Guard is slowly absorbing all of these functions. This has been made possible by the Avery Frost Orion Tactical Fighter System.
The Avery Frost Orion
Last year Avery Frost Aeronautics unveiled it's Orion Tactical Fighter. The Orion met all of the Air Guard's specifications being both a mach speed fighter, VTOL and stealth in design. Avery Frost further enhanced the fighter by adding a 'modular' weapons system. The revolutionary modular system allows the Orion to be configured in several ways. The Base configuration is as a fighter, it's internal weapon bays hold 18 Comet/M3 missles, the Orion does not have a cannon.
The internal weapon bays can be removed and swapped. To make it a long range interceptor fuel tanks replace the weapons bays and the missles are mounted under the wing. To make it a ground support fighter the weapon bays are replaced with 2 30mm Vulcan Cannons and air to surface missles are mounted under the wings. To make it a pocket bomber the bays are loaded with 12 2000lb HE 'Thunder-Head' bunker busters and finally to configure it as an anti-ship fighter it is equipped with 10 'Icarus' anti-ship torpedos. Each convesion takes a trained crew around 20-30 minutes to complete.
This versatility make the Orion very dangerous. Most of the configurations do not change the outward appearance of the Orion and enemy pilots have trouble targetting 'bombers' and avoiding 'fighters' simply because of the Orions ability to mix and match. Tactics meant to confuse are also used by the Air Guard, ground attack Orions will often have fighters mixed in with them, but all will fly along the same low altitude ground attack route to draw enemy fighters in, the enemy only realize too late that they are attacking fighters. This tactic has led to total air superiority in the last conflict the Retaliatory Guard entered in.

The Death's Head Sub-Orbital Bomber
The most used and the most feared weapon of the Air Guard is the Death's Head Sub-Orbital bomber. This bomber is designed along the lines of the b-2 Spirit bomber. Designed with stealth in mind, the Death's Head really only differs in it's increased size, smaller payload and greater service ceiling. The Death's Head can reach mach speeds, up to mach 6 reportedly and has a service ceiling of 125,000 ft. The Death's Heads speed and and high ceiling make it untouchable by conventional anti-aircraft defence measures. The draw back is that because of it's larger, more powerful engines it can only carry a payload of 4 Apollo cruise missles, but by using satellite guided precision targetting it's strikes are pinpoint and deadly.

The Sword of Damocles
The Sword was unveiled last month. It is the first Avery Frost aircraft to use the Pegasus Anti-Gravity engine and was designed and designated as an Orbital Assault Vehicle (OAV). Unlike the Death's Head the Sword is capable of true space flight. It has a large payload simply because with the anti-gravity generator activated, it is weightless. Tests have shown that it can cruise at mach 6 and it has been used to sucessfully test the NAO 'Perun's Hammer' Neutron (Neutrino) Cruise Missle. Statistics for the Sword are still top secret. It is unknown if the Sword has flown any combat missions. There are rumours that NAO has developed a particle accelerator cannon that will allow the Sword to attack enemy satellites.

B-7E 'Vampire'
The Air Guard recently purchased 30 B-7E 'Vampire' Strategic Bombers built by Transdynamics Consortium in the Autonomous City States. This bomber fits the Air Guard's needs for a large tactical bomber capable of carrying large payloads. The Vampire are curently standardly armed with 28 Apollo Cruise missles , various different warheads are used depending on the mission objective.

The Air Guard also recently purchased two hundred Arkbird SuperHeavy Bombers. These massive jets are desogned to pound distance enemies without even having to deploy the Retaliatory Guard. The Air Guard's compliment of bombers gives it a worldwide strike range and the ability to do massive amounts of damage with even a single attack.

The Retaliatory Guard have had hundreds of years of continous existance to study, refine and hone military tactics. Battlefield commanders in Ilek-Vaad fight quite differently than any other nation on earth, and planning is also very unorthodox. The planning and execution of tactical plans and designs reflects the Retaliatory Guards reliance on extensive training, high-tech equipment and speed.
With the Usual Guardsman having received 3 years of training prior to them even being assigned, gives them a huge edge on the battlefield. Compared to 6 months to a year of basic training that most militaries give their soldiers, the Retaliatory Guard are a veritable officers corp. Each Guardsman is educated and confident enough to make decisions on his own if cut off from command and their extensive training means that most actions do not even need a command, all Guardsmen know what to do in a cetain situation and just do it, unless ordered not to.
The Retaliatory Guard also takes great pride in informing it's troops. Not only are the Retaliatory Guard issued commands but these commands are also issued with a synopsis as to why they are carrying out certain actions. While most armies simply train their soldiers to act and give their lives without question, the Retaliatory Guard are proud to give their men purpose and not just abstract command. This helps morale, discipline and cohesion. Every Guardsman knows what his duty is and why he must do it.
The Retaliatory Guard are very mobile and rely on this in combat. The Retaliatory Guard never charges, never uses mass formations and never attacks head on. Flanking maneuvers and circling maneuvers are the order of the day and are often carried out hundreds of miles away from what most generals would consider the 'front line'. In Vaadian thinking there is no 'front line' or combat 'lines' of any type, troop movement and combat are constantly flowing and evolving.
The 'Range' Command
The oddest thing the Retaliatory Guard do is issue the 'Range' Command. In training the Retaliatory Guard are instructed to never come within 500 yards of the enemy. When the enemy has reached within 500 yards of the Retaliatory Guard the first Guradsman to notice (via the range finder on his tactical computer) will open his comm and simply say 'Range!' and the entire formation will begin to give ground and move. This tactic makes it seem that the average front line soldiers are in control, as the "Range' command is never overridden and with one man simply giving the order, the entire battalion, division or army begins moving as one to move out of range of the enemy and move to circle or flank. Given that every Retaliatory Guardsman knows this and does exactly what is needed without additional commands from the top , enemy generals are often perplexed by the spontaneous movement of the Retaliatory Guard without the accompanying chatter, or indications of orders being sent and received.
Tuning the Guard
With the exceptional training, mobility and responsiveness of the Retaliatory Guard the Generals and Command Generals seek only to 'Tune' the tactics on the battlefield. Most Military planning concerns where Guard units are to be placed and where they will move when the 'Range' command is given. Often the movements of the deployed armies are well choreographed, every unit is briefed on where they will move at certain times depending on where the enemy is before even reaching the battlefield. The Command Generals often have weeks worth of troop movents planned and mapped out and can simply deploy or redeploy in accordance with those movements with a single command.
What seems like nebulous and endless retreats and circling movements to enemy forces are actually well planned detailed movements that often end after several days of fighting with the Retaliatory Guard having exhausted their enemy and striking them from all sides at will. These tactics also account for the Retaliatory Guards shortage of artillery. To keep movements quick and spontaneous, air and armour fill the roles of artillery giving a quick punch that retreat as fast or faster than the Guardsmen. Armour is also key in giving ground. Retaliatory Guard retreats are linked to armour advances, this gives a nasty suprise to enemy troops that pursue retreating Retalitory Guard , within seconds they go from pursuing a scattered nebulous enemy to coming under heavy fire from tanks and air support, often catching the enemy out in the open with lines strung out as they have attempted to catch the Guard before they can retreat.
Territory
The Retaliatory Guard are trained to ignore terrain and territory. Giving ground is the basis of their strategy and they will never pause to 'take a hill' or to secure a geographic point or area. Hard fortified targets are ignored by the Retaliatory Guard and are exclusively targetted by sub-orbital bombers and missles. Setting up hard points to counter a Retaliatory Guard advance is simply senseless as the Guard will simply move swiftly past or around them and let the heavy bombers take care of it, they will simply not give up the lives needed to siege any hard point. This keeps Retaliatory Guard casualties exceptionally low. Natural impediments or unpassable terrain simply cause the Guard to go around, they never waste time in clearing roads, or laying bridges or dynamiting passes open, they know (as pointed out correctly by Sun-Tzu) that natural obstacles apply to the enemy just as they do to themselves. They don't fight terrain or obstacles, they simply flow over and around them.
These layout the basic tactics and thinking behind them. Each Command General uses these standards with minor or major variations. The nebulous strategy and concept of war gives Retaliaory Guard Generals amazing leeway in planning and adjusting to battlefield conditions.

Our evaluation team has made its report and after careful consideration, we have decided to outfit the 5th Legion exclusively with Ilek-Vaadian hardware. The general staff is unanimous in their opinion that the Retaliatory Guard's fighting doctrine, tactics, and weapons are the closest to the ideal that we have for the 5th Legion. We are now in discussion with our financial managers to determine how we can complete this upgrade soonest, preferably within 2-5 years.
The 5th Legion is our permanently-designated expeditionary force of 500,000 men designed to be deployed in conjunction with UNAPS-sanctioned or any allied deployments. This is an almost token force considering the sheer size of the standing armies of most nations in the world. As such, this Legion is not intended for any unilateral overseas deployment. We therefore propose annual exercises that would simulate joint, theater-wide operations. At the Phyrric Civil War, our forces were deployed in the same theater but joint operations were few and though effective, did not meet our respective examinations. Given that joint and/or allied deployments in the future are inevitable and that we would be using the same weapon systems, we hope that you receive this proposal favorably.

In the Retaliatory Guard there are three Special Equipment Armies. These are armies that are equipped differently than the other Retaliatory Guard armies to give them the ability to perform a specialized function in addition to their standard operational roles. These armies are the Purifiers, the Levelers and the Fists of Vaad.
The Purifiers
The Purifiers are specialists in Urban Control Combat. With the Retaliatory Guard philosophy, sieges never happen and cities are often left in a bombed out condition in the wake of a Retaliatory Guard attack. Cities are dealt with by bombers and cruise missles to take out everything that gives aid or comfort to the enemy. Water, power, bridges, sewer, sanitation, radio, television and telecommunications are all destroyed by the Air Guard, with the Retaliatory Guard simply moving past the city, ignoring it. That is until the Purifiers arrive.
The Purifiers are made up almost entirely of engineers, medics and crowd control specialists. They are armed identical to other Guard armies except that their grenade launchers are replaced by an under the barrel 'Sonic Scream' weapon. This ultra high frequency sonic weapon causes nausea, vertigo and unconsciousness in a 200 yard 90degree cone from the device, those outside of or behind the cone only hear a sharp clicking. This device disables nicely without injury.
The Purifiers main task is to secure and restore service to civilian populations and to take care of wounded civilians. They do this methodically. block by block, leaving in their wake repaired buildings, and well supplied civilians, they also repair essential services as they come upon them and generally pacify civilain populations with advanced riot control techniques and a no compromise, shoot to kill armed insurgents policy. Within days the Purifiers are able to revive and disarm a city with low casualties on both sides.
The only additional component the Purifiers use are their 4,000 Apache Helicopters. They are outfitted especailly for urban assault and support.
The Levelers
The Leveler Demolition Army has one task, destroy enemy buildings, roads, rail, bunkers etc! The Levelers are equipped with three armoured divisions to accomplish this. One division of Thunderer II Battletanks and one divison of Manticore Demolition Tanks and one division of Thunder Mobile Gun. The Manticore is equipped with a heavy 6in thick cermite spade and a special 'demolition gun'

The Levelers are often deployed to encircle cities where the Purifiers are operating.

The Panthers, Jaguars and Red Jaguars
Previously it was intimated that the Jaguar and Panther Armies and the Red Jaguar Command Battalions are in fact immune to prosecution for war crimes and comission of war-time atrocities. It is an established fact in Ilek-Vaad that ALL war is an atrocity. It is further reasoned that at times Retaliatory Guard leaders may be forced to choose between safe gaurding the Republic, or acting to prevent atrocities. In Vaadian legal doctrine Retaliatory Guard leaders MUST ALWAYS choose to safeguard the Free Republic. If this means firing on civilians, cutting power lines, bombing hospitals or any other form of atrocious act , then they must act to preserve and protect the Republic.
To this capacity the Jaguar, Panther and Red Jaguar are exempted and legally allowed to act in any manner that preserves and protects the Free Republic. These laws are in fact an extension of Tolteca Imperial law, as decreed by the old Tolteca God-Emperors.
In ancient times, the Tolteca Empire was ruled by the God-Emperors with an iron fist. Every activity was codified and controlled by the Emperor and his Tlatloni, including death. The Emperors warriors were always held to the highest strictest codes. They must be honourable on the battlefield, they must never attack unarmed opponents, they must always try to capture before killing, they must always accept an enemies surrender. There was one exception.
The Emperor's Jaguar Warriors were allowed to do ANYTHING to carry out the Emperors orders, regardless of legality or conduct. The God-Emperors even codified this and resolved a legal reasoning for this.
Jaguars, Panthers and Red Jaguar all under go an initiation ceremony that is actually a Tolteca funerary rite. Their souls are consigned to the under-world and they become socially dead. In Tolteca law this was important. The liminal dead were subject only to the God-Emperors will. The dead cannot be charged with a crime. The dead , and importnatly his family,cannot be the target of a blood feud. In essence this social-death that they undergo gives them the power to commit whatever acts are necessary to preserve the God-Emperor's rule, or in modern times to preserve the Republic.
This law still applies in the Free Republic today. Jaguars , Panthers and Red Jaguar are legally dead after their final initiation ceremonies, their families receive their pension and they are recorded as 'deceased' by civil authorities.
Many foreign powers have leveled charges of atrocities at the Red Jaguar, but the Vaadian Judiciary has no legal basis to act. Quite simply the dead cannot be made to stand trial. This confers the level of protection that the elite armies need conquer any circumstance to preserve the Republic. The enemy using civilains as body shields or hiding in hospitals or day care centers offer no problem to the Retaliatory Guard's elite units, they simply kill them all, after all they are not responsible and cannot possibly be held accountable.
These harsh measure have insured that the enemies of the Free Republic have very little leverage in forcing the Retaliatory Guard to back down, the elite units can do WHATEVER it takes to defeat the the Free Republics enemies.

THe small size of the Naval Guard Marines gives them an oppurtunity for better and more exclusive training. A high percentage of Naval Guard Marines are medics, engineers and technicians, all are highly trained and very skilled. The fact that the Naval Guard Marines do not serve garrison duty frees them from most tasks that the other Retaliatory Guard Armies are involved in and allows them a greater intensity of traing and specialization.
This has also allowed them to fill a gap left in most Guard Armies. The FN-Minimi and FN-HAR used by other Guard Armies are serviceable sniper rifles, especially when combined with their tactical computers, however the Retaliatory Guard are given only cursory sniper training that mainly deals with marksmanship. The Marine Snipers on the other hand are not only brilliant marksmen, but are also trained in stealth and infiltration.
Naval Guard Marines wear only light bullet-proof jackets, but they have the same active camoflage coats of the Jaguar Guard Army. In addition they do not carry any assault rifle. They are instead armed with the 15.2mm Steyr IWS 2000. The 15.2mm APDS Round can punch through tank and armoured personnel carriers as well as kill a human with a hit just about any where on the body. It's effective range when coupled with the Retaliatory Guard Tactical Computer System is over a mile, depending of course on visibility and terrain.
The Naval Guard Marine Snipers are experts at camoflage and infiltration in literally any enviroment. They are able to travel with an amazing amount of equipment, considering they travel on the massive Revenge Class Battleships and can pick and choose gear when they arrive at the destination.
For closer combat the Snipers also carry an FN-P90 as a side arm. The Naval Guard Marine Snipers are very able and equipped perfectly for their duties.

The recently established Foreign Guard are the newest arm of the Retaliatory Guard. Formed to be specifically made up of and hosted by foreign nations the Foreign Guard are expected to become the first responders in international incidents. The Republican Council has mandated that five Foreign Guard Armies are to be founded, equipped and trained.
The Retaliatory Guard Command have further allowed each General to equip his troops as they see fit. While training will be to the Retaliatory Guard's normal high dgree, the equipment will be lacking several things.
First, the Foreign Guard will not have state of the art tactical computers like the Retaliatory Guard.
Second, the Foreign Guard are to be equipped locally.
Third , they will not benefit from being able to directly access the Retaliatory Guard's network of satellites and communications. In the interests of not giving away vital technology to foreigners, the Foreign Guard will have to cope with whatever technology is available in the host nations.

The 3rd Foreign Guard Army is based in the Irate Dictatorship of Kordo and is called the Kordo Guard. The Kordo Guard army consists of a Regular Reatliatory Guard Army of eighty thousand divide into four divisions. The 4th Division is an all armour division.

The 1st through 3rd Divisions maintain four thousand Retaliatory Guard 'Scorpion' light support transports and are armed identically as the regulr Retaliatory Guard with the exception that they use the FN-FNC assault rifle instead of the FN-Minimi. The 1st Division also maintains an additional two hundred Puma MBT's.
The Kordo Guard also host three wings of Orion Air Guard Fighters and have access to port facilities through which they host a rotating Tactical Group of the Naval Guard.

Retaliatory Guard Transports
The Retaliatory Guard normally deploys well beyond the borders of the Free Republic. The Retaliatory Guard's Naval Guard and Air Guard maintain sizeable fleets of transports. The main transports are Naval, the Naval Guard having large numbers of Tactical Groups have ample escorts for their large number of transports.
NG Atlas
The largest transport in the Naval Guard is the giant Atlas. It is designed to transport five battalions of Retaliatory Guard and their equipment. A fleet of eight Atlas transports can carry an entire Retaliatory Guard army.

The main line transport is the Hercules. It is capable of transporting up to 1,000 troops and equipment at an average speed of 22kts.

The Thunderer II Battletank has previously been touched upon in the opening texts about the equipment of the Retaliatory Guard. This topic deals mainly with the revolutionary 'Hurricane' tactical weapons system used by the Thunderer II main battle tank.
The Thunderer II with it's superior armour, range and penetration falls short in only one category against other tanks. It's slow speed makes it hard for the Thunderer to close quickly in tank to tank combat so a system was needed to make up for this deficiency. This led Avery Frost Aeronautics to modify it's tactical fighter system for the Thunderer II
The Hurricane system basically links the Thunderer II to spy satellites, recon aircraft and Tollan Fire Control, giving the tank commander the ability to survey the entire battle field and not just what he can see from the tank. The Hurricane system allows a tank commander to use the advanced satellite guidance to 'highlight' targets miles away, the Hurricane system can track up to ten targets at a time and alert the gunner instantly when effective range has been met with any of the ten targets.
With this ability to target enemy armour and positions before the gunner and tank commander can even see them gives the Thunderer II an efective anti-tank range of over five miles (the effective range that a SABOT or HESH round can destroy or disable a tank) and gives it the range of a mobile gun in support of infantry.
Enemy tanks are 'highlighted' and locked in as a target miles before visual confirmation can be made and miles before other tanks can effectively target the Thunderer II. With the Thunderer II being able to fire up to eight rounds a minute most enemy tanks and vehicles are smashed before they are able to even effectively target the Thunderer II.
To improve it's ability as an infantry support weapon, the chassis and suspension of the Thunderer II has been modified. The Thunderer II can drop it's fore and rear chassis by up thirty degrees, giving it's main gun an elevation of up to sixty degrees, nearly as good as field gun. in this role the Thunderer II can lob HE anti infantry shells nearly one hundred and twenty five miles and can target bunkers and hard points at a safe distance to allow the Retaliatory Guard to pass by them unharmed.
By simply applying the fighter aircraft ability of being able to lock onto and track targets to the Thunderer II the effectiveness has been boosted by nearly 200% and given Thunderer II tank crews an edge on the modern battlefield.

The Scorpion Army
The Scorpion army has recently been formed by the Retaliatory Guard Command to add an army with both quick strike capabilities and specifically anti-tank capabilities.
All four divisions in the Scorpion Army are armour. The Scorpion Army deploys four divisions of four different type of armour.
First Scorpion Dvision
The First Scorpion Division is compromised of two thousand Tlaloc Arms Lightning rapid support tanks. This small , extremely fast and nimble tank has the ability to quickly move in a counter striking fashion and provide rapid deployment along Retaliatory Guard lines to increase the overall speed and fluidity of deployments and movements.

Third Scorpion Division
The Third Division is made up of two thousand Thunder Mobile Artillery Support vehicles. The Thunder is a mobile gun that because of it's longer gun and abilities to elevate it's gun eighty degrees gives it a true artillery capability that the Thunderer II comes close to supplying. It's great speed also gives it great flexibility in deployment and it's auto loader system gives the ability to fire rapidly to suppress infantry and clear even relatively hard targets.

The Bendith Reavers
For the first time in history the Bendith of the Tendarus Mountains in North-Eastern Ilek-Vaad have joined the Retaliatory Guard. Led by the powerful Drune Lord Sulla, The Drune, the Bendith have decided to help champion the causes of the Free Republic. The stoic nature of the Bendith and their black and white outlook of what is right and wrong fits in very well with contemporary Vaadian society.
Convinced of the rising tides of hostility, the likelyhood of war and the antagonist nature of the Free Republics imperial and non-democratic allies Sulla The Drune approached the Supreme Republican Commander and was allowed to form the Bendith Reavers Battalion. The Bendith Reavers are two thousand Bendith volunteers, they supply their own funds, but still operate within the command structure of the Retaliatory Guard
The Bendith Reavers are armed exactly like the Red Jaguar Command battalions, although the Bendith do not take the drug Ixpei, nor do they need to. The Only equipment addition is the Bendith broadsword, a short stout sword designed for underground combat, it is a perfect hand weapon for close quarters.
The Bendith themselves are a Moriquendi race that only dies if killed and are immune to disease and do not suffer readily from heat or cold or fatigue. Their increased strength, speed and stamina make them fearsome soldiers, their discipline is unmatched, even by the well trained Retaliatory Guardsmen.
The Bendith Reavers are armed and equipped as follows:

The body armour is the same as the Jaguars and panthers and can easily shrug off all but the heaviest armour piercing rounds. Snipers have regularly reported that a Barret Light 50 round will knock a Jaguar down, but not kill. The Active Matrix (tm) longcoat is similiar to the regular active coats of other Retaliatory Guards, except that the pixelated skin is 're-active'. Light sensors in strategic areas of the coat sample surrounding light, colours and shadows and automatically adjusts the camoflage scheme to match. The armour of the Jaguars and Panthers also has built in Peltier cooling blocks that keep the ceramite armour at a constant 70 degrees farenheit in hot conditions.

The latest weapon in the Air Guard arsenal is the Thunderhead Type III Airship. This ship combines all of the best technology from the Air Guard and the Naval Guard to build a fully anti-gravity capable warship. The advanced weapons systems of the Thunderhead dwarf even the destructive capacity of the Revenge Battleship. The range and speed of the Thunderhead gives it a global range.

CIWS ‘Thor’ System- the main belt of the ship is charged with ambient static electricity. Anti-Gravity Properties:
The Athena anti gravity engines each create an anti-gravity zone, or ‘bubble’ when they are powered up. This ‘bubble’ encompasses the whole ship and actually extends about fifty yards from the hull itself. This bubble renders anything in it weightless, the engines then provide propulsion with plasma flow inductors***.
The anti-gravity bubble also renders conventional weapons nearly useless , they tend to drift off target ( ‘skipping’ along the edge of the anti-gravity bubble) when entering the bubble and the Athena generators (like the Pegasus on the Sword of Damocles) baffles radar and radio signals, rendering the Thunderhead invisible to radar, the venting of the plasma used for propulsion also helps baffle detection .
These vessels are also fully capable of space flight and can theoretically reach the speed of light due to the antigravity engine properties.

*The ‘King Rus’ Particle Accelerator Cannon:
The King Rus was a break through in weapon design that could only come after true weightlessness could be achieved by the Athena Anti-Gravity Power Plants. The barrel of the King Rus is 22’ in length and has a bore of 5”. It has a composite barrel that fits together in three sections, with ribs that pass coolant up and down the length of each barrel segment. The main problem of a particle accelerator as a weapon is the considerable length needed to accelerate particles in a manner that would cause them to be lethal, but the King Rus solved this in two ways. First in the turret there is the powerful electron gun that strips electron from the Hydrogen molecules to provide the ammunition for the cannon. After having been stripped the electrons then spin continuously inside the primer chamber. In the condition of zero gravity the motion of the electrons increases tremendously within a matter of seconds, with no gravity to act on the moving particles, they literally stay in continuous motion and accelerate exponentially when even a small amount of energy moves them. Once the desired speed (90%—99.9% the speed of light) has been reached in the priming chamber, the wheel lock rotates and funnels the electrons out of the barrel and at the target. The result is a one inch diameter of ‘particles’ surrounded by a magnetic field traveling at almost the speed of light, producing a soundless flash at the muzzle. Of course the particles begin to slow once gravity is re asserted and effective range is right around fifteen hundred miles, after that the magnetic field around the particles weakens as the entire mass slows from the resistance of gravity. The spinning in the primer chamber and the focusing of the particles and compacting their magnetic field in the barrel compensates for the short distance to accelerate, and in fact achieves better yields than linear or even circular accelerators. The yield of the particles when they impact the target is roughly equivalent to twenty five thousand pounds of high explosives and can penetrate up to one hundred and twenty five feet of reinforced concrete, needless to say, a battery of three of these has quite a considerable impact.
**The Athena Anti-Gravity Power Plant:
The Athena was relatively simple to make, once the materials needed to build it could be produced in sufficient quantities to build the engine. In the laboratory the engineers of Avery-Frost Orion Aeronautics had succeeded is synthesizing a room temperature stable super-conductor. When an electrical charge was applied to the super-conduct , it took on magnetic anti-gravity properties , identical to a positive magnet repulsing a negative one. The next step involved building an electrical motor composed of this super-conductor in filaments wrapped around a magnet core just like any electrical motor. Once the rpms and balance and thickness of the coils was exhaustively tested, re-tested, calibrated and re-calibrated , the motor achieved the desired result. When electricity was applied to the motor, it would spin and create a true field of ant-gravity in proportion to it’s size.
The next step was to build the motor to several hundred times the test models size, and this was only accomplished when production of the super conductor could be accomplished on mass levels. The first Athena Type-a ‘motor’ produces startling results. The ‘motor’ produced an anti gravity ‘bubble’ of several hundred feet as expected , but had a side effect that was not counted on. The super-conductor coil, as it spun and created the anti-gravity field became nearly a perpetual motion machine. If not for the friction of the bearings on the ro, the ‘motor’ once started could theoretically spin forever, it was found that after starting the ‘motor’ the original power plant could be switched off and the Athena would spin and generate it’s own power as well as surplus electricity. In tests, the Athena spun for forty eight days before it started to show signs of friction and a net power loss.
Avery-Frost Aeronautics re-classified the Athena anti-gravity engine to the Athena Anti-Gravity Power Plant and put it into full production, allowing the rest of the Thunderhead project to come together.
The Athena can also be controlled. By changing the RPMs of the engine and either slowing it down or speeding it up, the ‘amount of antigravity can be adjusted, from fully weighted, to neutrally buoyant to weightless. When skimming the waters as a Naval vessel the Thunderhead is actually only skimming the surface at a neutrally buoyant setting, the water acting against the hull slows it as it does any other water borne craft.
***The Plasma Induction Propulsion:
Added to each of the Athena Power Plants is a plasma induction unit that gives the Thunderhead it’s means of movement and control. The surplus energy created by the Athena Power Plants is used to the same effect as the Fusion Power Plants but with an alternate result. The Avery Frost Fusion Power Plants that are widely used today have a liquid solvent core that is vibrated at exacting frequencies to cause microscopic gas bubbles in the solvent to agitate and squeeze the gas bubbles so quickly that fusion occurs. Uncontrolled this process temperatures in this process quickly reach millions of degrees in some of the hydrogen atoms that are fused and creates light, heat and plasma.
The Plasma inductors skip the heat and electrical generating fusion process and allow the reaction to reach it’s peak and begin steadily producing a flow of plasma. This high energy super hot flow when ducted provides literally hundreds of thousands of pounds of thrust, giving more than sufficient propulsion to the Thunderhead.
****Marine Performance:
The Thunderhead may also operate as a ‘conventional’ marine warship. With the anti-gravity power plants set to ‘neutral buoyancy’ the Thunderhead can ‘skim’ the surface of bodies of water. The lower ‘King Rus’ turrets may retract their guns and seal to prevent taking on of water, although they only have to do so on heavy seas. The Thunderhead is actually not resting on the surface of the water, but is hovering above the actual surface while the edge of the antigravity bubble contacts the water. Speed over water is much slower because of the greater pressure of the liquid medium. The anti-gravity bubble also allows the Thunderhead to submerge fully, but there are as on yet no propulsion units that will operate under water on the Thunderhead

Ceramite Composite Armour
In the late 1990's Narvik Advanced Ordinance turned it's considerable knowledge of creating weaponry that penetrates armor, into developing a new type of armor that was lighter and provided better protection than typical armor plating, or even Chobham armor plating systems.
The First developement was the Ceramite S-24 Compund. This alloy is made from a ceramic and tungsten fused on the molecular level, it can only be produced in very high pressure furnaces but has only a third of the weight of depleted uranium and nearly the same stopping power. This armor was originally tested by itself , but was found to be vulnearable to SABOT rounds and HESH rounds.
To make it more resilient to HESH, the armour was back coated with a layer of carbon fiber mesh, that effectively kept the armour plating from shattering inside the cabin and harming the crew.
To combat the SABOT threat the ceramite was them layered in a composite fashion. The first layer was of ceramite, then a layer of carbon fiber mesh , then a layer of kinetic reducing gel, another layer of ceramite and then the back coating of carbon fiber mesh. This new composite layering made even heavy 165mm SABOT anti tank rounds nearly useless against the armor with a single hit.
In 2005 Narvik Adavanced Ordinance in conjunction with Jaguar-Daimler developed a 5 cm thick ballistic layer to be added on top of the armor as well as a pixelated mesh plating to allow for active or reactive camoflage. The ballistic plating is made of a ultra dense plastic explosive compound backed with a ceramite plate , this gives a layer of reactive armor to the composite layers. These plates are very light, and easy to replace, the pixelated mesh coating has been integrated to this panels and it literally takes only minutes to remove a 'spent' panel and replace it with a new one. These plates proved to give the protection of an additional 12in of armour plating.
In 2006 This armor was introduced on the Thunderer and then in 2010 on the Thunderer II main battle tanks. Sucessful mass production of the armor has led to naval versions and the pixelated skin has been used on Vaadian aircraft as well.
The Cermite Composite Armour has improved the surviveabilty of the Thunderer II by 200% over depleted uranium Chobham armor and has reduced the weight by more than one half, allowing a larger, more robust chassis and main gun in the Thunderer II. It has also helped fuel the design of larger, safer and faster naval craft that are better able to survive direct hits.

The Chieftan Command Tank
Jaguar-Daimler has recently completed the task of providing a command tank for the Retaliatory Guard. This idea was spurred by the developments with the Jaguar Arsenal-cruiser, mainly it's remote control components. The new Chieftan Command Tank will be deployed with every unit of ten Thunderer II main Battletanks and will provide a Fire Command platform as well as the ability to remotely control the Thunderer II tanks in it's unit.
It is well known that in combat there are any number of situations where the crew of an operational tank are either killed or forced to abandon the tank. This , in the past led to the tank being removed from contributing to the economy of firepower in a deployed force. Not anymore.
The Tactical computers of the Thunderer II are being retrofitted with software that allows, via satellite link, for the commander of a Chieftan Command Tank to remotely control the tank , and this control can be extended to ten tanks at a time. Crewless tanks, tanks that are stuck and have had the crew evacuated can still continue to fight and use the Hurricane Targetting Systems. The remote control system allows the Commander to remotely move the tank, fire it's weapons and do everyting that a normal crew can do, this is of course only limited by the tanks condition.
'Dead' Retaliatory Guard tanks are no longer a part of the scenery, they are now capable of continued contribution to battles, until they are completely destroyed.

Special Equipment Army: The Fists of Vaad
Orginally founded in 1952 as an air cavalry corps. the Fists of Vaad were given helicopters, both attack and transport and designated as close air support. Eventually the Fists were transformed into a logistics army and were equipped mainly with trucks, transports and a few hundred A-10 Thunderbolt ground attack craft. Re-organized again in 2015 the Fists were once again designated as air-cavalry and were given the newly developed Avery Frost Artemis Tactical Attack Vehicle.
The Fists of Vaad now compromise of Four Divisions of Air-Cavalry with twenty thousand men in each division. In each Division are two thousand pilots and eighteen thousand support and transport crews. Each division also has ten Manticore Demolition Tanks to clear runways and two thousand Artemis Tactical Attack Vehicles.

The Artemis is specifically designed for close air support and anti-ship attack. The Artemis' advanced topographical radar system allows the pilot to set an altitude of as low as fifty-five feet! The Artemis shares the same pixelated camoflage skin and active radar cancellation as the Orion . The Artemis has a single internal weapons bay that can carry twelve M3/Comet AA missiles or six M6/Neptune ASM's. The under the wing ordinance pods can carry an additional twenty four Cerebus-110 air to surface missiles.
The Neptune ASM has a special function all it's own. With the Artemis' ability to skim ground and water surface well below the radar of ship based systems the Neptune has only been provided with a dumb fire laser targetting system and a rather short range of seventy five miles. The Neptune accelerates to mach 5 upon lauch, rendering most ABM systems useless against it, the Artemis gets in close, fires and the Neptune accelerates to rapidly to be avoided. It also 'dives' in it's final attack phase. This last second dive allows it to avoid CIWS systems and insures that it strikes either on deck, or at or near the waterline , doing maximum damage to enemy ships.

The Quartermasters Corps
Recently re-activated and re-organized the Quartermasters Corps will begin replacing the Velite Guard as logistical support for the Retaliatory Guard. Members of the Corps will be equipped as followed:
1 Stahl Helm, 1 FN-FNC Assault Rifle, kevlar bullet proof vest, standard issue fatigues and combat boots, 1 FN .50 side arm, 2 clips of caseless ammunition for each weapon, spade, survival knife, mess kit.
The Quartermasters will receive one year of Retaliatory Guard training after the mandatory one year of Velite Guard training. The Quartermasters will then be placed in active duty or reserve duty and will be activated in phases as the situation dictates.
Level 1 Activation- For everyday service the Quartermasters will maintain a 1:1 ratio with the Retaliatory Guard. This is the support level for inactive Retaliatory Guard Armies at base or at camp.
Level 2 Activation- For deployed Guard Armies the logistical support will increase to a 3:1 ratio Quartermasters to Guardsmen. This will be the level of deployment for near activated Guard expecting only light duty.
Level 3 Activation- For deployed Guard Armies that deploy farther from the Free Republic the ration shall be raised to 5:1 Quartermasters to Guardsmen. This will allow the Guard to focus on combat operations mostly and only have to perform light duty in camp.
Level 4 Activation- Full activation. This will boost the Quartermasters to a 10:1 ratios with the Retaliatory Guard. In this level all duty outside of combat duty will be done by the Quartermasters, freeing the Retaliatory Guard to only have to worry about the enemy.
The Quartermasters Corps will be responsible for supply, transport, medical, repair and engineering duties and will recruit and train as needed in these categories. This system of Quartermasters and levels of deployment will insure that both the Retaliatory Guard and the Quartermasters respond flexibly and with the greatest economy to the circumstances.

Each Quartermasters Corps Army is 80,000 men divided into 4 divisions of 20,000 each. Each 20,000 man Division consists of 8,000 General Purpose Corps Guards, 3,000 Military Police, 1,000 Mechanics and specialized engineers,4,000 pilots, 2,000 Doctors and Nurses and 2,000 General Maintenance Technicians.
Each Corps Division also has a compliment of 1000 Atlas Air Carriers,1000 Marathon-C air transports, 500 Variant-A Groundhogs, 500 Variant-B Groundhogs and 500 Variant-C Groundhogs, 1,000 Taskmasters and 5,000 Guardians with 1,000 Packhorse trailers.
Each Corps Division has two Medical Battlefield Systems (tm) Modular Field Hospital capable of housing up to 2,000 injured , with sealed operating theatres and heating and air conditioning.
Each Corps Division has 5 Mobile Bivouac Centers consisting of 22 modular barracks capable of housing 5,000 men with mess and latrine facilities each.
These bivouacs are constructed of an inflatable frame capable of bearing up to an eight thousand pound load and are constructed in a dome structure that can be covered with any number of camoflage coverings. These are huge structures capable of housing large numbers of people.

QMC Equipment
The Quartermasters Corps maintins a large amount of equipment used to transport supplies and troops to anywhere on the globe. The Quartermasters Corps are responsible for manning the naval transports touched upon earlier , this section mainly deals with air transports and ground transports.
QMC Groundhog
The First and most used transport is the QMC Groundhog, this comes in three variants of varying size and hauling capability and look roughly the same. All variants utilize Bio-Diesel fuel for longer range and no emissions.

The Guardian is the QMC's multirole ATV. Able to be cinfigured to carry up to six men or one ton of equipment, it is the go everywhere, haul everything ATV. The Guardian can also be equipped with the Packhorse trailer to haul even more equipment.

Next in line are the QMC's stable of air transports. The QMC uses only two air transports, the Atlas and the Marathon. The Avery Frost Aeronautics Marthon is a super sonic transport that will be given it;s own section to give sufficent room for it's revolutionary design and many variants.

Avery Frost Aeronautics Marathon-C Military Transport
The Marathon-C is based on Avery Frost's patented Marathon template. Early in 2005 Avery Frost built his first Marathon using his patented 'Turbo-Clutch' VTOL system. The Turbo-Clutch allowed for a conventinal sized and placed jet engine to internally redirect exhaust through downward facing vents, making it possible to build VTOL aircraft on a large scale and with the same capabilities and capacities as non VTOL aircraft. This spawned the Martahon-A,B,C and D.
The Marthon-C is a VTOL heavy transport. It is capable of carrying three hundred and sixty troops and equipment or three ground transports or one main battle tank. It can make true VTOL landings, or even hover to allow forces to rappel down out of the aircraft. It is too heavy to make true VTOL take off, but the Turbo-Clutch allows the Martahon to vent exhaust both down and rear at the same time, the Marathon-C can take off with only a third of the runway space needed by a Hercules or Galaxy transport.
The Marathon also has commercial versions that are widely used and available throughout the Free Republic.

Retaliatory Guard Logos
To allow easier identification of Retaliatory Guard units, each Guard Army has it's own logo. Generally the logo is worn on the right shoulder, with a division patch on the left shoulder (simply displaying division number 1-4) of the Retaliatory Guard uniform. For dress occasions the patch is not subdued, but full color and each division will display a flag with the army logo on one saide and division number on the other.

Chok-Mool Super Heavy Battle Tank - In Depth
Each and every command battalion of the Red Jaguar has two hundred Chok-Mool Super Heavy Battletanks. These tanks are manned by the Red Jaguar and can transport an entire battalion of Red Jaguar in comfort and safety around the battlefield. The Chok-Mool is also a fearsome weapon, capable of inflicting serious damage on the enemy at long, or close range.
The 180mm Pounder Howitzer is caple of lobbing shells over one hundred miles and can fire massive HE shells, or hard nosed tungsten core Bunker Busters or a Cluster Bomb shell that detonates above ground, showering the enemy positions with 'bomblets' and shrapnel.
It's secondary armament are two 30mm Scorcher chain cannons that fire a tungsten core apds round. These rounds when fired in a concentrated burst can chew through tank armour or fired in a spread pattern can eliminate infantry with alarming efficency. The Scorcher also has computer targetting, exactly like a naval vessels CIWS systems, allowing it to track and shoot down missles targetted at it, or at friendly formations. The Scorcher has over a 98% hit rate against sub-sonic missles and a 87% rate against supersonic missles. Needless to say missle based anti-tank systems are nearly useless against the Chok-Mool.
The Chock-Mool has a pair of Comet/M3 missle launcher pods attached to retractable cherry-picker arms. These are the same pods mounted on the Thunderer II main battle tank and make the Chok-Mool a SAM battery site.
The Chok-Mool also carries an integrated plow. The spades that run aong the front of the tanks can be hydraulicly controlled to extend seven feet, lower or raise five feet and spread out to cover the entire width of the tank. These spades can plow up electrical lines, mines, roads, rail lines and trenches. This gives the Chok-Mool a frightening demolition capability.
The Chok-Mool is also very well armoured with eight and a half inches of the Ceramite Composite Armour it takes several direct hits to actually damage the tank, on top of that is the usual reactive armour plating, giving it even greater survivability. It's great size and large compartments means that the five crew and passengers can safely carry all of their regular Red Jaguar armor and equipment as well as food, water, medical supplies and spare parts for the Chok-Mool itself.
The driver of the Chok-Mool also has a greater field of vision than most other tank drivers. The drivers periscope has a panoramic view and can be switched to view straight ahead or at an angle so that the driver can see what is immediately in front of him. This is importnat to keep a tank the size of the Chok-Mool in control. With it's wide stance and wide tracks the Chok-Mool can move over all but the softest of terrain easily, and it can even usually dig it's way through sand and swamp, though fuel consumption suffers. The Chok-Mool is also ABC hardened and can even remain submerged for up to an hour.
The Range of the Chok-Mool is a suprising three hundred and fifty miles. Despite it's size it uses a very fuel efficent engine and a very high grade bio-diesel fuel that gives it an envoromentally friendly aspect and a great improved mpg ratio.

Retaliatory Guard Ordinance
This section deals with all the major missile types used by the Retaliatory Guard and the Icarus Torpedo used by the Naval Guard.
The most commonly used missile is the Comet/M6 which has replaced the earlier Comet/M3. The Comet/M6 is the primary air to air missile of the Air Guard, the primary anti-aircraft missile of the Retaliatory Guard and the primary anti-aircraft missile of the Naval Guard. It can be fitted to the Orion Fighter, the Thunder II Battle Tank, the Chok-Mool Super-Heavy Battletank and to ship mounted Comet-Launchers.

They both share the same satellite guidance, if satellite guidance fails the missiles switch to image recognition and GPS navigation. The slim flat body and carbon mesh anti-radar coating make the Perun's Hammer nearly invisible to radar, it's Enigma Engine has a minimal heat signature, giving it the heat appearance of a small air to air missile. The supercavitating Icarus uses a GPS tracking system to chase down it's targets, satellite information on it's own position and the position of the target and continually corrects the Icarus' path in response to the target's movement. The Naval Guard Deep LFMB satellite low frequency communication that allows it's subamrines to communicate with satellites at depth, also allow the torpedo to communicate with it's satellite guidance at depths of up to 1,200 ft. The Icarus can also be launched by a modified Apollo Cruise Missle to be delivered to the waters near a distant target, and then 'fired' from the Apollo Missle at the distant target.

The solidly built Neptune is the primary ASM carried by the Artemis Ground Attack Jet. This ASM is desogned to launched up close at naval targets and is guided only laser and is programmed to move erratically to avoid ship based missile counter measures. Usually launched by the Artemis at a range of no greater than ten miles, the Neptune quickly closes and strikes targets befor the can react.
Revenge Ordinance
The most terrifying attack that the Naval Guard can unleash, on ship and shore alike is the Revenge Ordinance. Each Revenge Battleship has two batteries of three 24" Ship Destroyer Guns. These massive guns are capable of hurling three and a half ton shells nearly three hundred miles. The giant shells can easily sink a ship with a single hit, and can swamp smaller vessels and capsize them with near-misses.
The Ship Destroyer Batteries can also utilize the 'Revenge Shell'. This one and a half ton shell is completely packed in propellant (on top of what is loaded behind it) so that it fits the 24" diameter of the Ship Destroyer guns. This smaller size with added propellant can hurl the shell a staggering seven hundred miles. Once 'unpacked' through firing the shell also deploys it's guidance fins and self-propellor giving it another two hundred miles of guided range. This shell has never been used in combat, and only a small handful of nations even know of it's existance.

Naval Guard Tactical Support Groups
Three classes of ships orginally purchased from Clan Smoke Jaguar for evaluation purposes have now found a role of their own in the increasingly important Naval Guard. The Ministry of Defence purchased thirty each of the Firestorm Arsenal Ship, Carrack CG and the Sniper DD. Orginally these were to be used solely for evaluation and training, but due to their performance have been added to the Naval Guard as support components.
Each Tactical Support group will be made up of three each of the Firestorm,Carrack and Sniper and will act as a rapidly deployable support components for larger Tactical Group deployments. These smaller groups will also be deployed along with the Coastal Guard for patrol duties.
There will be ten of these Tactical Support Groups deployed.

Clan Smoke Jaguar's arsenal ship design. Like most other vessels of the type, these ships are very stealthy and highly automated to reduce crew requirements. They differ from contemporaries in two major areas. The first is the inclusion some onboard fire control systems, which most arsenal ships lack (they rely entirely on other units like AWACS and ground control stations for this). While these increase cost and crew needed for the ship, they provide it with an autonomous strike capabilility, as well as an effective backup should the data-link be countered, or the controlling units eliminated. An offshoot of the DD-X program, the Carrack is a massive cruiser for providing fleet air defense. In addition to a 5”/62 calibre gun, it boasts four 64-cell VLS launchers, for a total of 256 cells. The ship also has an exceptional tracking and fire control system, and can support the SM-2 ER SAM, which has a maximum range of well over 300 km.
A new series of the ship is now out. Referred to as Flight II, these ships replace the original fire control system with the new advanced CIRRUS unit, allowing for greater engagement capabilities and the use of new NADSAM missiles.

A shore bombardment version of our DD-X program. The Sniper is primarily tasked with engaging land targets in support of ground operations, though it also maintains a significant ASuW (Anti-Surface Warfare) capability. It’s primary armament is the new 155mm AGS (Advanced Gun System), which fires the LAGP (Land Attack Guided Projectile) and SAGP (Surface Attack Guided Projectile), as well as standard unguided ballistic projectiles. The ship also maintains 2 64-cell VLS systems, as well as deck and hangar facilities for two SH-60 class helicopters. Avery Frost Aeronautics Fortuna Ultra-Sonic Interceptor
With faster and higher flying long range bombers being built and used all over the world the Ministry of Defence requested a jet interceptor that can outrun such bombers and knock them down before they ever even reach Vaadian air-space. Avery Frost then developed their chevron-winged AVF-1F Fortuna Ultra-Sonic Interceptor.
This remarkable jet is a legacy design of the legendary SR-71 Blackbird, using many of the same design features, but adding improved materials and technology. The Fortuna can reach speeds of up to mach 12 and has a range of nearly ten thousand miles. X15-B1 Vulcan Super-Heavy Bomber
Recognizing the need to update the aging force of the B7E Vampire Heavy Bombers, Avery Frost Aeronautics was also commissioned to build a super-sonic heavy bomber with a large capacity and improved stealth profile. This lead to the development of the X15-B1 Vulcan.
Using the sucessful and highly powerful and efficent 'Enigma' jet engines, Avery Frost Engineers supersized the engine and put four of them on the Vulcan air-frame. Each Super-Scorpion Enigma Engine can produce 67,000lbs of thrust, per engine, giving the Vulcan nearly as much thrust as it's maximum weight load.

CIWS ‘Thor’ System- the main belt of the ship is charged with ambient static electricity. When going into combat the belt is activated , the effect is that any object coming within two hundred yards of the main belt causes an electrical arc, identical to a lightning strike. This arc can destroy conventional missiles and has been shown to reduce the damage of energy weapons by nearly ninety percent in some cases.
Okay. First problem: the main belt must therefore be completely insulated from the rest of the ship to prevent leakage. Additional problem: the rest of the ship is certainly within 200 yards of its own main armor belt. Air and other relatively inert gases are, for all intents and purposes, one of the best insulators in the universe (their permittivity is just short of the permittivity of the vacuum, which is the absolute top limit of an insulator). Meaning: your arc belt either a) does not work or b) damages the ship itself.

Iridium doesn't "dampen energy." It can absorb energy, like anything else, and so it could be acting as a heat shield. But "energy dampening" is empty treknobabble.

Atmospheric heating on bodies optimized for M5 flight is rather intense. Your vessel is blunt-nosed and so will generate bow shocks, meaning a) lots and lots and lots of drag, b) lots and lots and lots of overpressure, c) lots and lots and lots of heat.

This ‘bubble’ encompasses the whole ship and actually extends about fifty yards from the hull itself. Unless the anti-gravity bubble (AGB) causes accelerations on the order of hundreds or thousands of gravities, it will not noticably affect standard-speed ballistic weapons in its radius of effect (having so little space and time to act as an acceleration). However, it is not a force producer, it is a force nullifier; meaning it should impart no forces on objects entering into it for the sake of internal consistency.
If bullets tend to skip along the outside, then whatever effect that causes it (because it is not a force-producing but a force-nullifying system) should cause bullets to tend to skip along the inside. For internal consistency, your ship cannot fire out of its own propulsive field.

Patently incorrect. Your antigravity propulsion only nullifies forces (by your own admission), not produces them. No generator "produces" power. A generator converts energy from one state to another; and it cannot do this with perfect efficiency. Likewise, the electrical energy needed to get a flywheel to spin is greater than the mechanical energy the flywheel stores.
Either you are breaking the Second Law of Thermodynamics or else you are merely gaining back (without perfect efficiency) the energy put into the anti-grav system to spin it up. The former is certainly not PMT or MT.

If you also clicked some links and looked into the 'Project Thunderhead' it is a future project.
The Free Republic is currently in the year 2015. The Thunderheads built at this time are a development project, nor have the Bendith Reavers been established. No thunderhead has ever been used in an rp, project Thunderhead has only appeared as a developmental thread.This thread is simply a repository for all Vaadian military technology (current or eventual, theorized or currently built)
You see, I like to rp (whether anyone else takes part or not) development of my nations technologies, both civilian and military. In the 2+ (close to 20 years rp time) I have rp'ed Ilek-Vaad , the nation has gone from from fission nuclear power to fusion, fossil fuels to renewable plant based ethanols and an FN-FAl armed conventionally armed army to the one represented here. The Retaliatory Guard has gone from using the Challenger MBT to developing the Thunderer MBT and then the Thunderer II MBT. I am not comfortable with MY nation simply developing technologies overnight and personally like to rp development as much as possible.
I also take great exception to any rper that roleplays, space fleets as pointing out to other players what is technologically impossible. I also take exception (as I have pointed out numerous times ) to being labeled MT/PMT/ FT or whatever. There are 'PMT' nations that use mecha, there are players are categorize 'MT' as 1970-1980 and anything after that as FT, there are players that don't necessarily adhere to any of these arbitrary categories. I personally prefer to be called PMT, but it is simply an arbitrary label that only represents my personal technological leanings.
When your spacefleets and technologies are possible, then you can criticize my rp science. Since NationStates is purely and entirely fantasy, I will not get into debates about what is possible or impossible in a fantasy world.

I have pointed out to at least two dozen other players in a half a dozen other threads that I do not use the Thunderhead Type III. I personally am uncomfortable with it's technology ( all of it suggested by my friend Jey, who is getting his doctorate in physics, which he assures me are 'theorectically plausible') The Thunderhead Type III was merely an example of a 'Grav-ship' that actually has stats and a rundown of how it works. Unlike other nations grav-ships that just work with no attempt at an explanation.
I have learned my lesson, don't bother with an explanation.

Orion Active Radar Cancellation
In late 2007, Avery Frost Aeronautics began developing a radar cancellation system to protect it's older and 'higher profile' aircraft, as well as possibly protecting naval ships and ground vehicles. The Skunk Works in Costa-Tula's 'Black Yards' began first working on Plasma Radar Cancellation, but soon found this to be very cumbersome, expensive and quite possibly impossible to mount on each and every individual aircraft. Plan B was then adopted.
Plan B was to develop an active radar cancellation system based on the principle of wave superposition. The only hurdle to clear was how to create the various different signals with unique amplitudes that are reflected by a craft at the same time in various stages and angles of flight. Engineers found that they would need to mount at least a dozen different antennas and radar reflectors to generate a 'white noise' type of effect to cause confusion to the enemy radar. This method was also discarded as it was found that the white noise spikes generated by the system could actually be used as an alternate method of tracking the craft. It is interesting to note that Air Guard Hurricane Radar Systems can do just that and this type of active radar cancellation is useless against the Air Guard.
Plan B was finally fleshed out into 'Operation Orion'. In 2010 Avery Frost Aeronautics LTD. Developed a series of carbon-fiber mesh materials that were very nearly 100% RAM , or radar absorbent material, It was now possible to build and design a craft that was 90% invisible to radar, and this is where Operation Orion really took off. Engineers working on the next generation stealth fighter were able to design a fighter purely composed of RAM paneling and were further able to outfit the 10% of the 'high profile' angled areas (tail fins, where the wing joins the body, the cockpit and the underside) with antennas and radar reflectors.
With two antennas and two reflectors (one for the underside of the craft and one for the top) Operation Orion was finally able to develop a system that was able to calculate and mimic perfectly radar signals that would bounce off of the very limited 'radar visible' areas of the new stealth fighter. This new fighter was named the Orion (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6809507&postcount=8) and went into full production in 2011.
With it's integrated radar calibration system the Orion is automatically able to detect enemy radar tracking, adjust it's reflectors for the Orion's movement and angle of flight and mimic identically the sent radar signal in both frequency and amplitude. The Orion does not imitate white noise, but simply does not show up. Enemy radar is fooled into thinking that it has not received a 'hit' and is merely picking up it's own sent signal on the exact same amplitude and frequency.
With the development and integration of RAM components and the active radar cancellation, Avery Frost was finally able to produce a craft that was truly invisible to radar.
Developmemt is still underway to make this technology useable and feasible for other types of vehicles.

Retaliatory Guard Ordinance: NAO Thunder-Head Bunker Buster
Narvik Advanced Ordinance's Thunder-Head is the main counter measure for enemy emplacements. This relatively small but powerful satellite guided bomb is exclusively mounted on the Orion Stealth Fighter for it's hard target elimination missions in it's bomber configuration. The Thunder-Head features a delayed fuse, concentrated charge high explosive warhead, and relies on GPS guidance to hit it's targets.

Jaguar-Daimler Thunderer Type 2 'Te Bako'
The new Thunderer Type 2 is the latest tank design to be integrated into the Retaliatory Guard. The new 'Te Bako' (Tolteca for 'Shark) is designed as a conventional tank, with some quite unconventional changes. The New Te Bako is not designed with multi-role functions in mind, but to be a superior conventional battletank, capable of destroying enemy armor, vehicles and troop formations.
While the Te Bako does not have the anti-air and artillery capabilities of the Thunderer II it does have improved armor and speed, as well as increased maneuverabilty. It's extra wide tracks allow it to move at speed even over sandy and marshy terrains.

The Te Bako's impressive engine is a Bio-Diesel/Lithium Battery Cell hybrid. For cruising the engine utilizes both, for fast acceleration and top speed the Battery Cells switch off and the Bio-Diesel engine switches to all 16 cylinders. The running of the Bio-Diesel engine recharges the battery cells, giving the Te Bako a range of up to 200 miles with an empty gas tank. The engine can also use standard diesel fuels in an emergency.
The main gun uses an auto-loader system, meaning one less crewman and greatly improved weight. The turret and whole tank are very low profile, nearly a foot shorter than other conventional tanks , making it harder for infantry carried anti-tank weapons to target. The Te Bako carries APDS, HESH and HEAT rounds. Both of it's machine guns use FN-Ilek's patented tungsten core AP rounds. For targetting the Te Bako also utilizes the Hurricane Tactical Integrated Targetting System (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7776954&postcount=30), just like the Thunderer II and the Growler.
The Retaliatory Guard had begun replacing half of the Thunderer II's in every Armored Division, giving the Retaliatory Guard Armoured Divisions a heavy hitting one-two punch.

New Equipment- FN-SCAR Assault Rifle

The Retaliatory Guard has approved the replacement of the modified FN-Minimi assault rifle with the new FN-SCAR assault rifle. The Retaliatory Guard has opted to use the FN-SCAR-H which uses the same 7.62x51 caseless ammunition as the Minimi. The FN-SCAR-H also mounts an under the barrel 40mm grenade launcher. The FN-SCAR is a lighter, more rugged assault rifle, which should improve the Retaliatory Guard's already legendary efficiency.

Avery Frost Reaper Air Supremacy Fighter
Avery Frost Aeronautics LTD and the Air Guard have unveiled the new AVF-001R Reaper Air Supremacy Fighter. Unlike other Vaadian jets this is no multi-role tactical fighter, but a pure dog-fighter designed to eliminate enemy airforces entirely.
The fleet delta winged craft is made from entirely radar absorbant materials and is equipped with the Orion active radar cancellation, this coupled with it's paired Enigma engines that are absolutely silent and give next to no infra red footprint make this jet impossible to target with conventional anti-air counter measures. With it's high top speed and service ceiling of nearly eighty thousand feet the Reaper can catch and dive down from above at enemy fighters before they are even capable of detecting it, allowing the Reaper to finish off enemy fighters and bombers with it's paired 40mm auto-cannons. The internal missile bay can carry four Comet/M6 air to air missiles for the difficult targets, or additional fuel for extended flight.
The Reaper has no peer in air to air dog-fighting in the world.

Ministry of Defence Budgetary Breakdown
At current spending levels the Ministry of Defence in The Free Republic has twenty-nine trillion Drachma (roughly 50 trillion USD) available to spend on the Retaliatory Guard, Air Guard and Naval Guard. The Velite Guard are funded by the Ministry of National Defence and have a seperate budget of six trillion Drachma.
Research and development, which also includes the Phyrric I space station and any other 'experimental projects' is allocated eight trillion Drachma annually.
The Naval Guard receives an annual budget of seven trillion Drachma.
The Air Guard receives and annual budget of six trillion Drachma.
The Retaliatory Guard Armies receives six trillion Drachma.
This breaks down as follows:
The Naval Guard operates seven hundred and eighty capital ships and combat submarines with a total crew of seventy thousand and fifty two thousand Naval Guard Marines, along with seven thousand fighter jets and transports. This breaks dow to a funding level of forty million nine hundred-ninety thousand four hundred and six Drachma per each man, plane and ship.
The Air Guard operates twenty thousand fighters and bombers spread out through the five Air Command Regions. This also requires one hundred and twelve thousand pilots and five hundred thousand ground and support crews. This breaks down to annual expenditures of nine million four hundred and ninety three thousand six hundred and seventy Drachma per pilot, crew and jet.
The Retaliatory Guard Armies operate two million onehundred eleven thousand and one hundred and ninety two soldiers, armor, transports and support jets, this breaks down annual expenditures of two million eight hundred forty one thousand and nine hundred and ninety six Drachma per each man and piece of equipment.
The Quater Masters Corps has a seperate transportation budget of eight trillion Drachma annually.
These numbers per man and per piece of equipment are stronomical compared to most nations that average right around seven hundred thousand USD (402,000DR) per piece of equipment and soldier!! This budget is explained by the Retaliatory Guard emphasis on high tech equipment coupled with extensive training. Every Retaliatory Guardsman undergoes three years of combat training (called Special Ops training by most other nations armed forces) before being assigned to a Retaliatory Guard army or the Naval Guard and the Air Guard.
Air Guard pilots are further trained another two years and all others are given a year of specialized training. This makes the entire Retaliatory Guard the equivalent of Special Forces of other nations armed forces. This disparity in training and equipment allows the Retaliatory Guard to rack it's normal 80-1 kill ratios, in some conflicts this has been as high as 100-1!

Tormentor Class BattleCruiser
With the evolution of faster and more numerous warships the Naval Guard commissioned Costa-Tula Shipyards LTD to design and build a ship capable of hunting down and killing enemy capital ships at range. Costa Tula Shipyards , after many starts and stops, finally blended together all of the technologies developed over the decades and built into the Revenge BattleShip, Tollan Carrier and Jaguar Arsenal Cruiser. They came up with the Tormentor Class Battlecruiser.
The Tormentor is fast, with a powerful long range and short range punch, capable of chasing down enemy Dreadnoughts, Battleships and Carriers, and seriously damaging them before they become a threat to any Naval Guard forces. The Tormentor utilizes the same automation and space saving systems from the Jaguar Arsenal-Cruiser, giving it a tiny crew compliment and the capacity to be controlled remotely, with no crew. It also has a flight deck and can carry a single Naval Squadron (5) of Orion Multi-Role Fighters.
The Tormentor also has triple redundant satellite relay centers, multiply redundant radar and sonar arrays as well as tight band sonar and microwave arrays. The Tormentor has the ability to spot a dime sinking 100 miles from it's hull. The Tormentor is also fast, the fastest ship ever in the Naval Guard. It's speed gives it the ability to out run escort ships and sink Capital Ships and transports before the escorts can even catch up with it.
The Torementor also carries a scaled version of the Revenge Battleships 24" Ship Destroyer Guns, but the smaller 16" Ship Destroyers can still fire one and half ton Revenge Ordinance over one thousand miles.

The picture of the Te Bako is the T-84 right? We were debating on which tank it was - T-80 turret and some such, but with the huge bustle...thought it might have been the T-84.

It is the T80-UM2 'CHIORNY ORIOL' or Black Eagle. It is a modification of the T-80, the predecessor to the T-95. Of course the Vaadian tank only shares appearance with the Russian Tank.

Yea, that was my first guess, but there's actually two Black Eagle prototypes that have been shown in public, IIRC. One of them is without the longer turret bustle. The Black Eagle is actually a turret upgrade, and you can mount the turret on any tank, not just the T-80. But that's besides the point. Thanks for the answer though.

I wasn't aware of a second prototype, the website I took the pictures from only described the one pictured and only discussed a T-95 that the turret was designed for. I haven't seen a picture of it, not that I was actively looking.

Narvik Advanced Ordinance 'Woten' EMP Missile
Narvik Advanced Ordinance LTD has finished it's EMP project completing the Woten EMP Missile. The missile is designed with a Explosively Pumped Flux Compression Generator that generates an Electro Magnetic Pulse field approximately five thousand feet in diameter. The missile is designed to fly low, under one thousand feet to give maximum coverage over a target area. The EMP pulse can knock out all electrical circuits and their dependent systems within it's field radius.

Thunderhead Mk 5 - Lightning
By 2018 the 'Grav Ship' project that had spawned the test 'Thunderhead' airships had finally run full course. With the introduction Of Commonwealth (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=573485) technologies Avery Frost Aeronautics was finally able to build facilities for the mass production of an airship for the Retaliatory Guard. The new 'Lightning Class' airship was finally put into production at a cost of 2.5 billion DR per ship. The first three delivered in December of 2018.
The Lightnings would be grouped in wings of three and under the command of Retaliatory Guard Air Guard Command.

The Air Guard Marine
With the introduction of the Lightning Airship as a 'ship of the line' for the Air Guard it was also decided to commission a dedicated force trained to make aerial assaults. The Retaliatory Guard commissioned the Air Guard Marines.
The Air Guard Marines are equipped with the latest in armor and equipment, and are the first Retaliatory Guard units to be equipped with FN-Ilek's FAR Pulse Rifle.

The FN-FAR use an electrical pulse to ignite the propellant which is packed around it's caseless 8.2mm bullets. The bullets themselves are made of a lightweight ceramic alloy with a tungsten carbide core. The lightweight outer shell is designed to flatten on impact with regular or reactive armor, allowing the tungsten carbide tip to carry on and drill through the armor. It's penetration is far greater than conventional bullets.
The electrical ignition also reduces the number of movable parts in the rifle making it extremely reliable and rugged and very easy to keep steady even during full automatic fire.
The Air Guard panoply uses the standard hardened ceramite shell mounted over lightweight Kevlar suit with a D30 shock absorbing gel core. The D30 gel immediately hardens on impact to disperse the energy of the impact, rendering more ballistics useless agianst the Air Guard's armor.
The panoply is also fully enclosed and ABC hardened complete with respirator that can be closed to allow only air from a small temporary supply, or a larger air supply that can be fitted if operating in airless or unsafe environments is anticipated.
