Hippolyta class Arsenal Ship
______________________________________
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice; a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their own free choice -- is often the means of their regeneration.
~ John Stuart Mill
The Hippolyta class Arsenal Ship is an extremely powerful vessel capable of unleashing a tremendous amount of firepower in the form of Cruise missiles. While it was designed with naval bombardment in mind the ship can be easily converted to fulfill the anti-ship role, as its Vertical Launch Systems are capable of launching Anti-Ship Missiles without any modification. The ship's high survivability is due mostly to its stealthy design, and the use of Radar Absorbent Materials (RAM).
The ship also utilizes a fully integrated electrical powerplant. With electric drive, the prime movers rotate electric generators that are connected through cabling to motor drives and electric motors that rotate a ship's propellers. Electricity is the medium for transmitting the energy of the prime mover. It enables "cross connecting" of any available prime mover/generator combination by breaking the physical link between the power generation and power utilization components.
Specifications:
Armament: 500 Vertical Launch System (VLS) capable of launching a variety of missiles, including Tomahawk Land-Attack Missiles and Fenice ASM
Crew: 54 person, ship is highly automated.
Design: The ship was built with stealth in mind, it has a very small radar signature.
Systems: AN/SPY-1B(V) Multi-Function Radar (CG59-73)
AN/SPS-55 Surface Search Radar
AN/SPS-64(V)9 Navigation Radar
AN/SLQ-32A(V)3 Electronic Warfare Suite
Power Plant: Fully Integrated Electrical System
Max Speed: 35 knots
Armor: Double reinforced hull
Length: 776 Feet
Cost: £800 Million Republican Marks - 100 Tomahawks included.
Fleet Guardian Arsenal Ship
________________________________________________
The Fleet Guardian is a variant of the Hippolyta class Arsenal Ship. It's primary purpose is fleet defense against airborne threats. To succeed in this mission the ship has been modified to fire Aster-15 SAM's. On top of a different weapons module, the Fleet Guardian is also fitted with an advanced sensor suite, the BPT-90 Multi-Function and Volume Search Radar.
This solid-state, active array radar system wnot only scans the horizon for high-speed, low-level cruise missile threats, but also provide fire-control illumination for the Fleet Guardian's air defense weapons. It is designed to detect the most advanced low-observable anti-ship cruise missile (ASCM) threats and support fire-control illumination requirements for the Aster-15 Surface to Air Missile. Coupled with a three-dimensional surveillance radar this sensor package is the most advanced, and expensive system in use in the Marina Militare.
Specifications:
Armament: 300 VLS for Aster-30 SAMs
Crew: 58 person, ship is highly automated.
Systems:BPT-90 Multi-Function and Volume Search Radar
AN/SLQ-32A(V)3 Electronic Warfare Suite
Power Plant: Fully Integrated Electrical System
Cost: £1.1 Billion Republican Marks - 300 Aster-30 missiles included
