I always thought: Say you could have 1 million in your army, your going to spend more than 50 on space ships, yes there will be crew, but you can have a smaller army or no tanks. I don't get it.

Well sephiroth, your economy is about half as much per capita as mine but your population is twice as biug.

I have about a hundred smaller capital ships and eight that exceed one mile. ANd i havent lost any in a recent battle. My manoevring is not good, but either your ships are small ones, or you are godmoding and the weapons systems we use will still blow big holes in things as in our past we have needed weapons to keep rebellions under control, and travellign has not been necessary until recently.

My fleet was only sent in a small number but the rest has been mobilised and will arrive outside you teritory shortly.

I have left some ships home but there should be enough to deal with 40% of a warfleet which has about the same value as mine and easily.

Its up to him exactly how big his forces are. It will vary with how big BIG is.

My capital ships vary from 30000 tonnes (about 80 metres long) (costing $1.5bn) to 6000000 tonnes (1 mile long, nearly) (costing $120bn) I know its not proportional to anything else, but what most poepk fail to notice is that as demand increases economies of scale can be exploited. Technologies also advance. In other words future ships will cost less that that law predicts. But not by much. He might also do what i do. Using naval fighters for airforce purposes. Future tech is a bit open eneded really, but even if the technology is cheap, you still have to buy the raw materials....

Id be more concerned by his "strong economy" which whatever GDP calculator you use (or whatever scale you adopt) is about half your GDP per head. Or mine. thats more guns per person for us then..

well if you arent shooting at me, then the planet killer is the only part being ignored then (as I honestly dont think anyone could afford such a machine, though perhaps devices that kill the life on a planet, if they are large and slow.. ie if the enemy has a fleet they can be stopped easil). Sometimes i miss things like that. You might want to try smileys to clarify.

I think planet killers would be so unweildy that they could only really be used for finishing off otherise distraught nations. Anyway, otherwise they end up like n00ks; as a lazy way to end wars...

OOC: Planet killers are a cheap way to cripple planets, if used right, but most aren't Godmods. A few high-speed Nachtium or Nuetronium penetrating rounds would drill straight through the planet and the core would bleed out.

There is a simple explanation to Sephrioth. He writes in Sephriothan - in every single post. Pure dedication to his nation and its stupidity.

while the offer is appreciated seph, our small nation has a lot of money (ie our navy is about the same size as yours because while we are smaller, we have a huge GDP per head)

if you protected us in more than a loose alliance youd be leaving us stronger than you. Thats said. We have stood down most of our border patrols for the time being, and most of our navy is back in our system.

OOC: was Seph joking? I dont know, but i gave him the benifit of the doubt because he obvioulsy regretted such an action and unlike my nation im actually not an evil psychotic.

And as for planet killers, this is true, but an 89000km one oe is a godmod. Secondly, using them sucessfully against a nation with its entire space naval fleet in full operation (and the same size as yours) would be a godmod, as to would have to get in range.

I dont think that planet killers could be sucessfully used unless the enemy navy was crippled or tied up first in its entirety, as with a gun that big you'd would have a lot else running(unless you spent a lot more money than any NS nation has on it) so it would be easily destroyed by a couple of lagre capital ships or a single super capital ship. (infact I have two ships especially deisgned for targets like that which are more than 50% gun)

In response to this recent threat Lapse has scrambeld 2 eggs. Unfortunatly they were eaten by some kind of advisor.

Lapse has also announced a huge drop in the price of cardboard space ships, coming across an almost infinite supply in an area known as 'sephiroth'. Recovery of teh cardboard space ships, is expected to continue for an unknown period of time.
