Could any experienced RPers give me some guidelines for military equipment
design, especially tanks and naval vessels? I tried going through the
"What godmodding is" thread but the links seem to be broken.

While i'm not experienced RPer in NationStates. I have played several forum RPGs and too much PNP games.
I'm not sure i can give you much advice, but keep it reasonably believable. You can also look at the current or older designs and use them as reference when designing your own. Hope this helps.
Follow the advice posted in the Godmodding thread. It's great. Anyway, a hint about military-
SDI systems, at full capacity, can only intercept 75% of the time. You are never invulnerable to missile attacks, even with the best SDI systems.
