South American States in Earth II Under New Power?

New Jyria

New Jyrian president Fryn Miidas has wired a request to the Venezuelan government to purchase their country from them for a price of 240 billion amus, roughly 370 billion American dollars.

They will wait twenty-four hours for a reply.

P.S. - Don't be discouraged by this idiotic idea of buying a nation. It was never intended to be accepted.

Is this really how territory is aquired on Earth II? Sovereign governments sell their entire nations to others? This is strange indeed...

(OOC: Not really, New Jyria, doesn't really know how to RP it out... New Jyria, you're supposed to invade a country, not try to buy it... No government in their right mind will willingly sell an entire country to another...)

OOC Yea, if he wants to buy the nation it is a if the person selling was selling the people themselves. If he was talking about land it might be ok, but the way he means is to take the people, and then he would probably have a revolution on his hands. No one likes to feel like property :P

You could try applying political pressure, but that's pretty hard to do, esp. with larger countries.

New Jyria recieved a reply from Venezuela early this morning regarding their offer. It was naturally rejected.

Venezuela has allied with Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, and has stated that any further aggression will be met with "severe penalties".

Needless to say, New Jyria has launched fifteen Hjadui-class aircraft carriers, the largest in their fleet. Each have currently on deck ten Erye fighter jets. These are equipped with an improved version of the AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground missile, three on each fighter. These missiles are highly accurate and carry a 125 pound charged warhead for heavily armored structures.

Just for clarification, 15 carriers with a total of 150 fighters with a total of 450 updated Maverick air-to-ground missiles.

There is also one of our Retkah stealth planes on each vessel. These carry two New Jyrian standard ARMs (antiradiation missiles) which targets radar arrays.

So, there are 15 stealth planes for a total of 30 antiradiation missiles.

They are expected to arrive on the shores of Venezuela and her allies soon.

Also, there are 25 New Jyria nuclear submarines escorting the fleet, as well as 10 patrolling the waters around the South American countries.

There they sat. Fifteen impossibly big aircraft carriers, unnaturally passive in the calm coastal waters. Their destination had been reached after a long and uneventful journey under the cover of the New Jyrian submarines.

Admiral Ghei Filen stood on the deck of his carrier, the N.J.S. Tigerdile. He peered through binoculars out at the land that was barely visible in the fading twilight.

The ultimatum was wired, in 24 hours the planes would be sent out, if the government did not agree to stand down and submit to the wishes of the New Jyrian government. Of course the Venezuelan people would not willingly give up their freedom, even though the New Jyrian government promised that they would not be oppressed in any way.

Last Frontier, I would gladly like to go to war with your national holdings. Might I even invade your homeland? It would make a nice landfill for my empire.

But seriously, what were you thinking when you claimed those countries in the first place? I know these are RL countries, but you couldn't possibly invade those four with your country! At the time of post (Aug 2), you could not have had more that 6 million people. Were you not aware that Venezuela alone has 25 million? They should be invading you!

But even if you had some brilliant strategy on invading, you still need to actually rp it, which you have not. So, you'd need to produce some rp, invading countries with a combined population of 26.3 million people. But untill you produce an rp and win, it's not official. And even if you had an rp, your claims are so farfetched you would not be taken seriously.

But if you wish to rp as the resistance, I shall let you.

"Senators of New Jyria," Fryn's voice boomed out through the great hall of the Senate, resonating off the walls and filling the room. "It appears that our interest in South America has already been claimed by a nation."

There were whispers among them members. This could mean an all-out war, something the Senators had not wished for. Fryn wished he could just say 'relax,' but Senate meetings were quite formal affairs and it could be offensive if such a casual tone was taken.

"My dear Senators, this nation does not, at this moment, threaten our way of life. At this moment, it is an emerging nation, and does not seem to be able to support it's claims. It has not even shown the slightest sign of military activity for invading those countries. As far as our military is concerned," he paused, "it is expected we will only be facing Venezuelan sodiers, not Last Frontierian."

The speech continued, but at that moment, 5 of the 15 Retkah stealth planes streaked across the Venezuelan sky, making for the nearest airforce base in the black midnight.

Strict radiosilence was maintained as they soared low, and when in range of ten miles, the ARMs they carried were deployed, and targeted the base's radar towers. The Retkahs turned and were gone into the moonless night.

Back at the N.J.S. Tigerdile, a transmission was recieved. "Targets destroyed. Enemy is blind, repeat, enemy is blind. We are returning to base."

Within one minute, 30 Eyre fighters were airborne, taking their IR-Guided missiles to the crippled airforce base. Their improved Maverick missiles were released in a heavy attack on the main structures. The black sky was alight with the roaring flames that ensued.

As the planes began to make their return, a call came out over the radio "Ah! This is Foxtrot-seven I'm being fired at!" Moments later, an Eyre was hit by a missile and exploded, the remains spiraling into the dense tropics below.

"They must've gotten some planes off the ground before the strike!" Captain Trie Maklom shouted, "Take them out! I repeat, take them out!"

The Eyres turned, and could just make out the flaming exhaust of the Venezuelan fighters. Machine-gun fire filled the hot jungle air.

Also, 70 of our A-48 Jorkha battleships are en route to the carriers' location. They should be arriving soon.

These battleships displace about 30,000 tons of water, but have a relatively thick hull and are armed with 8 large 30-inch guns and 21 small 15-inch guns. They travel at speeds a little under average, due to their heavy armaments. They also carry on board ten long-range, medium-strength missiles.

OOC: It seems Last Frontier has taken leave. Or at least has neglected the RP. I will telegram him and give him 24 more hours to post a reply, and if he fails to do so, the role of playing as the resistance will again be open to those who wish for it.

Anyone want to reserve themselves as alternate now? Come on, Venezuela has 25 million people, all of which you can use for guerrilla warfare! You got nothing to lose, your nation won't be affected!

If you won't do it for me and my imperialism, do it for the Venezuelans. Sure, they'll probably receive more benefits from my government than their own, but still. Help them remain free and independent.

27 Eyre fighter jets returned back to the Hjadui carrier fleet. Captain Ghak Nyuro briskly made his way to Admiral Filen's office.

"Sir, I was told to report here."

"Yes, Captain. You have a report for me?"

"Yes sir. mission was successful. We have destroyed all of the forces on the peninsula, if the reconnaisance report was accurate."

"It was very accurate. Satellites just confirmed your strike. Nothing left."

"Sir, permission to speak freely?"

"Granted."

"Sir if you have a satellite confirmation, why did you want me to give a report?"

"We sent out thirty jets. Only twenty-seven have reported back."

"Oh," Ghak felt his face turn hot and red, "three of our team didn't make it... we engaged the enemy in the air."

"I see. Well, Captain, carry on, then."
