The 50 B-52 Bombers were being prepared....
The whole of New Camewot was busy preparing the launching of the 50 Bombers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 50 bombers reached the Black Sea and splitted in two.
25 were reaching for Mangalia while the other 25 went for Tulcea...
The navy was being prepared for the attack on Constanta, 15,000 Marines had been called and were shipping in.

Zero 5, I see the city

Affirmative Zero 4, aim for the electricity plant and possible military buildings.
Do NOT aim for civilian targets, I repeat do NOT aim for civilian targets.

The same scenario happened in Tulcea and Mangalia.

OOC: Please respect the Closed RP, no military interventions please.

A slight grumble was heard over the sounds of the city of Constanta that day. The people thought nothing of it, just a construction project, or some low-flying airliner, they said to themselves. A few seconds later though, they changed their minds when a loud explosion was heard to the north, and the lights went out. Subway trains came screeching to a halt, and hundreds were stuck inside without any light or help. The city just seemed to shut down as soon as the power went out. Then, the rumblings to the north grew, and a few citizens caught glimpses of some large aircraft flying over the center of the city, a place that was normally restricted airspace. Just as the airplanes were lost to sight, the air raid sirens, a legacy of the Soviet era, began to wail. Many of the people did not understand what this meant, but those who did quickly enlightened them. People hurried towards the shelters that were meant to protect the population from a nuclear strike, and cowered there, unsure of what else to do

Meanwhile, at the airbases and army posts around the town, klaxons went off, and men who had thought today was going to be just another boring day of training jumped into action. Of the 4 bases near the city, 2 were caught totally unaware and were pounded mercilessly by the bombs that poured from the bays of the B-52s. One was the regional airbase, in which were stationed 30 of Barretta's new MiG-35 fighters. They were out on the tarmac for their scheduled maintenance when submunitions from a multitude of cluster bombs swept across them. All but 3 MiGs were either totally destroyed or heavily damaged. These 3 jets were already fueled, however, they had not been loaded up with their missile complement. The guns were a different story. Barrettan regulations mandated that the cannons always be ready to go in case of a surprise attack just like this one, and so as the pilots raced from the ready room, engineers quickly went through the check-list. The MiGs taxied to the runways, and took off on full afterburner, to catch up to an enemy that was already a ways away. The pilots knew their chances of shooting down a bomber with guns were pretty low, but they figured that if they could catch up, they would do their fair share of damage.

At the bases that were not caught with their pants down, Shilka and Tunguska units rolled into the open, and SAM sites switched on their radars. As soon as the bombers came into each respective unit's range, they filled the sky with flak and missiles. The bombers would find it difficult to make their way through that with no ECM or fighter protection.

Tulcea got word of the attack faster than any of the other cities, as it was inland, and the coastal city of Sulina had given them some warning. They called on the air base near Galati to help, and 20 SU-37s and an E-767 EWACS took off to engage the incoming B-52s.

At the Barrettan capital, members of the High Council were taken to a secure location, and the leaders met to discuss what had happened. No information had come out yet as to who had attacked them, as there was no official declaration of war, and that worried the Council. That could only mean one thing: invasion. There would be no point to attack a country without warning unless you planned to annex it soon. Otherwise the international response would be too strong. So they quickly came a decision none wanted to, and the military of Barretta started to grind into action.

Why can there be no military intervention from a nation from Earth II that feels that this attack is uncalled for and may put them in danger? If I saw a nation being attacked for no apparent reason but for a land grab or something of that nature, I would feel that I would be obliged to help. However, I will not interfere with this assault if the nation who is under attack does not want my help. If you do not want Binthor's help, I will respect your decision. But feel free to telegram if you are ever in need of assisstance.

Aequatian Forces in Germany and Poland shall be placed on alert, but will not be deployed unless hostile forces are foolish enough to cross into either country.

Same with the Empire of Layarteb but in NE USA and Labrador (rather than Germany and Poland).

OOC: Me and Baretta agreed no military interventions by other nations.
I hereby declare that I am not interested to conquer Romania, I just want a good RP.

IC:

From the 50 bombers who originaly bombed the citys, only 20 survived the massive SAM-sites.
The 20 bombers landed on the flydecks who were now situated in the black sea, together with the 15,000 marines and some warships...
The first goal was complete, the citys Constanta and Mangalia were out of electricity....

This time it was time for the fighters/bombers and battleships to act.

50 F-16's and 50 B-52 bombers split up in two;

25 of each went to Constanta and Mangalia to attack any SAM-sites left and any military bases.
Again, order was givven to not hit civilians....

5 minutes after the planes left, 5 battleships together with the transporters [carrying 15,000 marines] went on theyre way to a save distance from Constanta...

Meanwhile in Camewot, the first 250 Special Ops were being loaded into special planes that would paradrop them into Constanta.

Men were starting to stand down in Barretta. Some wandered off to eat or drink, others had the sudden urge to use the john, and others just sat back and tried to calm themselves. Just as soon as the SAM crews thought it was safe again, the air raid sirens started a second round. The men ran back into place, and wiated anxiously for the second raid. Guns once again pointed skyward, and radars came on, sweeping the skies for the second time that day.

Meanwhile, the Barrettan High Council ordered the deployment of the 1st and 2nd Motor Rifle Divisions to make their way to the coast, to repel the imminent invasion. The men were just returning from Generia, and had a while to march before they would reach the assembly areas. The other Motor Rifle and Tank Divisions of the Barrettan Army were put on standby to support the 1st and 2nd.

The Navy was ordered to repel any invaders that attempted to come ashore. The admirals knew that the order was mainly a symbolic gesture. The Barrettan Navy was tiny by international standards, as the only areas they had to defend were the few Black Sea ports they had. Their command consisted of 1 dozen cannon and missile armed Scorpion-class missile boats, 2 Steregushchy-class corvettes, 1 Sovremenny-class destroyer, and 5 Kilo-class diesel subs.

When bombers and fighters got back, the army was sure Constanta was out of SAM-Sites.
the 5 Battleships started massive long-range missiles bombardments, aiming the best they could for any navy fortifications or any craft that could annoy the paradropping.

The planes carrying 250 Special Ops came close....
