Press Release from the Dersconi General Staff
Eyewitness News, Channel 13
"Hello, this is Doug Quackmyer for Eyewitness News. With the ever-imposing threats of insurgents in lands conquored, liberated, or otherwise militarily taken over, the General Staff has issued a new Doctrine for Dersconi warfare. As usual, the Kremlin has been silent on the topic, so we cannot tell you what might come." Doug looked behind him to see the Kremlin Gates open and the speaker step on to the podium.
"Here he is -- Imperial Field Marschall Otto von Bismarck, the Supreme Commander of the General Staff."
"Good evening, and thank you for coming," Bismarck started. "I want to start out saying that I'm not much of a speaker, so I'm going to keep this short, so you don't end up having to fall asleep halfway through.
The General Staff, the Council of Ministers, and the Holy Czar have all approved a new doctrine for Dersconi warfare.
As always, the lives of the Dersconi troops come first, civilians and structural damage second. Now, though, the consistant threat of insurgents has persuaded the High Council to change the doctrine.
The warfare doctrine of total warfare has been implemented. Unless wavered by the High Command, total warfare has been approved in order to minimize the loss of Dersconi life.
Thank you, and goodnight."
Bismarck walked off the podium and back into the Kremlin grounds. The reporters rushed up to ask questions, but the gates closed, and the Imperial Guards had their weapons ready, so all the reporters did their closing bit, and left.
