Daylam

A fog fell over the Filipino night, and in many small rivercraft a horde of soldiers waited for a signal. A general, Virialus, radioed the command, and hand signals made sure the rank and file knew that it was time. They quickly loaded themselves into their Nighthawks and wafted into the air, most of them in an almost surreal experience as the first salvo of bombs scattered itself onto the military forces of the Filipino Republic. This, the last Republican hold-out on the entire Filipino Archipelago, would be the first to fall to Daylami armies. The entire republic (consisting only of the island of Luzon) had been the targets of masses of Daylami Spec Ops, and the war in the shadows had placed the infinately more resourceful FDRD with the knowledge of practically the entire military of the Republic and where to strike them. As such, the Nighthawks' surgical strikes did more damage than they should have, as did the TLAM barrage that followed. The same could be said for the artillery strike that disabled the sea-barriers the Filipinos had erected to save themselves from the very overnight strike that would overtake them. By then, with the Republican air force ruptured and their military and air bases decimated, the tiny Republican navy was quickly encircled by the various somewhat disorganized fleets the FDRD had scraped together. As 2:00 A.M. rolled by, the first Legions stepped foot on Luzonese soil. LCACs, guarded by fighters from above, dropped the vehicles necessary to ensure the Republic had a quick and painless death.
The sun dawned with the Filipino Democractic Republic of Daylam practically victorious.
