Czania a Democratic country?

Czania
05-08-2004, 00:18
The small speck on the map that is Czania declared earlier today that it will become a Democratic Socialist state. Even being so, every citizen has the right to vote. Voting is not mandatory.

Almost instantly, candidates wrestled with eachother (politically, of course) to become the first Chairman of Czania.

The tallied results showed 3 Candidates running for this position. These are:

Ex-Colonel Ivan Golonitz - This candidate, being an ex-Military Colonel, retired with honours, does, of course, stand strongly on funding the weak Defense system of Czania. Also high on his list are Military funding and technological advances within the areas of Nanotechnology and Cybernetics.

Sergei Donyavich - A businessman from Taryas, the capital of Czania. He aims towards expanding the name of the country he lives in, and establishing a firm economy based on marketing and trade. His main focus is making Czania a corporate haven.

Yuri Sayoz - The People's man. He looks to make Czania a place safe for children, increasing Social Services funding and establishing several 'Homes' for those in need.

Just say who you'd vote for. I may or may not choose to follow your choices ;D.

I'll put this as simple as I can GO SERGEI! The nation of Waylend would like to offer Sergei 250 lights with colorful turtles on them, Flash lights and otherwise.

The Commonwealth would like to welcome the nation of Czania to NationStates. We believe in free and open elections without outside foreign interferance through the proliferation of funds. Therefore, we will not be donating money to any one canidate. We will however, lend our moral support to Mr. Sergei Donyavich, and give a sum of $500,000,000 to Czania as a whole. We would also like to inquire to the possibility of an embassy exchange?

Good luck.

We are not going to interfere with your elections we will lend our support to Mr. Donyavich and his pro-business campaign. We would also like 875,000,000 Morathanian Dollars about 920,000,000 USDs. We hope to increase relations with your country as soon as possible.

TALLY UPDATE:

Because of lack of support, Yuri Sayoz has decided to retract his candidacy, and gives his best wishes to Sergei Donyavich, hoping for a bright future for both candidates, regardless of who wins.

Things are looking grim for the good Colonel. So far, he only has the support of two countries, the Emirate of Al-Revir and the Nation of Doomduckistan. The Colonel also counts 60 000 Revirian dinars, or 670 000 Czanian Myuri given to his cause, while his rival candidate, Sergei, has the support of:

The Nation of Waylend
The Commonwealth of Granzi
The Nation of Shildonia
The Federation of Morthania

and counts £250,000 Shildonian Pounds, and 250 colourful turtle lights.

The populace loves Sergei. Without even being in power, he has raised $1 420 000 000 USD, or 20 840 000 000 Czanian Myuri. Added to his platform is the bond between several nations, as he reveals Trade an Alliance proposals from such groups as the Federation of Morthania and the Commonwealth of Granzi.

He parades the streets at night, hanging his lit up Waylendian turtles far above, on lamp posts and cables. The crowds cheer him on along his way.

The people that follow Sergei are quiet and content businessmen, businesswomen, and most of the common population.

On the other hand, ex-Colonel Ivan Golonitz's followers are fanatical extremists, waging silent wars upon "Those who do not believe in the supremacy of Czania", quoth he last night in a Rally.

A decision is yet to be made.

VOTING DAY - August 6th

With an amazing 80% voter turnout, a staggering 4 million of-age voters show up at the booths. There is a clear distinction between the supporters of Sergei and the supporters of Ivan. People literally push others to get a better place in line, and several extra police squads have to be called in to stop the Extremists from attacking the Businessmen.

-------------------------------------------

The votes have been counted. Now all that remains is for the result of the vote to be announced by the Head of Staff.

Millions are gathered in front of a single metal stage from which a door is visible. As that door opens, the Head of staff exits, followed by the two candidates, who take positions beside the microphone.

The head of staff speaks into the microphone: "Your attention, please", she says in front of the millions of spectators and loads of news reporters and cameras. "The winner of this election has been decided, for the first time in Czanian history, by a democratic vote. This vote has been counted justly and in total honesty. And the winner of this vote is. . ."

The crows holds their breath. Not a noise is heard but the howling of the wind.

"Sergei Donyavich, by 1526 votes!". The crowd explodes, in cheering, in weeping, in great victory and bitter defeat. The Colonel, unexpectedly, bows to his opponent, shakes his hand, and leaves the stadium. Nothing is ever heard of him again.

Donyavich takes the microphone and says to everyone present: "Dearest Czanians. I cannot express my gratitude at having been elected. It is of my greatest pleasure to announce that, as my first act as Chairman, I look towards the Commonwealth of Granzi for trades and negotiations. Because of their recent jointure with another Commonwealth, negotiations with the ex-Emirate of Al-Revir have been postponed until we hear notice from their Queen. I beg of everyone to have a safe journey home."

OOC: Nice.

The Commonwealth of Granzi would be honored to begin negotiations over a possible diplomatic trade deal. Before this can begin, we ask for an embassy exchange with Mr. Sergei Donyavich. The Czanian embassy will be located in the heart of Granzi City, in the Diplomatic Quarter. The sector is nearby the administrative centers, including the Parliament Building, as well as numerous cultural attractions. In the construction of our embassy, we will employ local workers in order to boost the economy. May our nations blossom and prosper.

OOC: Heh. . thanks, I have some experience with RP forums.

IC: Sadly, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Czania has no glamorous administrative buildings to put an embassy next to, but we have put one in our famous Dozoyanoch Square, a place highly praised for its great historical value, as it is there where the great battle of Dozoyanoch occurred.

The Embassy will be put inside a ring of buildings, with a grand statue of Yoloz the Conqueror in the center.

We understand perfectly, and appreciate this as a token of peace. A Czanian delegation is hereby invited to the Diplomatic Center in Granzi City, where we hope that an agreement, trade or otherwise, can be agreed upon. We hope this will lead to better relations in the years to come.

Dearest Mr. Sun,

It is with great pleasure that I announce that, by the time you recieve this letter, I will be on a flight from Taryas city in Czania, in the West Pacific, to the city of Granzi, in the Tossier Alliance.

I come personally to arrange trade possibilities. As Czania is still a newly born country, we have little to offer, although we are told that we're the #4 producers of Soda Pop in the sector.

And yes, I know, Soda Pop isn't a great trader, and I laugh as I write this, but there are more. . . interesting trade offers available to you.

More on the matter will be discussed as I arrive at the Embassy.

Sincerely,
Sergei Donyavich

To: Chairman Donyavich
From: Shildonian Office for Foreign Affairs

Congratulations on your recent victory in your country's elections. I am sure I am not alone in hoping that our two nations can share a long and productive friendship. As a sign of this friendship, we would like to invite you to establish an embassy in our nation. The embassy would be located the diplomatic complex on the outskirts of Shildon, our capital city. The complex is far enough from the city to be in a pleasant countryside environment, but close enough to be only a 25 minute train journey from the city centre. Naturally your diplomats and their families will be issued with passes for free travel on the railway.
We would also like to invite you to make a state visit to Shildonia so that we can establish closer ties between our two nations.

Yours Sincerely,
Sidney Laws,
Shildonian Foreign Secretary

Dearest Mr. Laws,

I am currently engaged in trade negotiations with the Commonwealth of Granzi and am headed towards Granzi City as I write this. But, I have already sent word to my Chief of Staff to order immediate construction of a second embassy in Dozoyanoch Square, in honour of our Shildonian comrades. All immigrants are free to come and go, but they must first report to that embassy.

Wishing for a bright future within both our countries,
Sergei Donyavich

The Federation of Morathania would like to offer our congradulations on the election of Mr. Donyavich. We would also like to extend to your nation a proposal of an alliance and a trade agreement between our two countries. Morathania currently exports:
Cars
Electronics
Information Technology
Oil
Books
Watches
Uranium
Timber
Beef
Tungsten
Copper
Gold
Silver
Nitrate
We are very intrested in what Czania has to offer and we would like to hear a reply from the new government of Czania. Thank you very much.

Czania's economy is steadily rising thanks to several good choices made. As such, exports now include:

Soda Pop
Cars
[soon to be] Uranium

There are also a considerable amount of organs being donated.

The list is considerably smaller than yours, but the same goes for our two nations.

Hoping for a good trade agreement and alliance,
Sergei Donyavich
Chairman of Czania

OOC: Do you write all these down or is there a place where I can find a list of all my exports? Cause these are all I can remember.
Morathania
08-08-2004, 21:21
OOC: Just write them on a piece of paper. Thats how I do it. The other way would be to make a factbook for your country but of course that takes alot longer.

IC: The Federation of Morathania at this time does not see any sense in investing in trade between our nation. We currently do not have a need for any of those fine products made in Czania. What we would like to do is propose an alliance between our two great countries. I think that this will help both of our countries in this rough world.

Nathanial Sun stepped through the wide mahogany doors into and left the hustle and bustle of the airport. Facing him were several leather armchairs, arranged in a small circle, each one with a carved minature table beside it. A man clothed in formal livery stepped forward from the side bar, and offered a platter of drinks. Selecting a clear flute of Chardonay, the Foreign Minister stepped before a wall of glass. Looking out, he could just see the Czanian airliner touch down on the runway. As the doors clicked open again, Nathanial turned to see the Prime Minister approach, surrounded by his personal guards.

Terri Bolash was a meticulous man. After waving off his escort, the PM straightened his tie, before joining his Minister at the window. "Looks like they arrived, Nat." The Foreign Minitser swished his glass, and took a sip. "Yes, and the Czanian Chairman will be in attendance as well. Is the confernce to be held at the Diplomatic Tower, or has the Conference Center not been repaired yet?"

Bolash shook his head. "No, the restoration has fallen behind schedule, so the DT will have to do. They're almost done with the preparations." The plane outside connected with the walkway inside with a small thud. "Well, that's our cue to ready up." Nathanial placed his drink on a nearby table. Then both men walked to another set of wide doors, and waited.

OOC: Sorry for the delay.
