Separatists in the empire

GII International News

Good evening. I'm Stan Flather, with Generian International news. Earlier today, the province of Alberia issued a formal declaration of its intentions to separate from the Imperial union, citing 'economic and religious issues' as the reason for its pending secession. There have been rumors circulating for some time about an Alberian desire for independence, made stronger recently by the resignation of two Alberian senators, and an Alberian bishop. There has been a visible buzz in parliament today, the Imperial congress beginning one of its rare closed sessions. Although an official statement has yet to be made, it is widely believed that the government will not allow this separation, due to Emperor Alexei's stated beliefs in Imperial unity.

Alberia is a northwestern province with a largely agricultural economy, only recently beginning a campaign of industrialization. Alberia has in the past been a hotbed of discontent and localized terror...

Parliament emerged from a day long joint session today to announce their patiently awaited decision concerning Alberia. Chancellor Feador Alexeevich of the Imperial congress had this to say:

"The Imperial congress and the members of the senate have come to the conclusion that if Alberia decides to secede, the empire will oppose the secession by any means necessary. The Emperor has stated no intention to take military action as of yet, but if he does so, it is very likely that the houses will support his decision."

Although Chancellor Alexeevich did not go into detail on the debate that took up the better part of 16 hours, it seems clear that the majority of the members support the use of force in dealing with the problem.

Alberia finally issued a formal declaration of independence from the empire this morning, stating that they will 'fight the tyranny of the Imperium to the last man'. Emperor Alexei's response was quick, declaring his action to move into the province and 'forcibly return them to the union'. Here is a section of his speech, made outside the Imperial palace in Generia city:

"Citizens of the venerable Empire of Generia, today is indeed a tragic day. Our Alberian brothers have decided to turn their backs to us, cutting themselves off from the empire that has provided for them from the beginning. I am a firm believer in unity throughout my land, and I can not let this stand. I have authorized the deployment of our armies to that troubled land, to shepherd the Alberians back into the fold. We can not have our empire shattered by those that would make war on their brothers. For the preservation fo the union, and for the continued indeendence of Generia!"

The Emperor's speech was greeted by rousing cheers from those gathered. Parliament has convened for an emergency session to debate whether or not to oppose the use of force in the matter.

--00--

Senate President Alexander Nikolaevich walked into the loud chamber in the Generian parliamentary building. The scene was chaos. Angry senators shouted among themselves, and security was even forced to break up a fistfight between two senators from the western provinces. Nikolaevich stepped onto the platform.

"Gentlemen, Lend me your ears, please!"

The senators paid little attention, continuing their arguments like schoolchildren. Senate police eventually took charge, forcing the representatives towards their seats. The noise lessened to a dull grumbling.

"Senators, we have convened here at this ungodly hour to debate the legitimacy of Emperor Alexei's actions."

"Outrageous!" came a shout from the floor.

"Shut up you old fool!" came the quick response from another man.

Nikolaevich coughed gently, and continued with his speech.

"As you know, Alberia has issued its declaration of Independence, and the Emperor has authorized the deployment of the Imperial army to quell the situation."

"He's out of his mind!"

"What do you know about Alberia, Skavronska? You can barely tell your head from your a**!"

"Gentlemen, I must have your attention. The Emperor is expecting a quick vote, so that the delay of the armies will be lifted as soon as possible. Therefore, I will only allow the debate to proceed immediately. Senator Pyutr shall be speaking against the use of force. Senator, step forward. You have been alotted two minutes"

A short, bespectacled man stepped towards the floor to adress the congregation.

"Senators, it is in my oppinion that the Alberians are in no way deserving of the wrath of the armies of the empire. I believe that this secession is merely an act of protest, and could be solved easily through discussion with the leadership of the rogue province. If we send in the military, then we will only distance ourself from our Alberian brothers."

"Time. Senator Rurik, step forward."

A tall, burly, finely dressed man stepped forward.

"I see Alberia exactly as Pyutr here does." His statement was greeted by shocked gasps and loud booing. He continued to speak, over the noise of the dissentors.

"I see them as a rogue province! And we must deal with them accordingly. If we go soft on these rebels, than what will the empire become? You heard the Emperor's speech! We ned unity. Until these men are brought back to the empire, they are not my brothers, and neither are they yours, and the only way to remedy that is with the iron fist!"

Cheers resounded among his supporters.

"Alright, we must now vote on the matter. Vote aye, should you be in support of military action, or nay should you not be in support."

Within an hour the votes had been cast and counted. The result was a landslide 73 to 27 in favor of military action.

Duke Ivan Alexeovich stood on a low ridge overlooking two small Alberian towns. A cold wind blew over the plain and through his neatly groomed hair. To his left stood the Alberian foothills of the great Generian mountains, a barrier that seemed to represent the division between Generians and Alberians. To his right was the bleak vastness of the Generian steppe. As he stared, he pictured the mounted barbarians that once had rule over these lands. The cossacks who had been the bane of the medieval emperors of the small fiefdom of Generia. He looked back to the towns, and wondered if the rebels would fight with the same ferocity. Much blood had been spilled on these plains over the years, so much that there was always an air of dull horror about the place. Now, more blood would be spilled to consecrate the plains in this new era.

"Wastland," he said softly to himself. A man walked up the low rise, approaching the Duke from behind. His voice interrupted the man from his thoughts.

"Duke Alexeovich, the armies are preparing to move. It would be best if you were elsewhere when the battle starts."

"I will remain here. I want to have a clear view of what happens."

"Your lordship, it is in your best interest, and mine that you stay alive. The Emperor would not be pleased with me if he thought I was responsible for any harm done to his cousin."

"If I die, General, than I will explain to the Emperor that it was not your fault," the Duke said dryly. The General exhaled in frustration.

"I will send some praetorians to watch over you."

"Don't bother. Save them for yourself."

The General turned and walked off, obviously insulted by the nobleman's demeanor. The Duke returned to his thoughts, as he casually fingered the jeweled hilt of the sword that hung at his waste. Behind him, the roar of engines, and the rumble of treads could be heard. The tanks moved across the plains, waves around the island that was the Duke's hill, kicking up clouds of dust that masked the figure standing on the rise.

The Imperial soldiers marched behind the armor, towards the first of the two quiet towns. Near the ridge, several artillery units had been deployed. The guns were an emergency measure. The Emperor had specified that this was in no way a total war, and the cities and populace were to be left intact.

General Karamzin watched the movements of the army through binoculars from the top of a parked armored personnel carrier. He lowered the binoculars. Where was the resistance? Every report he had been given talked about a massive Alberian army somewhere along the borders. Surely they had seen them approaching. It was not hard to spot an armored division. The General spoke to himself as he puzzled the mystery.

"They should be right here..."

His voice trailed off as the still air was overtaken by a sound. The sound increased in volume until it was very clear what the sound was. General Karamzin watched the towns as a horde of men stepped from their hiding spots, onto the open plain. Karamzin lifted the binoculars again. The men were dressed in ragged uniforms, bearing emblems he could not quite make out. One of the men flew a tattered cloth, apparently bearing the symbol of the new Alberian state. The Alberian army stood, shouting, and hurling insults at the soldiers of the empire. General Karazin estimated their numbers at about 3,000. The army was not large, but neither was the Imperial army of 8,000 men. From the looks of it, the battle would be a massacre. The rebels had ventured into open ground with no air support or armored protection. Suicide. The General yelled down to the men in his command APC.

"Tell the army to engage. Kill 'em all, every last one of 'em."

The tanks opened fire, the shells decimating the rebels who stood in such close proximity. The Imperial soldiers let out a cry, and began charging towards the enemy army. The rebels turned, and ran back into the city, manning defensive positions, and fortifying buildings. They were not as stupid as they looked. It had been a show of force.

The Imperial soldiers reached the outskirts of the city, and were immediately set upon by machine gun fire. The Imperials struggled to find cover, as the bullets ripped into their ranks. The armor entered the streets, opening up on the defensive positions. As the machine gunners were suppressed, the Generian soldiers broke their cover and swept through the streets, breaking into fortified buildings to eliminate resistance.

Major Chekov Vanya rushed into the apartment building, followed by a squad of Imperial soldiers. They cautiously approached the stairs, and began making their way upwards. A man burst into the stairwell, firing wildly at the men, killing one of the Imperial soldiers. Vanya retaliated, putting a bullet from his rifle through the Alberian's throat. The men went through the rooms, searching for enemy soldiers. All they found were families huddled fearfully in the corner. Vanya walked into a room containing three small boys huddled around a sick man. They spoke in Alberian tot he soldiers. Vanya could not understand them, but they seemed panicked. He turned his head to call for an interpreter, and as he did so, one of the boys ran forward and slashed him across the chest with a hunting knife. The soldiers in the hall saw what had happened, and opened fire on the child. The bullet-riddled body was blown backward into the room. The 'sick' man rolled off of the bed, pulling a rifle from under the mattress. The two other children removed rifles of their own, firing at the two soldiers in the doorway. Captain Vanya lay bleeding outside the door. One of the others dragged him to safety, before tossing a grenade into the room. There were shouts followed by an explosion. In the smoke filled room, the mangled corpses of the man and his sons lay.

In the streets, the fighting grew fierce. The rebels would burst from cover, engaging the Imperial soldiers ferociously in close combat with handcrafted sabers. The Imperial soldiers responded by countering them with their bayonets, and the swords of the officers. As the body count steeped, the rebels saw the turning tide. They disengaged, and fled from the town, taking their wounded wit them. The Imperial soldiers gave chase, but General Karamzin halted them.

"We killed enough of them, and chances are, they have something waiting for us down that road. We'll lick our wounds for now."

--00--

The soldiers picked through the corpses, searching for their friends and their valuables. General Karamzin had set up a temporary headquarters in an old apartment building. He stood with his back to a prisoner who sat bound to a chair.

"Why are you fighting," he asked the man, almost rhetorically. The prisoner gritted his teeth in hatred. The General turned, and approached the man, putting his hands on the desk. The man retained his silence. Duke Alexeovich stepped into the room.

"Excellent work General! The Emperor will be pleased. They put up a fight, though."

"The Alberians are fighters. They have always been, since the days of the barbarian Cossacks," said the General, still watching the prisoner.

"So are the Generians. You proved that today. This secession will not last. You saw what we did here today. So did they. They are afraid."

"They killed eight hundred of my men."

"We killed most of theirs. Who is this?"

"One of them. A prisoner. A General, I think."

The duke approached the man, staring at him.

"Who are you," he asked the man. The man kept silent

"Ragged bunch, aren't they. Looks like he hasn't showered in weeks. The Duke moved his face close tot he Alberian's.

"I asked you a question."

The man spit in the Duke's face.

"Heretic pig," said the prisoner.

Alexeovich stood up, slowly wiping the saliva from his cheek. He looked at the man briefly, and then drew a small pistol, firing eight rounds into the man's chest.

"I can't abide rudeness, General. When a man asks a question, he expects an answer," said the Duke coldly. He replaced the pistol and walked out the door. He stopped before he walked out, turning his head to address the General.

"About the towns, burn them."

The General looked shocked.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me General. Raze them to the ground."

"But the Emperor-"

"I'm in charge of this little operation. You answer to me. Destroy the towns and everyone in them. You can never tell who might be hiding the knife that will go into your back."

The Duke walked out of the room. Within the hour, the Imperial soldiers had set the two small cities ablaze, and were marching onward, further into Alberia.

A few more questions: Are they Fascist?
What religous pursuits do they have?

((OOC: That is all to be covered as the story unfolds. Right now, no one is really sure why the Alberians seceded except the Alberians. I mentioned earlier that they were vague in their reasons. Primarily they are unhappy with the Church of Generia, and the constitutional monarchy itself.))

The nation of Turetel strongly wishes the Generic Empire to cease the killing of innocent civilians. It is in the best interest of the international community that fighting be kept against rebels.

IC: "These rebels could be potential allies, that is if they aren't Fascist, the senseless burning of the city and killing to the civilians that remained inside is not tolerated. Ready the Great Turetelian Green Fleet for patrol of that area and tell the 32nd Marine Brigade (6,000 men) that they might be helping the rebels, or the imperialist, I can't quite tell where this is going. Generia is made up of Bulgaria and Romania, the capital of Generia city being present day bucharest. I realise that others have claims to these lands, but I find a way to compromise if I run into trouble. Alberia is a northern province bordering Moldova, and the Black Sea. I also take liberties with geography. The barren Generian step is a good example. Think of Alberia as the Russian steppe, inhabited by descendants of Ukranian cossacks.))

Emperor Alexei was resting in his inner sanctum, the Hall of Generia. He was one of the few, along with his wife, who ever had the honor of entering the near holy chamber. He was disturbed by footsteps coming down the hallway outside. He stood up, turning to face the man who had entered the room.

"Chancellor Alexeevich, what do you ahve for me?"

"News, your grace. Duke Alexeovich sends his regards. The army has struck its first blow against the Alberians. Two towns lay in ruins, and the rebel army flees. He believes that they will be in the capital of Voldovitch in a matter of days."

"Why has he destroyed the towns? I told him this was not a war against the populace."

"He claims that the rebels were fortified, and the army could not break them. Apparantly this was the only answer."

"I hope Alexeovich speaks the truth in this matter. You may return to your duties Chancellor. Inform me of any new developments"

"Also, sir, the nation of Turetel has declared opposition to our tactics in quelling the secession. They may pose a problem in the future."

(OOC: I'll just play as Moldava then, it's part of my EII claim. Mind if I jump on the bandwagon? Most of the fighting I'll do will be on my own border with Alberia, if that's okay.)

IC:
In the small border town of Skulyany, the people walked throught the town market as they always had, picking out vegetables and freshly-baked bread to take home. They were aware that across the border, the Alberians were fighting the Generian government, but that all seemed so far away. Many of the women were waiting for their husbands to return home, as many had been called up almost a year earlier to fight in the Artican Civil War. A few had come home early, but most of these in simple pine boxes. Hopefully now the living would return, and they could carry on with their lives. Behind the nearby hill the over which the road to Generia came, a small dust cloud rose. A few villagers saw it, but they believed it to be just one of the few cars that came in and out of the town.
A few minutes later, just when any interest in the vehicle that had come over the top of the hill had dispelled, it pulled into the town. It was a dust brown jeep, with some kind of machine gun mounted on the back, and three men in it. One sat in the back, and when the jeep reached the town square, he stood up, and gripped the mounted gun. The villagers stared at the men, but were not too afraid, as Barrettan training missions frequently rode through the town. However, this lack of fear soon vanished when the man in the back swiveled the gun around and opened fire on the crowd surrounding him. People screamed and were torn apart by the large caliber rounds whipping through the mob. Those who tripped were trampeled underfoot, and bodies soon chocked the marketplace.
As the man on the gun swept the streets with a hail of fire, the man in the passenger seat got out, removed an RPG from the back, took aim at the clock tower, and fired. The rocket motor roared into life, took off, and smashed into the face of the large clock. the resulting explosion ripped the tower in half, and the top twisted and fell on the city hall, crushing many of the officials and people taking shelter inside.
As soon as the tower fell, the man slung the launcher into the back of the jeep, and hopped in. He tapped the driver on the shoulder, and the engine growled and they sped back up the road they came in on. The man in the back kept pouring rounds into the town until the jeep went over the hill, and then there was quiet. The only sounds to be heard were the crackling of flames in the ruins of the city hall, and the moaning and coughing of those wounded by the gunfire.
This was a scene repeated across the Barrettan-Generian border. The death toll from these attacks reached into the low thousands, and grew as rescuers pulled bodies from the ruins of homes, businesses, and public buildings. Government response was quick and decisive. The Grand Duke himself sent out a message to the people, saying:
"People of Barretta, today is a day of mourning. Out great nation was attacked without provocation by forces thought to be of the Alberian freedom movement. They will pay for their crimes. As soon as our troops return from Artica, they will be redeployed to the border, and vengeance will be ours. To the families of the dead and wounded, I offer my condolences. Your loved ones cannot be brought back, but we will bring those responsible to justice. Thank you."
Barrettan forces have mobilized, and will soon begin their war of revenge against the Alberian rebels.

A marine battalion supported by armor approached an Alberian city. An AH1W flew a recon patrol over the village, and confirmed the presence of weapons.
"I've got, three to four technicals, about a hundred guys, I think armed wth AKs and RPGs-"
WHOOOOSH
An RPG whizzed by the helo, narrowly missing it.
"Griffen two-six, get the hell out of there!" yelled Major Kowaski, commander of the battalion, into his radio.
"Affirmitave, pulling out."

The helo had almost cleared the city when it was stuck by an SA7. The helo was senrt spinning out of control, and crashed into a building. Miraculessly, the pilot survived. The same couldn't be said of his gunner, however. He got out of the downed Cobra, and cocked his P90. There was no way he would surender. It wasn't in the vocabulary of a Doomingslander. He toook up a defencive position in a pile of rubble, and awaited a rescue helo.

"Griffon two-six is down, repeat, Griffon two-six is down."

"Well, I suppose we'd better get him out of there." said the major. The LAVs and Abrams rushed towards the city, when they reached the outskirts, the marines dimounted and began to wreak havoc.

A platoon of marines quickly reached the crash sight, and were in the process of securing it when an angry mob began to form.
A corporal who spoke Russian got on a megaphone and ordered the crowd to desperse. They refused, and opened fire on the marine positions. Several men where wounded, and the marines fired into the crowd. The crowd charged the marines, but luckliy, an M1A2 arrived on scene and cut them down with its coaxial gun. The pilot was loaded into a HMMWV, and driven out. However, the marines were still determined to take the city.

Three 81mm mortars began dropping teargas rounds in heavily populated areas, and the marines swept through the areas with minimal resistance. Eventuay, they came to the last section of town, and began to come under heavy resistance.

Another Cobra flew in and strafed occupied buildings with rockets. By now, marines were fighting house-to-house with the enemy. Tanks arived on-scene and began shelling enemy positions. The city was finnaly taken, but a large group of rebels had managed to escape. They were being followed by helicopters and fighters.

Major Kowalski had been in the thick of the fighting, and set up a command post in a church. Several POWs were dragged in, and tied to chairs. It was time to extract some information...

The Imperial army marched along the dusty roads that criss-crossed the steppe. Several times during the march, soldiers had been caught off guard by an Alberian sniper, or roadside bomb, and so the soldiers were on their guard, scanning the horizon nervously for any signs of ambush.

Duke Alexeovich rode in the rear of a modified armored personnel carrier. He reclined lazily in an expensive throne-like chair, sipping from a wineglass. The vehicle hit a bump in the unpaved road, causing the contents of the glass to spill.

"Damnit! Be careful up there!" he yelled to the drivers. "Soldiers," he said distastefully.

Over a low ridge, a barely perceptible cloud began to form, dust trailing slowly over the hills and towards the advancing army. A soldier gazing idly in the direction of the mountains was startled by its appearance.

"Captain!”

Captain Nicholas Vilyarna approached the man.

“What?”

“There’s something over that ridge, sir.”

“It’s nothing. Probably wild horses or some other such nonsense.”

As the officer turned to return to the army, a fleet of technicals crested the ridge, barreling towards the army. Vilyarna turned in time to see the vehicles speeding across the plains.

“Incoming!”

The soldiers turned in shock to see the fifty pickup trucks heading straight for them. The men scattered as the vehicles drew closer. The soldiers opened fire, putting holes in some of the trucks. As they got within range, they opened up, spraying lead at the Imperial soldiers. A tire on one of the vehicles was blown out, sending it careening out of control. It flipped over, spilling its soldiers into the cold grass. The Imperial armor broke off from the main road, and rounded to flank their enemies. Several of the technicals diverged from the rest, heading straight for the armor. The tanks fired into the vehicles, flipping several. A good number of the trucks reached their targets, ramming the tanks head on and detonating the explosives that were packed inside the civilian vehicle, shattering the face of the tanks. Alberian soldiers jumped from the back of the trucks, opening fire on the Imperial soldiers.

Duke Alexeovich was thrown from his chair as a rocket propelled grenade slammed into the side of his APC. He climbed out of the disabled vehicle into the gray sunlight. The Alberians were closing the distance, attempting to engage the Imperials in close combat. The Duke watched a soldier run up beside him, and loose a rocket into one of the trucks. The vehicle exploded, sending its passengers hurtling into the air. Alexeovich pulled the Desert Eagle from inside his coat, and put his hand on the hilt of his ceremonial saber. He heard a noise behind him. Spinning, he fired two shots into the Alberian’s leg. Then drawing his sword, he severed the man’s head, letting it roll along, staining the dusty ground. He wiped the blood from his hands and sword on the clothing of the dead man, and found cover beneath an overturned Ural truck.

The Imperial forces had organized themselves, and were succeeding in repelling the relatively small number of Alberians. The surviving technicals were now in full retreat, with their passengers running haplessly after. The fleeing soldiers soon became sniper fodder, however, and bullets ripped through the backs of their skulls.

Duke Alexeovich crawled from his hiding place, dusting himself off. He spotted General Karamzin, and approached him.

“You told me the road was clear, General.”

“No one saw that one coming, your grace.”

Imperial Palace, Generia City

Chancellor Alexeevich entered Emperor Alexei’s office.

“You bring news of the war, Alexeevich?” asked Emperor Alexei.

“Our army has been ambushed several times while traversing the steppe. We believe that an organized group of Alberians may be operating from a camp in the wasteland. We have garnished much support in the war. Our allies in Doomingsland are operating in Alberia as we speak, and Turetel has deployed a fleet to assist us. Also, Alberian freedom fighters have been harassing Baretta along the Moldovan border. We are not sure of the motive for their attacks.”

“I already know everything that you tell me, Chancellor, but you have more to say. Tell me about parliament.”

“The war is losing popularity among the senate. The Generian people still back you, as does the Imperial congress.”

“Control that situation, Chancellor. You serve well. The Empire will reward you greatly.”

"So, why did you shoot down my helicopter?" the major asked one of his prisoners. He just looked back in contempt.
"Not a talker, eh? I can fix that." He drew his Colt .45 and pointed it at one of his comrades.
"Now your gonna tell me exactly what I want to know. Who is your leader?"
"I don't know!"

"Forward this to intel immediatly."

"Yes, sir." said the warped voice of the marine private. It was warped becuase of the voice system in their helmets(they're wearing special combat armor).

"Thank you for cooperating. The empire forgives you of your crimes."

While he was saying that, five marines entered the room from a door behind the prisoners. The men came within point blank range, and shot each man in the back of the head with their XM8s. There could be no witnesses. The bodies were burned afterwords, and the generator was destroyed. No evidence survived the incedent except for the marines who participated. They wouldn't say anything, even under torture. Other prisoners were recieving fair treatment, and civilians were promptly returned to their homes. The battalion left the city, but left a company outside in camoflauged postions to moniter if any rebels returned.

"I am sorry Commander, but that would be..."
"Times up." Takes out a 9mm SA pistol and lets one into his right leg and left hand.
"Dam*!"
"I need a medic, and some security for our friend here."

...

The Turetel Attack Multi-purpose (TAMP's) opened up fire with their 320mm cannons, crushing the coastal city bit by bit. As the marines started to land, it was obvious that the Commander had made the right choice shooting the Capt. Light resistance on the coastal areas, several fled machine gun nest, not needed, and destroyed encampments. The estimated death toll was around 70 men.

Marine 1st Lt. Watson stepped into a small square of buildings, he remembered his days hunting rabbits, even the slightest movement caught his eye. Thats when he say it, and stumbled backwards, a tank, they actually had a tank here. He grabbed his Balkan Destroyer (A Multi-Purpose Gun, Only useable for 10 Rounds of Anti-Tank/3 RPG's, and 30 Rounds of 9mm Shots-weighs a bit). He shot two shots at it before freezing, he looked to his right in a small ally, another tank. Then he slumped down, riddled with bullets.

"My god get me some cover-fire, we have tanks, two or three I think!"
"Alright Capt. Thrill, 5 rounds of armor piercing shots coming your way."
Just as soon as he said this five sea to surface missiles hit dead on their assumed targets, and destroying the housing all-around it.

It took the marines 4 hours to secure the city and push the rebels to city limits, before digging in for a possible counter-attack. It came at midnight, was repulsed leaving 3 Marines dead and nearly 30 Rebels. The total death toll for the day was less enjoyabled: 145 Rebels Dead - 38 Wounded - 7 Captured - 1 Surrendered ::: 18 Marines Dead - 57 Wounded - 3 MIA

Similar stories occured in other towns with other battalions. The divisions linked up for their final push to the rebel capital. The intel was forwarded to the Generian government(without telling them the methods used in acquiring them), in the hope that they would have a file on the bishop.

The 1st Armored, one of the most highly decorated divisions in the hitory of Doomingsland, would be spearheading the drive towards the capital. Eventualy, they got within twenty miles of the capital, and the artilery opened fire. Around 6000 shells and rockets fell on the capital within the first three hours alone, targetting government buildings and barracks. Teargas shells were fired on the civilian population to prevent an uprising out of the city. The main body closed in on the outskirts...

OOC:GE, make one of those cool posts of yours with stuff blowing up in the rebel capital, hehe.

Meanwhile, a platoon of Doom Legionaires(SFs) arrived at the suspected town were the bishop was hiding. They stayed hidden while orders came in...

As the 6th Motor Rifle Division reached the border, men hopped out of the APC's, tanks buttoned up, and safeties were clicked off. The steppes may have been fairly flat, but the Barrettans were wary of an ambush. They had heard about what happened to the 2nd and 3rd Divisions in Artica, so they walked alongside their vehicles, and watched for any movement. Hours passed, and a small village finally came into view. Maps charted it as Stefanesti, and intel thought it to be a rebel staging point.
The tanks entered the town first. The T-90s rolled into the main square, the BMPs and infantry following them. The streets were devoid of life; no one came to welcome them, and yet no one came to throw rocks at them either. The Barrettan officer leading the spearhead called back to the main column to halt and form a perimeter around the town. He then turned to his staff and said, "Get on the squad radio to A,B,C, and D platoons, and get them to start clearing the buildings surrounding the square. We'll work from there. And someone find me that d@%-" He was cut short as a rocket slammed into his BMP, blowing out the side track and killing the 2 soldiers standing nearest the tank. He traced the smoke trail back to a nearby building. His crew rotated the turret on their BMP and put a 100mm shell through the facade, collapsing it. Gunfire opened up around the square, mowing down Barrettan soldiers who panicked at first. Those men who were veterans quickly found cover and began to return fire.
Some of the T-90s parked in the center took hits from RPGs, but their armor was so thick, the rockets only scratched the paint. In return, the tanks unleashed a roaring salvo that blew out many of the nearby buildings. Commanders got up in their cupolas and started raking the rebel positions with .50 caliber rounds, and a Barrettan ZSU-23-4 Shilka rolled out from behind a building. It leveled its cannons and razed every building for 100 feet in every direction before a Alberian RPG tore its radar system off and damaged 2 of the cannons. Slowly the Alberian fire slackened, and Barrettan troops started to spread out into the town.
Casualties were high, as Alberian soldiers would hide inside buildings that were occupied by innocent civilians and throw grenades out of windows onto the infantry as they attempted to enter. Eventually, the Barrettan soldiers gave up on saving the civilians, and called in a couple of the new T-55 mounted flamethrowers. They torched the bottom floor of every building, and threw phosphorous grenades into the upper floors before clearing it.
After 2 grueling hours of urban combat, the entire town had been cleared. A few rebels had been seen attempting to flee, but precision free-flight rockets had annihilated those few groups. The Barrettan casualties stood at 29 dead, 40 wounded, and 1 MIA, a Barrettan captain. Estimates placed rebel dead at over 200, with no wounded left alive. 5 POWs were taken to divisional headquarters, now in the city hall of Stefanesti. They would be interrogated ruthlessly by intelligence officers who knew exactly what they were doing and what they were looking for. The screams of the POWs echoed through the night air, comforting many of the soldiers who knew or were related to those killed in the attacks on Barretta.
That same night, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Motor Rifle Divisions docked at an undisclosed Barrettan port. The officers of the divisions knew they were going to be redeployed, and had told the men. On transport L45C, two officers were talking on the deck of the ship. One looked at the orders he had just gotten and said, "Thank God there's still plenty of Barrettan nationalism. In some other countries I've been to, a redeployment like this would cause all hell to break loose."
"Yeah, I know," said the other. "I wanna go home just like every other poor sunnuvabitch in this army, but there's definately a sense of pride here. All right, the sooner we get these tanks rolled off, the sooner we all go home."
All through the night, soldiers and dock workers alike carried crates of weapons, drove tanks off the transports, and got the troops moving towards Generia. The Alberians were about to feel the full fury of the Barrettan Army, and Generia could have them back when Barretta was through, what was left of them anyways.

Voldovitch, Alberian capital

Duke Alexeovitch stood in the middle of the windswept plain outside the capital, watching the fireballs crest into the night. The army of Doomingsland was close, but the Duke was not going to let them have all the fun. The Duke began to move towards the army, where several artillery pieces and MLRSes were being set up for use in the bombardment of the capital. No matter what the Emperor said about reducing civilian casualties, this was total war now. The Alberians had offended, and so they would pay. The rockets burst forth into the sky, and the guns thundered. The missiles struck their targets with deadly effectiveness. A skyscraper toppled over as a shell rammed into its side. There was shouting among the ranks, and the armor began to move forward. APCs and T-80 and 90 tanks advanced on the city, blazing so brightly in the darkness. Overhead, the thunder of rotors was heard as fleets of Mi-24s moved over the plain towards the city. The tactics of the great civil war were about to be repeated.

A squadron of old Mig-27s screeched over the steppe, streaking towards Voldovitch. The aircraft moved in fast and low, releasing a payload of unguided and incendiary bombs on the city.

In the streets, both citizens and soldiers took cover from the rain of death. The war was all around them, the threat of destruction as palpable as tar. The Empires were advancing, and all the furies of hell came with them.

General Doom watched the artilery and rockets raining down on the capital. He had gotten word that Generian reinforcements had arrived just a few minutes earlier. Right now, he was deciding weather to completely flatten the city, or to take it intact. He was sure he could rely on the Generians for CAS, but kne that the aircraft they operated where inferior to the ones he could call. It would take several hours for the JSFs to arrive, and he didn't feel like waiting.

"I want the 1st Armor to move into the city, the marines can come in on their left flank, and the 3rd Inf. can come on their right. I want them to push right into the heart of the city. Kill all who oppose us."

"Yes, sir, transmitting orders." came the almost robotic voice of his aid.

Within ten minutes, nearly 100,000 elite soldiers and marines where pouring into the city, killing everything that seemed threatening. They managed to secure a foothold in the city, and platoons where dispatched for search and destroy ops. Most of them where supported by M1A2s, LAV-25s, or Bradleys.

One platoon came to a suspicious looking square.
Lt. Jonson, sommander of the platoon, believed there would be an ambush.

"OK, I want those buildings there and there destroyed, and I want the men o sweep through the rest. Afterwords, I want the LAV to move into the middile and sweep 'em up." came his warped voice.

"Affirmative, sir. Calling for close air support." replied his radioman.
"This is Baker-two-niner, requesting close air support at grid coordinates alpha-alpha three-five-delta."
"Affirmative, baker, CAS on the way, tell your boys to get down." came the voice of a Generian pilot.
Minutes later, a MiG27 flew low over the buildings and released two incindiery bombs, leveling the target buildings. By then, the Marines had cleared their assinged buildings of hostiles, of which there where a few, and the LAV drove right into the square. It immediatly came under fire from an old DSHK machinegun, and returned fire with its 25mm cannon, leveling the building it was in.

The same thing occured in other plazas throughout the city.

The newly arrived Barrettan I Corps formed a long line along the Barrettan-Generian border before crashing across it like a wave. The 6th Motor Rifle Division was left behind, as they had suffered the heaviest casualties from clearing the towns by the border. Almost 80,000 Barrettan troops and their supporting equipment rolled into northern Alberia, flattening any town that resisted, and leaving the towns that didn't intact. In one particular village that hid over 250 rebels, two Motor Rifle Divisions combined their artillery strength, and pounded the town for over 3 hours with more than 500 guns. By the time Barrettan troops entered, there were only three unbroken bricks in the entire village. As Barrettan troops pushed further and further into Generia, intel showed that they were only a few dozen kilometers from Generian and Doominglander positions. So the order to halt went out, and the Barrettans watched warily as dust clouds rose on the horizon.

Back in the Barrettan capital, the High Council was deciding how best to pay Generia for the damage caused by the Barrettan invasion. No one seemed to agree on any idea, and arguments soon sprung up between individual ministers. After banging to order, Grand Duke Aurel Constantin Ilie made a proposal that passed without any dissenting votes. That same hour, a message went out to the Generic Empire:

"Good Neighbors of Generia,
We wish you well in this time of conflict, and hope your insurrection has nearly ended. As you must know, Alberian fighters attacked many of our border villages early in their campaign. We responded in kind by engaging their staging points, and destroying any logistical support they had. However, in doing so, we damaged your nation's ability to recover after the rebellion. We sincerely apologize for this. After the fighting comes to a close, Barretta will pay for any injuries to Generian soil or people by our own military. We leave it to you to calculate the final cost of our response. Thank you."

Through-out the night the same story was reported, light coastal resistance some Anti-Naval Guns but that was about it, until one small bay city...

The 72nd Task Force Entered to a barrage of 420mm Cannons, immeaditly the flagship was destroyed, as well as the medical ship, and the aircraft carrier badly damaged. As overloaded Osprey helicopters were trying to get off the ships a marine platoon that had left in an old PT-109 Boat had opened up fire upon the positions, until what looked like a hole from a 420mm hit were they were. Nearly 500 Naval Men (498) died in this operation and 3 ships lost and 7 badly damaged. The order came to level the entire city, neraly 50 planes flew and dropped 1,000's of 50-lbs. bombs, trying to hit key targets. The city was secured, as was most of what-ever coast was inhabited.

The 2nd Army Division was already advancing to another major city inland, about 110 miles off the coast (or thats what some maps show). The 3rd Marine Company is heading to help General Doom out with whatever he needs...

Over the steppe the armies of the empire surged. The spirit of the cossacks lived in the men, although their horses replaced by battle tanks and armored personnel carriers. The tanks reached the outskirts of the blazing city. They fired into building, sending them toppling over, crushing rebels in the street, and destroying those who sought cover indoors. Overhead the artillery continued to fall, decimating the center of the city.

Major Chekov Vanya leaned against the fuselage of the Mi-24, watching the battle unfold below. The rebels on the ground opened fire on the helicopter. Major Vanya huddled closer to the fuselage, trying to avoid death. He clutched an AKM tightly in his hands. The aircraft bega to shudder and move sporadically. It began to spin wildly and descended towards the ground. Vanya braced himself.

A few moments later, Vanya found himself being dragged from the wrecked chopper by another of the aircraft's passengers.

"Get up, major. We can't stay here. Those Alberians are gonna be all over this place in a few minutes."

The soldiers handed Vanya a rifle, and the two survivors took off down an alley.

Captain Peter Barynik jumped from the door of another Mi-24 elsewhere in the embattled city, firing into the horde of Alberians that scurried through the streets. Overhead, the guns of other helicopters cut the rebel soldiers to pieces. Captain Barynik organized his men, and chased the fleeing soldiers towards the center of the city. The bombs continued to rain down.

-Private Matty and Private Jones fell far from the drop zone into a rebel market place. A machine gun (60 Caliber) opened up on their sand-bag position, radioing for help as they lobbed 4 FRAG's into the area, thinking they silenced the machine gun Private Matty stood up and lost his life instantly. Private Jones, had wheeled around as the Gunner focused on the dead friend and position and unload 2 Clips of M4 into the area of the machine gunner. At around this time a lightly armoured tank appeared and thinking the machine gunner was still his own started passed it. Private Jones still thinking the tank was his snapped to attention and blew it to bits.

Alberia stretches from Dorhoi to Galati. Lasi is the location of the capital of Voldovitch. Again, I take a lot of liberties with terrain. The city you attacked is probably Galati.

As the 99th Armoured Brigade neared Braila they sensed that something was wrong, some trenches that they easily traveled passed heightened the sense. The Clovian Platoon that was accompaning the 99th contained 40 Demolitions (30 with M136 anti-tank guns and 10 with high-powered explosives) and a squad of 8 Riflemen and 1 Support. As the 99th Armoured began its sweep on the right with 8 tanks and central assualt with 21 tanks it begin to take Flak damage from a concealed position. Immeaditly the abandoned trenches housed the Clovian Platoon as it tried to cover its self and give the tanks coverfire. With a blind shot a tank hit a gas line connected to the city causing a massive explosion, and the opening of a fearsome sight. An opposing tank company, recently purchased, the most advanced models started to advance, shooting armour piercing rounds into the lead tanks. The order was quick, fall-back. Quickly it became a choatic scene as not only were tanks charging but also 1,000's of opposing men. The group of C-Company quickly made an assessment of the situation, Support and Rifle give a base of coverfire for men to fallback into better positions, also for the Demolitions to get a few Anti-Tank rounds off. The Left Tank Column though kept moving ahead, and opened fire upon Clovian Positions, thinking they were rebels. Now pinned down by both Rebels and Friendlies the Clovian Forces dashed madly for any cover at all, now in the wide open. The tanks were only 200 yards away now and the left column destroyed. Air-support was out of the question, to close were allies and enemies. An osprey helicopter hit the ground, close by the Clovian Co. and they saw two dead rebels, and better yet, 90 Caliber armour piercing rounds. One of the Demo's jumped up and put down the badly needed base of coverfire. The charging rebels, tried to hide behind the tanks, but found it hard as they already were 70 yards away from them. A mortar round begin to drop from one of the Demolitions Teams, hitting tanks, rebels, and a few buildings. Now not only were the 99th Armour official out of the range of the tanks, but they had left Clovian Company with low rations and low ammunition. Also in the confusion the no one noticed that the seemingly quiet area now had 3 or 4 tanks in the rear that launched rounds into the position. Clovian Company kept the base of fire up long enough for the next group that was able to hit the next set of trenches to give them cover fire. Almost instantly one of the 4 rear tanks hit a trench and started to fire randomly at the ground, crew probably dead. The infantry having resumed their charge was closer then ever, only 25 yards away from the new position. The man in the downed Osprey was still spraying shots into the crowd. In all the chaos the Clovian Company slipped away with 1 MIA and 17 wounded, no dead.

"Blasted, those funds that the rebels recieved are going to getting better everything! Those tanks were nearly top-of-the-line. We were not only chased out, but also lost nearly 1/2 a million dollars in this operation. The city has been ordered to keep intact and we can't very well bomb it!"
"General Wilson, calm down, we can do this with a small SOT (Special Operations Team) group going in, planting charges on the tanks at night, and then remotely detonating them."
"Alright Commander Charles, you can send in your SOT, I want everyone to come back in one piece though, and I want those tanks gone!"

"Bravo one, this is Delta Niner, shattered sword, repeat, shattered sword."
"Affirmative, delta. Shattered sword confirmed."

Minutes later, all of the artilery was concentrated on the areas with the most opposition. The areas were completely flattened to the ground.

The soldiers and armor poured into the destroyed sections of town, finding minmal resistance. They killed whatever moved.

The city had finnaly been taken, the casualties were fairly high for the Doomingsland forces: 49 dead, 123 wounded. 5 Bradleys, 3 LAVs, and 19 HMMWVs were also destroyed. There where no MIAs thanks to the tracking devices imbedded in the men's battle armor.

Voldovitch, Capital of Alberia

The Imperial forces were wearing down the rebels. They had broken through their barriers, and were storming towards the centrer of the city, where the rebel commanders and their army had gathered to make a final stand. They sat entrenched, waiting with guns trained on the empty streets. Suddenly a great rumbling was heard over the noise of the artillery fire. Hordes of Imperial soldiers poured through the streets, flooding into the town center, signifigantly widened by artillery explosions. The rebels opened fire. The commanders of theEmperor's army drew steel, leading their men towards the position. The blood of the cossacks boiled over, and the warcrys of hundreds of governments, empires, and clans were heard in the fading night. The Imperial forces hit the fortifications, smashing themselves upon the rock of the Alberian defense. The Alberians drew their own sabers, and the bloody final battle of Voldovitch commenced.

Major Vanya and the other survivor of the crash of their aircraft met the charging imperials, hurling themselves over the low stone wall that the rebels took cover behind. A large Alberian man reared up before Vanya, bringing a sword above his head. Vanya cracked him in the stomach with the butt of his rifle, then drawing a knife, stabbed the man through the kidney. The body fell onto the ground. Vanya picked up the man's saber, and charged for the guns. The barrels of the mounted machine guns blazed, cutting the ranks of friend and foe alike. Vanya leapt into the air like a panther, bringing the sword down on the neck of a gunner. The man's head fell severed from his body by the cossack's sword. Vanya went to work on the other gunners, slicing limbs and splitting abdomens left and right. The rebels surged towards the rear of their makeshift fort, firing their rifles until the ammunition was dry. Then came the tanks. Armored beasts crashed through the side of the fortification, sending the rebels to their grave under their treads, or driving them into the Imperial army. Heads rolled, and the screams of combat were heard as the last of the Alberian army in Voldovitch fell to the bloody hands of the Empire.

When the last corpse had fallen and the last bullet fired, the air went deathly silent, save for the panting of exhausted warriors. Suddenly, a man hefted a head into the air, the head of an Alberian General. The silence was broken by the cheering of the Imperial forces. The capital was their. The rest of Alberia would soon follow.

After laying waste to the capitol, the Doomingsland forces where preping to pillage and burn the rest of Alberia. The army mounted there vehicles, and drove at breakneck speed through the country side.

One company was assigned to take and hold a small village, Vladigrad (yes, I made it up).

The village appeared queit, but that silence was broken when three 81mm mortars began dropping teargas rounds on the population in order to subdue them. The armor rushed in, encountering no resistance. The men dismounted, and swept through the gas-ridden city, finding several weapons caches, and a few rebels guarding them, who where taken prisoner. There was also a religious man among them, who refused to talk. He wasn't tortured due to the fact that Doomingsland is a Christian nation, and would never harm a man of God.

He was quickly handcuffed, and placed aboard a UH60, and flown to the regional Generian HQ.

OOC:Generia, did you see the vote I put before the council?

((OOC: Yes I did. I posted a message about the spoils of the conflict, if it happens.))

Duke Alexeovitch made his way across the rubble, heated from the amount of explosives and napalm dropped on the city. Soldiers had to move quickly over these areas, to avoid the soles of their boots melting. The Duke approached General karamzin, who was looking coldly at the ruins of the city.

"So much death..." said the General.

"Wonderful, isn't it?" said the Duke, startling Karamzin from his rhetorical thoughts.

"Your grace, Doomingsland has begun to pillage and burn the countryside."

"Let them. They deserve the spoils of war."

"This was not supposed to be total war."

"Things change, General. Are you losing your stomach for war? If so, there are plenty of others willing to inherit your position, and your paycjeck."

The General turned on Alexeovitch, socked and enraged.

"This is not war! This is massacre!"

"General, do you know what Rome did when a province or a people rebelled against their authority? They scorched the land. Burned, raped and pillaged everything they saw, and then when it was over, they salted the Earth so that nothing would grow for man years, as a reminder to the survivors of who had power. In Alberia, this is also the case. As she rebels, so she shall pay, and any who think otherwise may deal with me."

The Duke partially drew his saber.

"Now, General, have your men disperse tot he countryside. As the victorious, they shall have their way with these people."

The holy man, after being recieved at the Generian regional command, was transported by helicopter to GII (Generian Imperial Intelligence Agency, not related to Generian Imperial International News agency) headquarters in Generia City. He was recieved by several agents, security forces, and Ivan Cac himself. The bishop was led to the subterranean portion of the building, where the holding cells, and special interrogation chambers were located. He was forced into a small white room, with fluorescent lights and a two way mirror. Ivan Cac stepped in, accompanied by a security guard. He sealed the solid steel door behind him, and got to work with the interrogation. He did not want to use direct torture methods, but if necessary would use indirect methods, that complied with the law.

((OOC: I will do a full interrogation in a bit, because I have to run for a few minutes. Doom, if you want to have some personnel there to ask questions, feel free.))

Lt. Jakob Stoner of FIGS (foreign intellegence gathering service), sat in the interrogation chamber with his Generian collegues. Unlike most Doomingslanders, he actualy had a sence of humor, which helped in showing the vulnerability of prisoners. He had much experience in interrogation from interrogating captured Red Dragon terrortists. This would be different. He, like every other Doomingsland citizen, was a Catholic, and wouldn't PHYSICALLY harm the bishop. He could, however, ask the questions, and allow his Generian collegues to carry out the dirty work. He was dressed in camo fatigues (USMC MARPATs), and stood up next to the prisoner.

"We'll start off easy. What's your name? What's your quest? What's your favorite color?"

The bishop looked puzzled.

"Didn't see that movie, eh? Oh, well. Just tell me your name."

Silence.

"Oh, come now, you don't want me to have to resort torture do you? Its a simple question. Answer it!"

More silence.

"OK, then, I'll let my friends deal with you..."

"NO!"

"OK, then, answer the question."

"I am Bishop Vasnetsov."

"I'll leave it to you guys to take it from here, I'm sure you must be sick of us having to catch your criminals for you..."

Ivan Cac paced slowly around the bishop's chair. He was seated in front of a small metal and plastic table.

"Father Vasnetsov. It's been a long time, and from the looks of it, you've been busy. I hear you are unhappy with the church. That doesn't mean you could not have simply practiced a different religion. This is not Spain, father."

The bishop sat in meditative silence.

"I need to know a few things. First, I want a list of all of your agents, terrorists, and officials operating in the empire, Alberia included."

The bishop maintained his silence, ashmed at having revealed his name to his captors.

"Don't wanna talk, eh? I didn't think so. As I am sure you are aware, we have ways of making you talk. Methods our friends in the Mossad taught us. Captain! Take father Vasnetsov here, and show him what we do to our uncooperative friends."

The soldier led the silent holy man away, deeper into the building.

Slightly OOC: Just so you know and we don't have a lot of mixups, Generia, Barrettan troops are holding all the land up to about 20 km inside your border from Dorohoi to Husi, with a bulge around Iasi (we didn't want to mess with your final fight).

IC:
As the capital of Alberia fell, and Barrettan headquarters got the news, the generals decided now would be a good time to pull out. The next stage for the Generic Empire would be reconstruction, and Barretta had no wish to become embroiled in a fight like that. So all 6 of the Motor Rifle Divisions made an about face and headed back for the border. Air missions of Alberia immediately ceased, and the coastal patrol craft of the Navy returned to their regular routes.

Meanwhile, in the capital, the Barrettan government sent a message to the Generians informing them that as soon as they had a chance to survey the damage done, they could specify the amount needed to rebuild the region.

The men led the terrorist to a small stone cell. The furnishings were a metal pipe running from floor to ceiling, a small chair, and metal shackles. There were two large interrogation specialists waiting in the room. One was grinning.

"I trust you can make him more willing to cooperate?" said Cac to the men.

"Of course. A few days with the Shabeh technique, and he'll sing like a bird."

The men walked forward to recieve the bishop, closing the iron door behind them.

Several days later, the two brought the bishop up to an interrogation room, the same one from before. Cac was waiting. The man was covered in bruises, and marks from shackles. He looked weak, chilled, and sleep deprived.

"After three days, he begged to get out," said one of the men.

"Excellent. Put him in that chair."

The chair was turned with its back to the table. The bishop was made to sit in the chair, and his arms were forced behind his back and upwards, and held onto the table, causing intense pain. One of the interrogators sat on the table, applying pressure tot he man's shoulders with his feet, forcing his body to slant forwards.

Cac turned to one of the Doomingsland interrogators.

"Shabeh has proved very effective for the Israelis in combatting Palestinian terror. When we do not want to resort to direct, and more bloody methods, we employ this one quite effectively. Agents Stoyanovich and Ilyich here are prodiges, masters of their trade. The mossad itself has given them commendation on their work."

The bishop yelped as the interrogator forced him forward.

"Alright! I will talk!"

The man released pressure from the bishop's shoulders.

"Go ahead," said Cac.

"You already know why we seceeded. Your church is an affront to God himself!"

the interrogator forced his feet down again. The bishop gasped. The man released pressure.

"I will make you a list of my operatives."

"Excellent. If we find that the list is false, then we will use other methods, far less pleasant than these."

The bishop drew up a list. It was not false. A total of sixty operatives were rounded up within a day, to stand trial before the Imperial Congress. They were all convicted and hung. Across Alberia, the movement was broken quickly. The Alberian government was located and destroyed. Two former senators were among the men running the fledgling government. Both took their own lives.
Turetel

Along the country side, the Turetelian 74th Army was graced with the task of taking large amounts of surrendering prisoners. They were hustled into camps heavily guarded, and all were warned that those who even tried to attempt escape would be made an example...

At 3am a small band of 50 or so Rebels tried a prison breakout for their friends, killing 2 Marines and 1 Infantry unit in the process it was determined that many "rebels" tried to leave. Head of Forces Jackson McAbb was at the camp where this happened, roughly 45,000 rebels had turned themselves in to this camp alone, total numbers were around 115,000 and already some were going to Generic Empires courts. The lead rebel that was captured (a Col.) was obviously deeply disturbed at what had happened.

"Col. why did you try and break your men and women free, you knew our terms, now some will pay."
*The Col. spits into Jacksons face.
"Asst. Head of Forces get me 30 men, all with pistols, and you should know the men I am talking about."
"I am sorry my dear Col. but you and "all" of your men are no longer needed to be found guilty of treason to Generic Empire, I have already giving you the sentence. I see we have your wife and 3 children, more like young men, I hope you know you brought this upon yourself."

Jackson takes out his Balkan Pistol," I'll tell you what, you tell me if anymore rebels are coming and I won't kill your children."
Col. laughs," I know you would not harm a civilian, you were once a diplomat."
"Yes, sadly before that I was SOT and SOT-A. I killed destroyed, sabotaged what ever I was told. I have yet to forget those days."
He whips around and forces the boy to his knees (17 year old), shoots once in the back of the head.
"You monster, your godforsaken monster you..."
Jackson does that same another son (21years old).
"Wait, I'll talk, I'll talk!"
"Ah, see Col. your wife may just have saved 45,000 people from a massive punishment."
"The men, they are on these locations..."
"Thank you madam, you are now to be handed over to Generic Empire Judical System, an Osprey will take your husband the Col. and you their. Your son will face the wrath of the Turetelian Court Systems. Not our civil one though, our military has a nice, fair system."
As the Osprey began to lift off, the execution of the last son and 5,000 other rebels known to be "soldiers" commenced. No expected civilian would be killed unless ordered to do so by the Generic Empire.

On podium in front of remaining 40,000 "rebels"," Do not bring pain to each other, we know whom you love and cherish, and we are willing to do what ever it takes to destroy them for security. The terms were agreed on by the suspected Commander of the Sector for you Rebels, also being flown in the Osprey over head, also a special treat to the 45 Rebel Attackers, look to your west and watch what proved to be a small band of 300 in that forest become what they deserve."
At that moment ICBM from the Turetelian Flag Ship Clovis slammed into the forest, craters, big craters.

OOC: Sorry if this is a little to bloody, but they got what was coming for disobeying terms from a Commanding Officer (Rebel) and Diplomatic Ties.

OOC: Good idea Generic, we will talk terms after this war has officially ended.

TO: Emperor Alexei, Generia
FROM: Chairman Ilsuo Santite, Sdaeriji

Greetings once again from the Imperial Dominion. I believe congratulations are in order. My intelligence chairman tells me that the Alberian capital has been decimated and the rebel movement crushed. This is truly a glorious end to a dark chapter in your magnificent nation's history. Now begins the rebuilding phase. It is my hope that you will not forget the generosity the Imperial Dominion has shown you as you begin reconstruction projects in the war torn regions. This is by no means to be construed as a threat, but simply a request that you remember Sdaerijian companies as you look to rebuild your nation. And again, once things have settled down in your nation, I eagerly look forward to a personal meeting between the two of us. Thank you for your time, your Eminence.

((OOC: God, Turetel, you killed his kids in front of his eyes? No one deserves that. Twisted...))

Not really, its a play on his eyes, what we do is make them talk by making something look like it happens, we can't kill kids, children, or innocents. Same with the other 5,000 rebels, only moved to other camps. The comment that Jackson said, bring 30 men with pistols, you know who, meant those with sedatives. It looks like that person died, but only due to a fake blood that spills out, easily washable as well. The people are commonly out for 36 hours, so as we loaded the 5,000 prisoners to the buses to move them, and people heard the scream, will they were hit, but not killed. Its a good twist I was planning on RPing, but I guess it is better to come right out and say it, we get the information we need from decieption of peoples, not torture.

OOC: Gotta admit, its a nice twist. And wait till the Col. and his sons are reunited, he'll feel awful for going out information. And another reasons his the Head of Civility would never allow it, nor would Jackson a a Diplomat. This poison was developed as an illusion, unable to kill in any dose, only able to knockout, they will wake up and it will seem nothing happened.
*Also Jackson never carries a real Balkan Pistol, as he was once SOT he is not allowed in case he hurts others, no matter what he uses, its sedative.

OOC: Turetel Constitutional Article 77c Prisoner Rights: No prisoners can be killed for any reason expect retaliation, no prisoner can be made an example of, or the soldier that has done so will be the one whom is made an example.
77d-The only weapon allowed to get information from soldiers by anyone but TSF or SOT is the Balkan Sedative Pistol (10 Clips, 30 Rounds and Clip). This pistol contains non-fatal chemicals that automatically shuts that persons movement function down for 1 hour, and then knocks them out for anther 12-36 hours. *Note- An ample supply of nutrients and water is also supplied in the dart, it can keep them in good health for 48 hours.
*Note- No pain is felt on injection, commonly soldiers talk about how bad it feels giving the people a false sense of pain, and making them scream.

OOC: Thought of another example, if you have seen the TV Show - 24 - That is the general idea of how it went, I made it look like it happened, even though nobody died.

"That method seems rather effective. In my country, it would have taken one day to get the information, thanks to our...less restrictive... law system. I believe you know our prefered method of torture yes? Well, that's one of the 'kind' tortures. Depending on the subject, we do far worse." he said with a twisted smile.

Of the 300 POWs taken by the Doomingsland forces, none would ever return home. Some speculate that they were all executed, others say they are being held in the secret Doom Valley Prison facility, a massive underground prison located out in the middle of the desert. If they truley are being held there, it is suspected that they are beeing 'reeducated' to serve Generia as loyal cititzens.

OOC: Yes, they are there, they'll return home in one NS year.

Yes, he cost me several million myself in damaged tanks and lost life. The money that the rebels got worked well for them, SOT forces fortunately destroyed the tanks with the Demolition charges, but better yet, I only destroyed the treds, leaving them unmovable, unless you wanted to reuse them, that and the turret has an explosive charge that will blow if the turrets moved, but Generic Empire I am sure can disarm these and use the tanks.
Another nuisance, those blasted machine-gun nest, 1 Platoon scummed to their fire, and they were a bloody good platoon. Another thing was the Anti-Ship guns that cost me somewhere around 15 Billion dollars (thats right, billions). I will demand that he pay for all damages, but of course he still must pay with some bloodshed, like he has done to us: We must all decide the course of action of course.

General Stats : No cover, good tank and air land (no environment)
: I'll assume he has some coastal waters, if not he has highly zealous soldiers, who like to trade (drugs, money, gambling, cheese)

The best course of action I believe would be to use Tank's with Light Infantry Cover, or Heavy Infantry with Tank Cover. Air Crafts can bomb at night, during day they would be spotted from miles away. Using Artillery is a good way to cover infantry, Heavy Armour Peircing Rounds for Machine Guns could cover thanks. It looks like he can summon mostly all of his people to fight (Compulsary Military Service). This also doesn't help since he can use drug money to fund for more guns and ammunition. He is not big enough to support a real navy or air force, and odds are tanks are of low quality.

Do we have a list of known allies of his?

OK, I just came up with the plan. We're gonna go with shock and awe tactics. We'll do a three NS week bombing campaign to flatten his land forces, then we'll send in the ground forces. We should concentrate on military targets with the air strikes, but should try to level government buidlings as well. When advancing through a heavily populated area, we should use teargas to subdue civilians. We should skip around every other city, and hit the capital immediatly.

Please remember that all airstrikes should be at night (I'd assume) as he has weak air power, but as it is a dry and barren land he can see planes coming from hundreds of miles away (probably - w/ radar). Though if we use ICBM's without planes we might be able to leave out the risk of human damage.

It all sounds good to me. Right now I have the Turetelian White Fleet (117 Ships) en route to his nation, these ships are the most advanced (several trillion dollars out into them over 3 years). They each carry at least 1 ICBM and several have the legendary 1,150mm Bombordment Cannon's. Hit military targets, but leave all money making establishments intact, banks, treasury, etc. We want the money, and we will get the money.

If one of us sets up a thread, that is probably when. We will have to wait for him though, to say losses, etc. The Great White Fleet is now as close as they will get, funny thing happened to, a trade ship(s) got caught under one of the Flag-Ships, and the entire square mile became a giant floating area with white powder and wasted sea creatures, and dead ones. I think it was Palombia's drug shipments to somewhere, that or alot of sugar.
